We went in with a party of six for my birthday and were told we couldnt be seated for about 15 minutes, even though there were LOTS of tables available. We let that slide though. Then once were seated, (at our filthy table) our waitress Sheila tells us that since theyre short one cook, the manager said they wont prepare meals for parties of six and there was nothing she could do and HOPEFULLY the other cook would get there. Keep in mind that this place wasnt busy and probably only at about 1/3 capacity. Meanwhile about 4 employees are just hanging out in the bar area. Then shes trying to ramble on about how the food works and the different bowls, and these little cards you have to fill out, and how this bowl is only for sauce, and how theres only 4 bowls you can order from the table and the rest you have to go up and get your self, and by this point Im just over this place. Could you make food more difficult?? We left and went to Willies Bar and Grill and it was awesome. So do yourself a favor, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

OMG refrain to visit this place. We went with another family and beside the service is TERRIBLE, I really emphasize it, from the 9 people in our group 6 of us got sick, bad, less than 2 hours from dinner. Dont rick yourself or your family, i. My case my 2 children and me got sick on Memorial Day weekend! Nasty nasty place! We love GG, we dinner there almost every week in Houston and The Woodlands, but service in West San Antonio is that bad that we received our food (after asking the manager and another waitress for our bowls) and we had to request for 3rd time our drinks! The waitress elapse so long between visits that even we had to request twice for our check; that much time went that she forgot that one of the parties already paid in cash and was requesting payment again. When asked for the GG rewards I provided my email instead of providing my GG card and not even the Manager could find my info; I never carry that card so its the way the find me in every GG but this one. Really bad experience all the way!

Food was good service is awful. I sat for 20 minutes before even having someone come to my table. They only had 3 tables with customers. Across from me a menu was on the ground with napkins on the floor. The menu and napkins where never cleaned up the 1 hour I was there. I ordered the guacamole appetizer and the large bowl. The guacamole was plain and they gave me 10 rice crackers to go with it. I never got a set up until 30 minutes in when my bowl came over. Food was ok I did enjoy the flavored pork and calamari. Rice at bottom of bowl was to sticky. I had a ginger beer with some type of fruit infused that was the best part. My bill was $30 for 1 person and I left a $8 tip. For nearly $40 I could have gone to a higher quality tepenaki restaurant and service would have been nicer.

Wow! The staff was really rude. The girl at the front actually told us to hold on and went outside to talk to her friends. I felt like they didnt even want us here. Ive never been to a "sit down" place where they demanded your order before we were given a table. The food counter was really messy and the cooks would take the steel bowls and throw them on the ground all the time. Really annoying. Ive eaten at other GGs and always liked the food but here it just wasnt that good. It seemed like the cooks didnt add my sauce. The ONLY good thing about this place was out server, Crystal, who at least kept our drinks full and the only one in the place to offer a smile. But even that wont bring me back to this dump.

Although I love the concept of the restaurant. I despise the customer service. I had one bad experience two years ago and decided to give the restaurant another try. Ikept telling my husband that i was apprehensive. I was disappointed once again. The waitress forgot our drinks and took forever to bring water and silverware. There were only three occupied tables and we were there aftert the lunch crowd so I couldnt understand what caused the slow service. I sat and observed the servers standing in the bar gossiping and the bartender leaving back and forth to the back. The fresh drinks were good....thats about it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I dont know if possibly this place is under new management, but my husband and Is experience was great! Great server, her name was Deonna, she was nice and Professional she greeted our table in a timely manner as well as everything was timely and great. The hostess greeted us as soon as we walked threw the door and she also sat us in a area were no one was at, just like we had asked. Everyone was nice and approached us and was very attentive. I would come here a thousand times over. Plus the food was freaking amazing, as usual! Thank you to all the staff that made my husband and Is night away great!

I used to be a fan of Genghis Grill until today. All my other visits to GG allowed my 2 year old daughter to eat free since she only eats a small portion of rice and maybe 2 pieces of chicken and a few veggies. I was surprised to see that today I would have to pay $5.00 for her meal. Also I guess my waitress thought the she deserved a tip because my bill was $7.88 (I went to redeem my birthday bowl on this visit), I gave her $20, and she gave me $11 back. I thought I should get to choose how much to tip her. Instead of a "Happy Birthday To You" I felt I got a "Happy Birthday Screw You"

Horrible service. Meat section looked like it was sitting out. Pork did not look like the "other white meat" and had a strong rotten odor. A roach was found trying to crawl into the food and i was told this by a family member AFTER i already assembled my bowl. Most of vegetable bins were empty. When asked to refill, a worker said he is not responsible to restock and i will have to wait for the restock lady who just showed up to work. Appallingly and will not return.... hopefully none of the family gets food poisoning. Health inspector should make a surprise visit

The San Antonio TX 151 spot recently got bought out and "lots of changes to the franchise" as the employee informed me First.... They moved the meats from 1st to 3rd in the line so now its veggies, powder seasoning, then meat, more veggies, then liquid seasoning. Meat being first has been that way since I first ate at GG in 2007. Also... They got rid of beef tips and put sliced beef, which was a horrible idea. Beef tips dont break up and burn everytime. Also... shrimp only on dinner menu, so if you want shrimp for lunch.... itll cost you as much as a dinner bowl...

I will never go back to that location. We sat 10 minutes waiting for a server, then we decided to go ahead and make our food. We ended up going to the bar to get our drinks and once it was time to leave we asked the hostess how we should pay, since we never had anyone once check on us. I saw other people get good service, I just thought it was crazy how we were overlooked when there was hardly a crowd there. The employees werent even apologetic about the situation. I should have talked to a manager but it probably would have just been a lost cause.
