The food is excellent, fresh, and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is casual, with a small dining area indoors, and plenty of picnic tables outside for when the weather is pleasant. There is a stage area for live music on weekends, and of course the ice house (separate hours) is right there on the corner for those who want to enjoy their food with a beer. The staff is pleasant, even during busy times. The only real difficulty is parking, and thats a sign of the decreasing options for street parking, not through any fault of La Tunas own. This is the place I prefer to take friends and out-of-town guests. The only downside is that the grill is closed on Sunday ;-)

Great casual outdoor ice house environment. Seating is mostly outdoors, so keep that in mind during the heat. The appetizers are mostly tailgating/game-watching food-- nachos, fried stuffed jalapenos, buffalo wings, loaded fries, etc. Their burger is very good, and I believe you can still add a side of nopalitos (pickle-y cactus). The most impressive thing, in my opinion, was the outrageous fudge brownie. Huge portion, so its good to share between two or three people. Gooey chocolate brownie meets vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. As Ina Garten always says, "How can that be bad?"

La Tuna Grill is a staple of South Town. If youre visiting, add this to the list of places to go. The service is always friends, the specials are always amazing, and the are located close enough to everything to walk there. Hands down, the best fries in San Antonio. Perfect level of crunch and totally satisfying. It doesnt matter what you get, you cant go wrong. Then, you can walk 10 steps away to La Tuna and enjoy a cold one in front of a fire pit. Or you can cross the street to go to Alamode for an Affogato (espresso poured over gelato) or 1919 for a cocktail.

La Tuna Grill has been here for 9 years. Small inside sitting area, maybe 8 - 12 tables, able to sit approximately 20 - 35 people, may have an upstairs but not sure, sat outside. Large outside area with several picnic and 4-seater tables, lots of standing room. Food.... Great! I had blackened fish tacos with nopalito salad, excellent taste and both tacos had large portions of fish. BTW, every first Friday of month the local artists decorate the inside and other artists exhibit there works in the evenings. ** Ill be going back!

This has been one of my favorites from day one! I have never been disappointed in anything but the parking situation. My only hope is that I start biking to LaTuna to save myself from the endless circling for parking space. The focus remains good, fresh food. This spot is cozy enough to make you want to linger all day. They have an awesome beer and wine selection at the outdoor bar. Hope for a South Texas breeze and crack a cold one with the fish tacos sooner than later.

All the food here is great, but during the months of August and September they have a chicken salad sandwich that is absolutely fantastic. Im pretty sure that sandwich can feed two people easily. Its gigantic and very tasty with bacon and black olives. Also its a cool place to hang out with friends and have a cold beer outside under lots of trees, and best of all its biker friendly.

Tourist.... looking for a great restaurant to try away from down town? Just a few miles away from down town and worth the drive! Must try over sized mushrooms with gravy, prim rib sandwiches, one of the thickest and crunchy chicken fried steaks ever. And they have nothing to hide. You can see the Master Cheif Mark hard at work while you dicide what to order. Must try!!

I just eat the "nachos" What kind of nachos are these? It was a single layer of chips maybe 8 chips in all covered in beans and cheese with other toppings. I always thought of nachos as a "pile" of chips with cheese, beans or meat and other topping on top. I have only experienced this single layer nachos here in san antonio. Please elaborate on the difference.

On a less trafficked area of Downtown which may be to your licking. The bar itself is cash only, with a charge for cash back per 20 dollars. No draft beer, but plenty of bottled beer to choose from. The back side has a restaurant that offers a full menu. Purchase and wait at the patio for your food to come to you.

Went for the first time and was completely impressed by this small place. It has a lot of charm and my prime rib sandwich was savory and delicious. All the other people in my party were also impressed with their plates. I will definitely be returning to see what else they have to offer.

Came here the another day for the first time and the food was great. I order a chicken fried chicken (which isnt on the menu) but had no problem with making it. My girlfriend ordered a burger which I tasted and it was also delicious, I plan to come back to get a burger sometime soon.

I love La Tuna Grill - but I was a little upset with the change of the fried mushrooms to mustard style!???? The entire reason why I crave this place is the Guerro Nachos and the mushrooms. Can you please go back to your original fried mushrooms without the mustard seasoning please!

The perfect new york strip with red wine reduction, roasted potatoes and veggies for $13; great burgers; gormet deserts; unbelievable appetizers (fried mushrooms or loaded fries - no room for dinner); cold beer (evenings only); live entertainment on the weekends; the best there is.

My wife & I visited this place today for the first time off of a recommendation from a food critique. We were not disappointed. My wife enjoyed the fish tacos & I had the Lamb sandwich which was delicious. The staff is friendly & made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back.

Good hot sandwiches accompanied by decent portions of salad and fries. Nice tree-covered dog-friendly terrace, friendly and attentive staff. Pay cash for your beer at the separate adjacent bar/icehouse. Parking is limited and can be difficult.

Excellent food and good drinks available. Gets a little packed during busy hours but its a nice open location so plenty or room to stand or sit and chat with friends. Most of the location seating is outside though, keep that in mind.

The kitchen is always cooking up the Yummy-ness. I like the fish tacos, the milanesa, the lamb sandwich, and the nachos. They have a decent beer garden in the shade of a huge pecan tree and a fire pit for cold winter evenings.

Wow, what an awesome place! The food is exceptional, the restaurant clean and well managed. The service top notch. The cheesy Burger, shrimp po-boy are to die for. The pork Osso Bucco was simply stunning. Will be back!

Perfect. Food is amazing. Portions are huge. Price is reasonable. And there was live music in the beer garden on the night we went. La Tuna Grill is one of the many reasons San Antonio lives fondly in my memories.
