This humble little place is staffed by probably the nicest people we have ever met! They are genuinely welcoming and show obvious interest in making sure every single aspect of your visit with them is everything they can make it. But as good as this is, let’s talk about the food. We ordered the catfish and shrimp plates - one fried, one grilled. But we started with the gumbo. It was absolutely delicious and chock full of… everything. Shrimp, pulled chicken, sausage, veggies. Fantastic with a bit of a spicy kick. The fried dish was lightly breaded and perfectly fried making the taste of the underlying fish and shrimp come through nicely. But the grilled dish was simply unbelievable! Perfectly seasoned with with an ultra-flavorful paprika blend. This is definitely worth coming back for all on its own! We believe the desserts are made in house. The coconut cake was moist and awesome... and this is coming from someone who wouldn’t normally so much as try a coconut dessert of any kind. We tried the sweet potato pie because we’ve never had one. It was like pumpkin pie (which I love) without the spice taste (which made it even better). Finally, the peach cobbler which simply did not disappoint. Heck, even the lemon sweet tea was the best we’ve ever had. But without exaggeration, this is the best service we have ever received in any restaurant. I think it’s a family operation which speaks volumes about the warmth and kindness of the family. If it’s NOT a family business (which frankly would surprise me) then kudos to the management for creating such an atmosphere. Excellent food. Unmatched service. A well deserved perfect rating.

I am sorry that you have to click on at least one star in order to leave a review, because this place is complete trash. I spent almost 30.00 for two people and I wanted to do everything short of throwing the food in there faces. It didnt have any flavor the order wasnt correct after the waitress asked me on three different occasions how did I want my food.Needless to say I ended up leaving without eating that garbage they call a seafood restaurant. I could have went to Laguna Madre and got an outstanding meal of any kind for two and a hefty serving to boot with change left over to boot. Ooops with outstanding customer service as well. They didnt even try to fix it.

This is a great place, w amazing people and delicious catfish! Right when you walk in the door, youre welcomed and treated like family. If the food was bad, Id still go back just Bc the people here are so kind, and make you feel so special. but its not! The catfish, the greens, the fries, the CORNBREAD, THE KOOLAID! Its all so good. San Antonio is lucky to have a place like this. I cant gas this place up enough, no matter what side of town you stay on, you absolutely have to try this place. Thank you to all the wonderful kind people at Bayseas, I really appreciate you all for all you do! Cant wait to go back.

The Gumbo is to-die-for!! If you want real, authentic Louisiana Gumbo then this is the spot. Normally I prefer grilled over fried seafood because a lot of places dont know how to season the breading, or the breading is too thick, soggy, etc. I wanted to give their fried catfish & shrimp a try before I wrote it off like the others & Im so glad I did. Everything was cooked Perfectly, perfect amount of crispness & the seasoning was delicious. Grilled is available upon request too if you prefer. Theres also a variety of options to choose from like oysters, bass, trout, etc. Ill be back to try the other options soon!

Great Seafood, Great Price! The menu has quite a few choices to choose from. Their specialty is seafood, but had traditional food like meatloaf and country fried steak. I also noticed that on Sundays they serve soul food as well. I ordered the catfish dinner and was definitely pleased. The price, taste, and portion size was better than a fast food national chain! This is a very casual experience. The food and drinks were served on good ole fashioned strofome. Making cleanup a breeze. I hope the owners have amazing success!

Food was ok but pricey. At that price point I would think they could serve you on something better than Styrofoam plates. The waitress brought gumbo to our table and spilled hot gumbo on her hand because of the flimsy plate the bowl gumbo was on then a few minutes later another waiter was serving another table and dropped food on the floor because of the inadequate plates. I wonder how much they throw away because they dropped it before it even got to the table?

We absolutely loved our meals! Unfortunately, we probably wont go back simply because they charge $2.50 for a plastic cup of water. A cup of tea and a root beer are also $2.50 and it just doesnt seem appropriate. Our total was $58 for 1 shrimp poboy, 1 oyster poboy, a 3pc catfish/3pc shrimp plate, gumbo to go, one piece of pumpkin cake, and 3 drinks. service was excellent and I Ieft a $15, tip but I just cant get over $2.50 for a plastic cup of water.

Fast! Fresh! And Fabulous! My only regret is not coming here sooner! This is one of the best (if not THE BEST) seafood restaurants Ive ever eaten at (And I lived on the Texas coast for over a decade). Food was made just as I ordered and arrived at my table hot and quick. Service was great and the variety is spectacular. Definitely coming back, and hope you enjoy your visit as much as I did. (FYI - they have carry-out also)

Picked up an order to go. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The food however left a little to be desired. The fish was terrific but the shrimp was dry and a little crispy. Im going to chalk it up to an off day because Ive heard really good things about them. Thats why I went in the first place

If you like fish and shrimp youre gonna love Bayseas! I had a craving for fried catfish and oysters all week and googled this place. I drove out of the way to get here too. Glad I did. They know what theyre doing and their staff are the best. If they offer you a sample of their gumbo -- go for it. EXCELLENT!

We love this place. They greet us at the door and help us with an elderly parent. The food is great. I especially appreciate the gumbo on a cold day. The fried catfish comes piping hot to the table. We have tried some of their great soul food, but we keep coming back for the fish.

Fish is fresh! Constantly. If you order a meal with fries dont forget to ask for seasonings on them. The catfish is perfectly seasoned and the fried pickles are crisp with a good portion. Heading over today to try the cooked crawfish $6.99 for a lb.
