Previously my wife and I would eat Jazz at least twice a month as we loved the Crawfish Étouffée. More recently however their wait staff has become increasingly rude. Recently (2-3 weeks ago) we called in an order for 2 orders of Étouffée 1 Boiled Crawfish plate and some Hush Puppies, before I had even finished talking to the lady on the other end of the line I was told "15 minutes, " and she hung up the phone. Upon arriving to pick up our meal, we were informed by a man, whom if I had to guess by his dress and attitude I would assume was some form of a manager, that they were out of crawfish. At first we kind of chuckled about this because the young lady at the bar had already told us with our order "Oh sorry guys were out of bread would you like crackers?" We had told her no, and were now chuckling about the being out of crawfish joke, one problem, this wasnt a joke. They were legitimately out of crawfish for the Boiled Crawfish. We asked "Why werent we told this on the phone?", the response : "I didnt take your order". Of course they couldnt have called us back because no name, no number is taken and I was basically hung up on when I placed the order. No offer was made to correct this situation, no apology was offered, it was basically screw you heres what we did make you. We will not return to Jazz and I will urge anyone else to find another location more befitting and courteous to spend your money. Generally a business in the market of customer service should keep in mind that priority #1 is the customer they are attempting to serve.

I travel for business and pleasure about every other month, while on business and on the company "dime" I try to choose a restaurant within walking distance from my hotel. (not a good idea to drink and drive a company rental) Jazz was close and for that reason only I walked in, first impression the place needs somewhat of a refreshing, the place had a Gulf coast atmosphere for sure but seemed dirty, my drink order was for something from the bottle to be served with ice only, that came all messed up, the bar tender seemed more interested in the game on TV than my order. I know that a place like this serves the food spicy or blackened is the norm but I ordered my fish just grilled and it came blackened, I rarely am in the mood for blackened and usually do not order it but this was ruined, I have had very good blackened entrees and this was at the bottom of the list. The vegetables were cooked beyond any nutritional value; I would guess they had been cooking for at least 3 weeks before serving. I did not say anything to the house just paid my bill and quietly left.

I think the people that like Jazz are the people who like the idea of the place. Great Cajun food in Lubbock Texas? Sounds great! The fact of the matter is however, the idealized dreams of the dining public do not come to fruition here. The service is TERRIBLE, I went the entire meal without a water refill, and a previous time I went there the waitress forgot to place my order and let me sit there for 45 minutes until telling me that she "forgot to place order and the kitchen is closed so its too late to order food." The next time I went and actually received my food, my hush puppies were cold, as were my fries, and my catfish had no flavor. Would it be cool if Jazz was everything people want it to be? Yes. But is it? No. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this very bad establishment.

Not even close to New Orleans food, the worst food I ever had. Ordered the shrimp po-boy, the shrimp look like sweet and sour chicken. Asked for it dressed with mayo, mustard, ketchup, lettuce and pickles. Was told they dont have pickles but had one on my plate, only thing on po-boy with a piece of lettuce and some sauce that look like spit. The worst tasting food ever, took one bite and threw it in the trash and Im not even going to start on the cat fish plate. The biggest waste of $40, being from New Orleans I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you want to call yourself New Orleans cooking at least get the food and cooks from New Orleans.

Crawfish was not that good. Overpriced and over cooked. Bit into a bad one about made me sick. Tales where like rubber, heads were dry and not a good taste to them at all. That happens sometime I understand. But the big problem is I returned probably three ponds. Overheard the Manager say " it was just one crawfish" charged me half of my bill. We had two glasses of water. Maybe a pound between two of us. We both had maybe six or seven. My bill was $28.12. The manager didnt even hand me the bill or apologize for the bad food. I did still give the waitress $6.00 for a tip. Not her fault.

The boiled crawfish was cold, chewy and hard... clearly it has been boiled previously and frozen and then reheated which is a major no no. This is hands down the number 1 worst boiled crawfish I have ever had. I just could not force myself to eat it. The crawfish etoufee was average but not terrible. The waitress however was very sweet. The service was pretty good. The restaurant has a unique flair which draws you in. I wouldnt recommended this place for a place to go eat but maybe a place to go have drinks with friends.

I absolutely love Jazz! Me and my boyfriend go here all the time! The atmosphere makes you feel as if youre actually in New Orleans & once you find something you like, which might be tricky, you will never want to eat anything else. Its not classy but it is a great place for Beer and live music on the weekend! My favorite is the Chrimp Czarina! We go to Tech & we always find coupons 2 for 1 dinners & eat here at least once every two weeks.

Well craving seafood, my boyfriend and I decided to come to this place because it was close. We should have drove the distance to somewhere better. Hush puppies were cold, coleslaw was very much below average, fish was over cooked, the shrimp were flavorless and in a greasy bread four times their size, and the bread that you get as an appetizer requires the strength of Hercules to pull apart. Never going there again....

Ive been here several times, its my husbands favorite. The shrimp Poboy is huge and delicious. My husband loves the chicken tenders with gravy (yes, I know--Who goes to a Cajun place for chicken tenders?!) Ive had the gumbo twice--the 1st time it was top notch and the 2nd time it was cold. The hush puppies are good and on the sweeter side (not in a bad way). Well anyways, yes I recommend this place.

Have been here in the past and the food was ok, now it is terrible. Cold hushpuppies, orida frys from the grocery, fried shrimp so small that it was just batter with a tail, garlic potatoes or maybe those were cold grits not sure, spicy sausage that wouldnt make a 2 year old flinch. The pasta at least looked edible. Overall a good place to have a drink but dont waste your money on the food.
