WARNING!!! My husband and I had our first and last visit at this restaurant. We hadnt got half our meal eaten and my husband went to take another bite of the shrimp in his hand and something shiny caught his eye. He pulled the shrimp away from his mouth to look at it (Thank the good Lord!), there was a long enough and thick enough piece of metal poking half in and half out of his shrimp that would have done some serious damage if he had swallowed it!! We took pictures of it and were done after that! The manager kid was kindly willing to refund my husbands part till I stepped in and told him that he was refunding our entire meal because neither of us were finishing it after that. He refunded everything and profusely apologized, said it would be investigated and gave us free vouchers with no expiration dates in hopes we would come back again. As all of this was taking place...we were sitting close to a small (about a dozen) church group that was having a bible study while eating, us being Christians, I was enjoying listening to what I could hear of it and seeing older teens/young adults so interested in Gods word. What I dont understand, and it still bothers me this morning as does the piece of metal, is that there were a very few people scattered about eating behind us as it was 9pm and they close at 9:30pm and folks were still coming in placing orders, but yet the lights were turned off right about 9p ONLY over the section of this Bible study group which also effected my husband and I as we were sitting right under where half the lights were on and half the lights that had just been turned off. No one else in the place was affected by the lights. This group was in a back corner away from everyone else, not bothering anyone and not being loud! They felt it was an indication of closing time and they left. When my husband and I finally got our issue dealt with, we walked outside and the church group was standing there still discussing their Bible topics. We asked if they came here often, they do, (I feel they were clueless as to what took place with them being pushed out of the restaurant). We told them what had just happened with us and gave them all of the free vouchers that the manager gave us! We will never go back!! If the church group chooses to go back then they should be able to enjoy the free vouchers for being made to feel it was time for them to leave while others were eating and enjoying themselves, and others were just ordering. The food was ok, not 4 or 5 star great, basically a fast food type Seafood place. As far as being told the piece of metal would be investigated...I have a difficult time putting much stock into that. None of our contact info was even taken so that someone higher up could get back with us.

Short review: service is hit and miss. Most of the food was good, although some was just okay. "A worthy stop." Full review: ordered the seafood platter. Surprisingly, the stuffed and butterfly shrimp was just okay. The white fish was a little less than okay; it was a little dry. The crab cake was quite amazing. The fries were good. The hush puppies were very big and very good, although really very plain tasting. My partners fish was much better than mine (the crunchy fish basket). All the food, good or not, was fried very well to perfection. The service staff is very friendly but there are no dedicated servers for your table. Instead, three is a matre D that meanders about occasionally. In other words, if you want something you will probably have to get up and go ask the pick up counter. Ask for house radish to mix with ketchup and kick the flavor up a notch.

My husband and I arent from this area. We drove by and decided to wait in the line because we figured it was worth the wait. I got the shrimp and catfish. Fries were under cooked, catfish was okay and the shrimp tasted dirty. My husband is a established chef so I had him taste it. He immediately spit it out. He could tell it wasnt cleaned properly, not fresh and not cooked well. We also got the calamari.. The sauce was good but the calamari was very chewy. Calamari was defiantly frozen and pre breaded. We were very disappointed. The mojitos were the only good thing. I never leave reviews but I feel like this was a needed one. Please dont go here if you want good quality seafood.

As a normal customer of long john silvers, right down I-35, i decided to try sea island to as i had read in a review that the food was better, and equally priced to long john silvers. I was sadly disappointed with the fish. I got the fish and shrimp large, which was 2 dollars more than long john silvers, but the batter just did not compare to the wonderful deep fried golden goodness of long johns batter. I will say the side seem fresher, and the sea food may very well be fresher, but the taste sea islands batter does not win. Overall Sea Island is a nice place, but im sticking with Long John Silvers.

Mexican style shrimp cocktail is amazing, cilantro and avocado add so much pizazz and flavor to an other wise boring dish. Coconut shrimp melts in your mouth. So good! HOWEVER Fried oysters are TINY, taste fine but smaller than a nickel and a few smaller than a dime. At $7.50 for a dinner or $1.25 each i expected better and bigger. Seating sucks. I hate booths and bar height tables. Just want a normal table and chair to sit at. You place your order and then sit and wait then go back up to counter to pick up your food, pita if you have a large order.

First and probably last visit. I went on a recommendation from co-workers. I ordered the Aransas platter. The stuffed shrimp was just fair. The fried shrimp was on par with Long John Silvers--bland at best. The worst part of the meal, however, was the whitefish, which had a rubbery texture and matching flavor. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and our food was ready promptly, which is what kept the restaurant from getting one star. I wholeheartedly do not recommend. This is fast food quality disguised as a sit-down restaurant.

My wife had been wanting to visit any Sea Island for some time and now that one is open nearby, we decided to visit recently. The staff were very nice and I felt that the service was pretty good. The prices do vary. There are some items on the menu that are priced well, and there are others that seem pricey. For example it costs about $14 for a 7 oz. salmon, but for 7 grilled shrimp, you pay about $4. Overall it is pricier than most places. The atmosphere was great, the tables were clean and there is plenty of room to enjoy your meal.

Ive always has good food here. Today I at here twice in one day. And yes Im a normal sized person. Their food is always hot and not badly priced especially considering you dont have to tip. The lemon pepper fish, the fried catfish, and the fried shrimp are all delicious. I also tried their new teriyaki honey salmon and shrimp and they were really good as well. One time they forgot to put a shrimp cocktail in my bag but Im always getting there 30 minutes before they close so I dont blame them. Havent had a negative experience yet.
