The taste of the food was pretty good as far as Korean goes. Because it was the first time I just wanted to try a staple and that was bulgogi spicy chicken. The spicing of the meal was very good, although I do prefer dark meat in my bulgolgi. The portions were okay, possibly could be considered slightly over priced because of the location. Speaking of the location, it is located in a gas station. The place is clean it is very small you have to use the gas station bathroom to wash your hands, and we know how clean bathroom are in gas stations right? As I was leaving about eight or ten construction workers came in looking rather grubby and dirty. That is the type of atmosphere I would expect from a lunch place costing six or seven dollars not $12. The lady, and Im assuming she was the wife of the owner, was very very nice and came to check on me a couple of times during the meal. The meal came with a side of various vegetable kimchis: bean sprouts, cabbage, cucumber, it was some of the best Ive had. All in all, the flavors were good, but the ambiance stank. I dont think I will be going back because of the location primarily and a little bit because of the price.

Excellent food! I have tried many Chinese restaurants in the West Ashley area, and this is my favorite. Top quality chicken in the pad Thai and chicken lo mien (the only dishes I have tried so far). Zen is also good, but the prices are better here, and the quality is just as high. I highly recommend Ko Cha. Im looking forward to trying their Korean food, too. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is clean and inviting. The service is quick and friendly, and the menu has an outstanding selection of Asian cuisine. Ko Cha will be around for years to come, and I doubt the prices will remain this low. Get it while you can. This place is moving up in the Charleston foodie scene. They may not be in a gas station for long.

I FOUND THE GEM! Yea, its attached to a gas station and it looks like your typical Chinese restaurant. However, the Korean food was awesome! My friends had the hefty portions of pad Thai and drunken noodle while I had ramen soup (with chicken). It was perfect for a cold day and the price was right on point. We hope to go back again and venture into the more unknown dishes. I liked that there was a variety of differnet people coming in and ordering the more uncommon items too. GREAT place for lunch!

The food was amazing! Reasonably priced, delicious, and authentic ethnic food. I wish we had a hundred more restaurants like this in the Charleston area. We had the kimchi pancake, the wontons, and the sweet and sour chicken. All the sauces seemed to be homemade. The wontons and the pancake were crispy and flavorful. The sweet and sour was so much better than the highly disappointing Chinese restaurants Ive been to around here. We live half an hour away but we will definitely be back.

I was born in Korea, but came over as a baby. Ive never eaten Korean food before, so I went here with my husband to finally try it. I got the Bibimbap in the stone pot, and he got the Job Chae. The Bibimbap was SUPER spicy (too spicy for me), and the Job Chae was just the right amount of spicy. The woman working there was super friendly and helpful. We both plan to go back often!

I love Korean food, so I was very, very, VEEEEERY pleased to have stumbled across this place one night when I was putting gas in my car. I dont even care if its next to a gas station. Their beef bimbop is the best Ive ever had and they have one of my most favorite dishes on menu. They are so close to my apartment, I wont have to drive far when I start craving kimchi.

First time to this place. Went based on the reviews. The outside is very misleading! Waitress/Owner was extremely nice. We got the lumpia for 6.99. Our lunch specials for $5.99 were just enough food. The fried rice had pieces of pork and egg. We have lived in the Charleston area for almost a year, trying to find a decent cheap Chinese joint. Finally found it!!!

Ever stop at a place on a whim to find out that its some of the best Korean (and some Chinese food) you have had in CHS? I havent been in the kitchen but I think there is a little Korean grandma cooking all the food. I am torn...I want them to be successful but I also dont want this place to become popular. The definition of a hidden gem.

My wife and I recently have gone completely vegetarian. I was jonesing for some really good asian food and this place delivered. I recommend the bean curd in brown sauce and the lo mein. They left the egg out of the veg fried rice and it was amazing. This has always been my favorite place and it has never failed me.

Great family owned place. Nothing special to look at (its in a gas station) but the Korean food is awesome. We go several times a month. Hint: dont do take out, eat in. The food is better piping hot (esp soup served boiling in a hot pot) and the small sides of kimchi and vegs you get when eating in make the meal.

We tried this restaurant as my husband is vegetarian. Were visiting from the UK for the eclipse and we both had superb meals. Fresh ingredients, cooked well, beautifully spiced and at a reasonable price. Decor is that of a simple cafe - its attached to a garage (gas station) but food is well worth a try.

I had a friend recommend Ko Cha and today I finally tried it. Being early in my pregnancy I have been VERY picky about food and Ko Cha passed the test with flying colors! I was a little nervous because of the location but I try not to judge a book by its cover

Food was very good. But one of the workers child was very very rude to us. She randomly sat next to us and was very rude to my child. I told the childs mom to please move her, because whenever I tried..she would not move. Other than that, the food was very good.

Great selection in Korean food. They also have Chinese as well. Its more of fast food setting like a small cafe next to a gas station and a pizza joint next door. The owners were very nice and the food was good.. lack side dishes but the 3 we got were great!

Every time we get food from here, we are always surprised at how delicious it is. The service is quick and friendly. Chinese takeout has always been my comfort food but they have replaced that and become our go-to place for take out. Absolutely fantastic!

This is the best Korean food ANYWHERE!!! Not a fancy atmosphere but the food is absolutely amazing. Coose from the regular menu or be daring and ask Gong to fix you something super authentic. You wont be disappointed! Service is outstanding as well!
