Three friends of mine and I had never been to this place, but went to meet some other friends who were regulars. When we got there, the place was completely empty at 10pm on a Friday. Though we all liked the bar itself and thought that this could be a place that we would frequent, we were refused service by the bartender because we looked like "we had had a few drinks already". I completely understand that it is up to the discretion of the bartender whether or not he/she serves to customers that walk in to the bar but none of us had had a sip of alcohol that night so far. We were completely sober, were not slurring our words, stumbling, or acting unruly. We had merely stepped up to the bar to view which beers they had available when we were asked by the bartender if we had been drinking already. After we responded "not yet", he informed us that we would not be served because "our eyes looked glossy and one of our friends had already asked where the bathrooms were which was a tell tale sign." I will never go back to this place and I suggest if you decide to go here, make sure that you do not show any "tell tale signs" of intoxication. But no worries, there is a bar right next door that does know the difference between a sober person and a drunk person. I also have a suggestion to the owner that if you want to stay afloat in this tough economy, you should probably retrain your bartender to know what the signs of intoxication are because he obliviously doesnt and is driving away your new legitimate business.

I love Oak Hills Tavern! Great chill spot where everyone, patrons and staff, are friendly. Chill out on the front or back patios outside or play pool, darts, or shuffleboard inside. Oak Hills does a great job of having weekly events like karaoke and movie nights for anyone who is looking to pair great food and drinks with a fun activity. Sometimes they have art shows out on their quaint front patio, I like the front patio because it is enclosed by a wooden fence so there is not a lot of foot traffic or onlookers like you might get elsewhere. Even if you arent interested in having a beer or cocktail, definitely go to Oak Hills for some excellent eats. Their tacos, pizzas, and duck confit fries are all delicious- Ive never ordered anything from their kitchen that I did not throughly enjoy. The bar staff are also excellent and friendly. Amy, Liz, Richard or Johnny can usually be found behind the bar and will always take great care of you. I am always looking for an excuse to head over to Oak Hills.

I had almost the exact same experience as Jaclynn did (Mar 19, 2012) only it was about 6 months ago. I came in sober as a Baptist preacher only to be told that they would not serve me because my "eyes looked glassy". Like I said I had not had a drink -- nor anything else -- and my speech was in no way slurred. I didnt try to argue. I just left and wont waste my time coming back. Oak Hill Tavern used to be a great little dive hangout before the change in ownership. Its too bad whats happened to it over the past year or two. Plenty of other places around.

Oak Hills Tavern reminds me of episodes of Cheers hearing the theme song you want to go where everybody knows your name it is amazing that you can walk into a bar and receive hugs salutations and greetings on a level where you immediately feel like your home with family. I will not for get to mention that the food is absolutely amazed

Sat down for 10 minutes no service. No "seat yourself" so we did. No "come to the bar when you want to order" or "be with you soon" a quick get and then couldnt find anyone to ask for drinks or food. Didnt even know if the kitchen was open or what. I may try again sometime.... it looked like a cool place. We went to Hooters instead

Okay, this meets the definition of a dive and sometimes thats what youre looking for. I thought the floor might cave in. The shuffleboard table had a wicked slant to it but that just made the game that much more interesting. The beer was cold, the staff and the patrons were friendly. Sometimes thats all you need.

Its was a lot of fun and the food was great, drinks are reasonable. the people seem to be "steadies" and they are friendly! It was 80s music nite had a blast! But there were roaches in the back area for smoking, so beware, lol

Went on a Sunday night & was pleasantly surprised by the awesome atmosphere of this bar. It was also karaoke night & the singers were all pretty good! The prices were great & the bartender was cool

Cool place with lots of outdoor seating thats not crowded. Parking isnt the best but Ive never had trouble finding a spot even on a Friday night.
