This used to be my favorite Korean restaurant in San Antonio, but after a few ownership changes, the prices went up at least 2 times, and the serving sizes have gotten smaller and smaller, especially on the lunch specials. On my second to last visit the lunch was tiny, coming out on a divided tray. My last visit was with a larger group, portions werent as bad, but the serving size of my bulgogi was still small. We also had poor service, with side dishes remaining empty, and no waiter for long periods of time. Our lunch took longer than we had available, luckily management was dining with us. The food quality has gone down a little as well, and some of my favorite side dishes discontinued at least at lunchtime with the changeover that happened last year. Sadly my friend who used to eat there regularly with me has started dining elsewhere. The individuals from the group who dined with me on my last visit have declined lunch invitations to meet me and suggested other places. This used to be my go to spot for Korean food at lunchtime, but at the current time, Im sad to say I rarely dine here anymore.

Myung Ga Wong is a very nicely decorated and clean restaurant. The quality of service and food were both above and beyond. We were greeted at the door, and told to seat where we like. Our server was prompt in taking our drink orders and gave enough time to look through the menu. There was one mishap where water was accidentally spilled on me. We were offered to have them pay for the dry cleaning. I would say that is most definitely above and beyond. The Korean dishes are authentic to taste. Side dishes are all served just before the meal comes, as they do in Korea. Do expect the pricing to reflect the authenticity, but it is well worth your dollars. If youre looking for authentic Korean dishes with good service, this is a great restaurant to visit.

This is NOT real Korean food, I dont care what the other reviews say. Theyre probably the same people who think that Taco Bell is Mexican food. I went here one time and that was all I needed to know that this place is garbage. We ordered kimchi jigae (which was OK) and daeji bulgogi (if you dont know what that is, Google image search it) and what they brought out was a flat pork patty on a leaf with some BBQ sauce on it. It honestly looked like a giant McRib slapped on a piece of lettuce. It was disgusting. Im pretty sure they bought the pork patty from the frozen dinners section at HEB, no joke. You would do well to take your business elsewhere. I am very displeased at this sorry excuse for a Korean restaurant.

Food was ok, but the service my friend and I received, was ok at best. We did not receive a refill of tea, and the woman that served us was upset with me because I ate some of my buddies rice that came with his meal when he offered it to me. She said "That is not yours, that is his, it goes with his food." I replied, " He will be alright, he gave it to me." She just gave a dirty look and walked off. If I am paying for a meal do not tell me how I should eat it. I have never experienced that in my life. It took about 15 minutes for her to come up to the front when the two of us, along with two other patrons, wanted to pay for the meal. We chose to go to this place on a whim, but rest assured, we will not be back.

The woman who may be an owner, was watching a Korean TV show on the large screen located prominently at the front door, couldnt be bothered to greet me as I entered. She was also eating her dinner with her fingers. A man, who did not speak English, showed me to my seat and took my order could not answer my questions. On a Friday night, I was the only patron. The friendliness of the woman may explain things. The beef bulgogi was good, but I was reminded of a beef fajitas at the many hundreds of tex-mex restaurants that dot the local landscape. The kim chi was utterly pedestrian. Im not hopeful that this place will survive. Not worth a revisit.

Go hyung jib was my absolute favorite spot. After they were bought out this new place raised their prices so high its ridiculous. The kalbi was soggy and just disgusting. Service was awful. We were scolded for saying we wanted a side of white rice instead of steamed. Had our order slammed down on the table by our waitress without her even glancing our way. She never checked on us after either. We spent a total of $50 for two people for what used to only cost $30. All I can say is I want Go Hyung Jib back. THAT was real authentic Korean BBQ at a reasonable price.

You ever crave intestines and beef ? Well heres the spot! Location: right in the corner of Inside: very spacious but it does get hectic. Food: they marinade their intestines for a few days. The taste is a clean sweet grainy feel. The more you cook it the less chewy it gets. (Small intestines) Pork cheek: crunchy porky fatty flavor in your mouth what more can I say Beef: the steak was very marbleized and very tender with the sweetness of beef Brisket: i love it crispy ! Overall the meats didnt have a funky after taste at all .Myung Ga Won is best.

Fast friendly service by a team of male staff members who usher you in, take your order and cook your meat for you. Typical Korea type joint with quality meat and a plethora of banchan to go with your beer.Problem is, they only serve pork and beef. If you dont eat either (which I dont), youre relegated to banchan and rice which is available upon request. Their stews are made from pork broth.

The lady was super rude and got mad because we only wanted two side of white rice (by the way me and my husband we had order food also) 1) she got mad because i called it white rice instead of steamed rice o_0 i thought it was the same thing. 2) we wanted a side of steamed rice because my kids are picky and just wanted rice. Then when the food came she just threw the plates to the table

The service was great. Our lady there was super nice and she explain the different side dishes we had. I will definitely come back. -the traditional korean grill tables will be in later on this month. So wait if you want the full korean barbecue experience you will have to wait a bit.

the place has a good rep, but this is not Korean food. As many other oriental places they are trying to increase sales by doing food not even close to real Korean. Dont like it at all. Stick to your roots! or at least to the name of the joint.

So disappeared... The food was ok... the pricing for the food was just terrible. Everything is so expensive. I guess you can charge insane prices when there isnt that much competition. Need to find a better place foe Korea food.
