Ive eaten here a couple times in the past year. The thing is, taste is a very personal thing. When people say "authentic" what the heck does that mean? Ive been to Korea, eaten the food and my mother is an old school country Korean girl. Ive been to her village and eaten with my extended family as we all sat around a low table (sitting on cushions) as my Korean uncle ordered from the cart that came by. What many are calling banchan is correct. All the dishes are given separately. What happens next must be a travesty then. The dishes are separate because it is a community pool of food for all to take from. OH NO! We took our fare from the dishes and placed into our bowls, and the foods touched! So is this authentic? Get off your American high horse and enjoy it, or if not go to the other place you claim is "authentic." The food here tastes great (read, my perspective) and I will come again. No its not the least expensive place to have lunch, but it is worth a visit from time to time.

Ive only eaten here one time and it was when they first opened in 2014. Someone had mentioned them and a friend and I went to check it out, as we are both big fans of Korean food. Portions were a bit small, while prices were a bit on the higher side with most items being $10-12. Ive been to other Korean fusion places, but this place kinda fell in the middle. The menu had an assortment of authentic Korean items, as well as a few fusion items, but was priced similar to a full on Korean restaurant. I ordered the Bulgogi meal that was listed as having sides, but it was only a small portion of meat, a side of steamed rice, a small bit of kimchi and cucumbers. The major issue was the portion size, not the quality of the food. When we finished our meals, our plates were clean and we were both still hungry. My meal with drink was around $16 after tip. Since then neither of us have returned. I might be willing to give the place another try since its been a few years.

I ate at Kogi for the first time yesterday. I ordered the Bulgogi, (because, lets face it, if you cant make that right, you shouldnt be cooking Korean food). Well Ill just say that the grease, the lack of spice, and the "American" style of serving my banchan on the same plate, was not by any means "Korean." I have tried many Korean places and I love the S. Korean culture and I do love K-Pop. My mom ordered Gahlbi Tang and she asked the server to bring spice on the side because she wanted it spicy. She also wanted to taste the original flavor of how the chef prepared it (hence the spice on the side). The kind, but unknowingly, server told the chefs to add the spice to the dish......not what we wanted. I get excited to try new places, but give them time to settle in and establish their bearings. Sadly, the food was truly Americanized. Ill pass. Over priced, over Americanized, just over...

A nice little Korean restaurant with decent Korean food. I went here on a Saturday afternoon after the lunch rush with relatives, and it was empty with plenty of seating. The bibimbap was tasty and came with the side dishes of vegetables and kimchi. Our family shared a 16 piece Korean fried chicken, which was perfectly crisp and had the right amount of sweetness! It was no Bonchon, but definitely satisfactory Korean fried chicken! It seemed a little Americanized for me, and I felt other Korean restaurants in San Antonio were more ethnic. But overall the food was good and the servings were big. The waiters were nice and attended to you quickly. Did not have a bad experience here at all, but overall was ok for me.

I have lived in Korea two separate occasions, eaten Korean food all over the world. Literally. The food here was pretty sub par. The soups were bland, and didnt have nowhere near enough spice or flavor. The bulgogi was extremely bland, and no flavor and no spice. You are allowed to choose three banchan(side dishes) and they were bland, not flavored. I love samgyeopsal, but it came already prepared in the style of spicy pork bulgogi. Although flavorful, it should be served separately and cooked by a waiter or you. The kim bap was less than par, veggies not fresh, and bulgogi was bland as well. This place should not be as highly regarded as it is. Everything was less than par.

This place is AWFUL AND Expensive. First, order a jack and coke...they have PEPSI...no drink I know is made with pepsi. small stuff eh? Wife ordered some kind of noodles with beef bits in it. Overcooked noodles with gelatinous GOOP drowning them. At the waiters suggestion, I order their ribs. Skinny little ribs with a soy type sauce to them. Okay..not great. The only thing good were the cream cheese won tons we ordered. Added 2 drinks. Bill? $60.00. Yup, $60 for really bad food. They should have just left the plastic sign above the door and not gone to the expense of expensive signage. It wont be here long.

My friend and I stopped in here last week after passing by and seeing their sign, we went in the waitress are nice young ladies who tell you to seat yourself. They actually have a FULL bar, and the bartender is AMAZING. the food is AWESOME to say the least, I brought my husband with me the following night, and the night after we went for their happy hour. Tonight, im ordering their Delivery.....Take it from a person who never cooks and has visited EVERYWHERE. If you like Authentic korean food, or want to try it, you will love this place!

Well just like most of the other great reviews, the food is amazing! You cant go wrong with anything you order. Portions are good. But if your craving pork that day, they are still good but not the best. Definitely stick t the beef dishes. Also, be prepared to wait at least an hour and a half to get a table. This place is always packed! The good thing is theres a couple of bars in the same plaza so you can get a drink while your waiting. All in all a great experience. Ill be back soon.

I like the fact that this restaurant is somewhat nearby, plus they deliver, which is always a plus. Only downfall is that it isnt authentic & I really dislike the fact that they dont serve the Banchan in seperate dishes, they just put everything on the same plate, & believe me most of the side dishes dont taste good meshed together. Koreans love there separate little side bowl dishes. But overall I gave this place a 4, the waiters were polite & the place is neat & comfy. ^.^

The BBQ here is close to NYC or LA, but ultimately misses the mark. The staff is not very knowledgeable about Korean food outside of bbq. I asked for denjang jjigae (a very basic korean dish) and they didnt know the difference between denjang and kochujang. Rookie mistake. The flavors tell me this is a close approximation of Korean food and should not used as an archtypical representation the cuisine genre.

Ive been to this place many times. I always order the bi bim bap with beef. I do wish they would provide the banchan( small dishes) with all meals. You can ask for it and it will cost $2 more for all eight of the banchan dishes. Most Korean restaurants provide that. There menu does have some fusion dishes like spicy pork tacos. I usually come here for dinner and it is never busy so good comes quickly.
