Food: Our Coconut Shrimp was very oily, but we ate it anyways. It was so oily however that I began feeling a little nauseated after eating it. Our buzzer went off a minute into the appetizer. I ordered Southern Style Fried Catfish and it was so oily I could only eat about two bites. Oil was pooling in the bottom of the plate. I was only able to eat the baked potato, which was good as far as potatos go. My husbands food was grilled but even it was not very good. It was like they glazed it with oil from the fryer. He ate it but said it was not something he would ever come back for. I think they need to change the oil and increase the temp on the fryer to prevent it from absorbing so much oil. Decor: Not fancy at all. The light fixtures had about a years worth of dust caked on them. Pretty gross. This is pretty much a glorified fast food place. You order at a counter, they give you a buzzer, you go get it at the counter. The buzzer keeps going off for two minutes after you get the appetizer which is annoying. No waiters. Nothing. Get your own refills. Service: The manager came by once to check on us and I had to tell him about the food. He was very kind but seemed pretty shocked and said he had worked there for a year and never had heard anyone complain. But when I showed him the oil on the bottom of the plate he agreed that it was too oily. We talked for a moment and agreed that he should check to temp on the fryer. He issued us a refund for my part of the meal and gave me a coupon for a free appetizer. I appreciated his professional response to my complaint. As responsive as the manager was I will not ever go back here. Even if the fish had not been oily I didnt taste any kind of flaver in the batter or anything in the few bites I did take. It was all very very bland. Im from the south. I know what southern fried catfish is supposed to taste like. This isnt even close.

This will probably be my final review of this place. They now ban Open Carry. And I never plan to open carry anywhere, but the fact that Sea Island chooses to be politically correct AND have mediocre food just pushes me over the edge of ever bothering to stop here again. So, I order the Fried Oysters and Fried "Colossal" shrimp with green beans instead of french fries... Ugghhh. The shrimp are certainly NOT Colossal! Ive bought much bigger jumbo shrimp at HEB. But the flavor of the shrimp was pretty good, just a bit of over marketing there from Sea Island. However, the Oysters were disappointing. There were two good sized Oysters and three small ones. The really bad part though is they had that taste like they were on the edge of turning bad. If youve eaten a lot of Oysters like I have, you know that taste. Kind of funky, and a little worrying after you swallow it. Hopefully it will stay down! The green beans were really the only very good thing on this whole take home plate. Good seasoning and hot. The Cole Slaw was bland as always... If only Sea Island could learn to make real Texas Cole Slaw... All in all, I was sorry I spent $15 bucks at Sea Island for lunch, and wont be back to give them another chance. The new 30.07 sign on the front door says theyre not "Texas Friendly" anyway! Buh Bye Sea Island!!

One of my fave places for seafood. Probly even more so than that huge chain that I wont mention. Great fried fish and shrimp but so much more. Grilled trout, grilled salmon, etc. They even have burgers and steaks, although I have only had the seafood. It is walkup style ordering, so you stand in line, look at the menu, the order. They give you a pager that buzzes you when your food is ready and then you pick it up. This kinda sounds like a fast food environment, but it really is not. The seating area seems more like a regular casual restaurant. Good prices and good food!

I would give it more stars but getting attitude from the little teeny bopper girl cashier last night is why I hate fast food. The customer service sucks in places like this. Girl u work in a glorified Long John Silver, you work a cash register. I dont need u saying, seriously, under your breath bc I want to read the menu. Im in the medical field, I spent my day trying to save peoples lives. I was exhausted. But hey, youre better than everyone else so keep giving customers attitude. Never going back.

My husband and I love Sea Island! I ALWAYS GET the Fried Oysters and he usually gets Catfish. We love the French fries, and the hot green beans but the corn and spinach are great too.The food is always fresh and seasoned perfectly. We love adding Tabasco to our tartar sauce. The staff is always polite and if anything is not right they make it right quickly and with a smile and a "thank you". They never act like they are too busy or overworked or understaffed. They are managed well!

There were so many bees in the outside sitting area and playground that we moved inside. After waiting 40 minutes for our food, the food was just awful. There were bones in the fish, my hamburger seemed off, and though our 4 yr old said she liked her fish bites, I was afraid to let her eat them. We have never walked out of a restaurant, but we walked out of this one leaving most of our food behind and opted for the McDonalds next door

I grew up with Sea Island, so Im partial. Their Shish-Kebab is actually quite good. I know what youre thinking..."but its a seafood restaurant". Just dont forget...where in central Texas. The last seafood that this land saw was back in the Cretaceous period. But I digress. Its a little pricey...but what seafood isnt here? Its cheaper than Red Lobster....by a little....and the seafood is fresher and tastier.

Sea Island reigns as the seafood restaurant of choice. Service is always exceptional. Plenty of seating, inside and out. Prices are very reasonable. One of their little known gems is the Angus hamburger. If anyone in your group gripes about not wanting seafood, bring them anyway. They will fall in love with that burger. We either empty our plate or bring home leftovers. Too good to waste.

Its a nice place for what it is. I will be honest, I was a little disappointed thinking it was a full service seafood restaurant before I went. However, knowing that it is more of a quick, cafeteria style seafood restaurant makes it better. The food was actually quite good, service was good. My only criticism was the drinks were a bit lacking.

The food portions here are very small and have more sides than actual seafood. Ive ordered the fish tacos 3 times and they come out different each time. The coconut shrimp has hardly any shrimp. Also they didnt give me the right sauce. Overall the food tastes pretty good but needs more on the plate.

We ordered to eat in and some stuff to go. The food was disgusting. The service was horrible, everyone looked like they had a stick up their and and acted like it. And they forgot part of my to go order. When I called to get a return they would not return it. The manager tim was a complete dick.
