The old asian lady at the front desk register is extremely rude. I asked her for to go containers and she refused to help me. I saw there were containers on the side of the wall and she seem to be too lazy to get them. Also she said I have to order to go food to get hot sauce containers. I told her I did ordered to go food, and she said theres an extra charge for hot sauce and if i had a table. Really? I told her yes i have a table and she didnt believe me. What kind of service is this? First of all, I was eating at the table and she was aware of this. Plus, I ordered extra to go food for my family and she still insist on not helping me with a RUDE attitude. Are they that CHEAP with their to go containers and plasticware?? I spend thousands of dollars here, and will never return here again. Word of advice to the manager, please hire another person that isnt rude to their customers. Please give customers to go containers for orders to go. That old lady front desk is being LAZY and not doing her job as she suppose to be and on top of that, she yelled "I WILL GET TO YOU!!!" at me when I presented my bill. WOW... such a loud and obnoxious behavior towards a customer. I get better service at din ho and ho ho chinese, plus when i request to go containers, they give me to go containers for my food and plus for the extra food i ordered to go and AWARE that i am a paying customer at a table. This rude old lady will eventually put this place out of business with her uncaring attitude towards customers.

Superb Dim Sum!! Very friendly people! Go there on a Sunday morning or noonish. The fried shrimp tails are scrumptious, the fried crab claws are also good, as are the Har Gao (shrimp dumplings) -- and the Char Siu Bao (roast pork bun) is out of this world, especially the roasted variety (vs. steamed buns). They also serve a plate full of clams in a sauce (Oyster sauce, I think) that is absolutely delicious. I cant wait to go back and try a half dozen other things. Get the Pu Ehr hot tea. Its delicious, and it helps you digest Dim Sum. There are only 2 things I wouldnt recommend. First, the Shumai. Dont get me wrong. Theyre good. But my wife makes them better. New Fortune beats my wifes Char Siu Bao, though. ;) Second, I dont know what its called, but its like a potato cake thats not crisp and crunchy like you get it in China. If youre not from China, youre not likely to get it, anyway. I didnt have room for dessert, but the Dan Ta (egg custard) looked fabulous. As far as prices go, its expensive for Dim Sum, but thats how Dim Sum sells everywhere in the USA now. Youd have to go to Hong Kong or Mainland China to get Dim Sum priced normally anymore. Just remember, so, its expensive? Its also a little slice of heaven, so its money well spent!

A decent dim sum place in Austin! Their dishes are cheap and the portion sizes are generous. The place itself is huge and can get packed on weekends around 1pm. But once you sit down, the staff will push carts around frequently to your table and you can choose whatever dish is to your liking. And if you look at a dish and are wondering "WHAT ARE THOSEEE?!"...its ok dont panic. Take a breath and ask the staff....they will explain what the dish is. I personally always order Turnip Cake. They also have a buffet line (usually potstickers and other fried foods) that you can go up to order...dont forget to bring your menu card so they can mark off the dishes you get! I would also highly suggest you order hot tea; it just wouldnt be dim sum without hot tea, and it helps cleanse the palate and help digestion! #truth You can either pay at the table or up front at the cash register (I think most people do the latter). In summary, order hot tea, choose the dishes that speak to you, and save room for desserts!

I ended up here a couple of weeks ago after learning that the former owners of T&S Seafood had taken over this former establishment that shut down a few years ago. I showed up with a couple of friends right at 10am and fortunately had no wait on a Sunday morning. By 1030, the place was packed. What really impressed me about this place, in addition to the food, was the service. The service was VERY friendly. Im not used to this at most of the Chinese restaurants here in Austin. Everything was clearly explained, and honestly all of the staff were just great to interact that with. Some of my favorites included the standard steamed pork buns, the har gao (shrimp dumpling), the siu mai (they had chicken as well as a pork/shrimp combo) and of course the soup dumplings! I definitely will be returning.

This is by far my favorite Chinese place in Austin. Im not normally a huge fan of Dim Sum, but theres is quite good, although they could maybe use a little more selection. The lunch and dinner menus, however, are simply amazing. Everything Ive tried (and there are a ton of selections) has been great. The soups are excellent. The lunch menu is actually quite cheap. The dinner menu can get a bit pricey for a Chinese place, but still isnt too bad for a nice dinner. The decor seems a bit out of place, but is very nice. The restaurant is kept very clean and the wait staff has always been very friendly and professional. Ive also never had to wait for a table, even when theyre doing Dim Sum or during dinner time on the weekends.

Ive gone to New Fortune Chinese Seafood twice and both times I had a pretty good experience. Plan on waiting a very long time if you going for Sunday lunch. This place is essentially a huge banquet room and its always packed with people waiting to eat. As far as the food itself, both times I was never blown away by anything. Ive had more misses than I have hits. My most recent visit my party was 5 people and we all ended up paying around $19.00 each. I cannot say it was anywhere close to being worth $19.00. If you want incredible Chinese food, I strongly suggest trying "Asia Cafe" instead. In my opinion, their food is superior in every way. I realize Asian Cafe is not dim sum, however, both are Chinese restaurants.

Food: Doing their best to be Authentic Chinese Restaurant, if we comparing to the food here in Austin area, they are in top 3, if we comparing to LA or SFO area, they have much to catch up. Service: Never expect to see much smile faces from the servers, should consider your self lucky if you do run into one, but that doesnt mean they dont care about customers, I guess thats how they been raised. If you would like to eat Dim Sum here on the weekends, best to arrive before 11:30 to avoid waiting line. Since the restaurant is big, its usually max of 20 minutes of wait.
