Since the month had a "R" in it (September), we thought we would stop in and have some oysters on the half shell. Not a whole lot of English spoken here so I dusted off my Spanish and conversed with the waitress and manager about the freshness of the oysters. The manager brought out the oyster tags which showed one bag was from Brazil(!!!) and the other from Louisiana and expired in 2 days. We took a chance and ordered a dozen. Some medium some small, the bakers dozen was mostly fresh tasting, but for a few that were a bit past their prime. Be advised, they do not have any horseradish for adding to your sauce. The oysters were served with the sweetish tomato "soup" that is used to make their cocktails. Not my ideal, but we managed with some heavy lime spritzing. The fried shrimp are a good size with a light corn meal batter and very good. The cook here definitely knows what he is doing with seafood. Best in the city? . . . h-m-m-m-m. Thats a rating people tend to use a little too freely. I would say the food has been good the 4 times we have been and leave it at that. I will say that it is harder to find this type of well prepared Mexican coastal seafood in the city with only a handful of other places that I can think of quickly. Those whom have never been to Mexico and to some of the humble restaurants there may not want to stop here. Not a lot of money is spent on decorations or furniture and there may be a fly or two, That aspect may upset some enough to exaggerate about the cleanliness of the place. And this place definitely has that south of the border feel in ambiance and language spoken. So, this little kitchen will be a fun vacation-reminiscent restaurant for some and a scary little place for others. I think its definitely worth your time and pesos, however, given the aforementioned caveat.

I gave Marisos Del Puerto a 2 star because I wanted to give it a fair chance. In all honesty it was less then 1 star. I want around 12:40 pm 3 tables of 2 were occupying the restaurant I will start with the best and go down from there Cleanliness was a 2.5 stars Price for what you were suppose to get was 2.5 stars Service as far as how quickly, accurate and friendly was 2 stars. Staff was friendly buy slow and order was wrong Food was semi-fresh the crackers were stale and you can tell the food was reheated. I gave that portion a 2 star Now for the taste. I hate to ever say this because they were not rude people but to be completely honest the food was one of the top 3 worse I ever tasted including eating from a vending machine or fast food or C Store... I orderd the mini piratas. The corn tortillas was soggy. the meat was rubbery as if it was microwave too long the avocado was brown and old the cheese was greasy and very salty. My wifes eat a shrimp meal. It was boild shrimp that they reheated in a microwave. A very bland sauce that looked like coagulated milk sauce but not as tasty..

Dont be scared away by the simple outside. The building may not be fancy but the table were clean and the food was OUTSTANDING. The waitress was the only one on duty but she was fast, very nice and accommodating. They brought out these Mojitos that were super fresh and delicious. A perfect combo of sweet and tangy. There was a complimentary fish soup that came out as an app and it was delicious. The food was right on course with everything else. Amazing fried shrimp, my brother lives in Florida and this was the best I have ever had. Huge portions and low prices. The shrimp cocktail my friend had was huge and full of shrimp. I am so impressed. I am here for four days and I am sure I will eat here again.

Fantastic food and good selection for kids. It may look like a humble place but it will surprise you-in a great way! Our hard working waitress was there by herself and still manage to make us feel welcome, later to find out she was actually the owner...kudos to her and her wonderful food. My kids had cheeseburgers, my wife had the street tacos and I had the camarones rellenos, everything was well portioned and fair priced. Dont forget to try the complimentary orange and green sauce on the oversized tortilla chips or saltines, simply put, delightful. Definitely recommended, 5 stars for sure!

So, I like to try out restaurants and different types of food styles, like we all probably do. Well, I came across this place and havent stopped going for the past 2 years! The FOOD is delicious! The complimentary soup they bring out is inviting and welcoming, the menu is unique and seems to serve all my different moods of cravings. Portions and price are spot on, and I cannot forget about the hospitable SERVICE! This combination of the FOOD, THE SERVICE, THE STAFF, and THE PRICE has me there smiling, happy and satisfied! Big thumbs up, highly recommended! See YOU there!

We like trying different restaurants with a great variety of food. I always find that for some reason, those little local restaurants pack the best food. Mariscos Del Puerto is no exception. Their specialty is obviously seafood, in which they surpassed all expectations. My favorites were the fish ceviche and the octopus cocktail. Their Arroz salseado packs a punch of flavor and is loaded with a great variety of seafood. Their atmosphere is also very homey. Look no further if you like seafood Mexican style. Prices were also extremely reasonable. Keep up the good work !!

This is cool little hole in the wall. I enjoyed the 10 pcs fish special advertised for $10.99 to go. Fish was battered and fried perfectly. Fries were hot and unsalted and went well with the fish. The $7.99 fried shrimp and fries were pretty good also and served hot. I Look forward to seeing how some of their other menu items compare. No hush puppies to compliment the fish, shrimp or oysters.....so dont get your hopes up.

Food is awesome, good environment... If its your first time here cant go wrong with fish and fries, absolutely tasty! Soups and Caldos are a great option as well. They serve tacos and tostadas that are in my opinion way better than other restaurants that specialize in just tacos. I give this restaurant 5 stars not only because their quality on food but because the customer service as well.

Wow! Amazing food & service! Flat out best tasting food... The fish was cooked perfectly, the rice was so flavorful, and the sweet tea what out of this world! One of the best overall experiences. I do not give out many 5 stars but this was place is so good. Do not judge a book by its cover. Outside looks like a roadside diner. Inside the food and service are that of a 5 star restaurant.
