Today, Jun 31,2011, I went for the 3rd time to the restaurant and i was told to have a sit and wait, It was me, my wife and my 3 children, So thats 5, First of all The Bad Attitude Girl in the Front Desk wasnt writting a list of waiting guest, so i saw some party of 3, and 4 getting sitted and i ask for my table she told me it was getting ready then after 5 min cleaning the table i tought i was going to get call and a family of 5 comes true the door and they get sitted first than me waiting for 25 min. And my wife got mad and told me lets go find another restaurant with better service, before that they ask me for menus for my 3 kids and 2 adults, So they know we were 5, When we Stand up to walk out, This Bad Manners Lady ASk me to Wait and Stay and I told Her that This Was Enogh, You just sit a party of 5 in front of Us, Whats going on and she start like feeling sorry and follow us to the Lounge area Asking Us to Go back and we say No, and She goes I tought you were waiting for a Table for 10, Come on we were there waiting for 25 min, I think She was being RACIST Because in first place She Talk Spanish To Us Since a Lot of people from Mexico Is Visiting This Restaurant, She Must Hate Good Looking Mexican People, Ill never go again I LIKE THE FOOD, BUT THE STAFF (FRONT DESK IS BAD(RACIST))

Our experience at Pappadeux was not wonderful but not horrible either. We were a party of 10 and had been told that it would take an hour to get a table. We all sat outside and had a few drinks and enjoyed the live music. Once the hour passed, we began to question the server as to when we would be getting our table. We arrived a couple of hours early because we were going to a concert at the arena. We figured we would have plenty of time to enjoy our dinner. It took almost 2 hours to get our table. The food was amazing! Had we had more time, things would have been fine. If you plan on taking home your left overs, make sure you have another 20-30 minutes because thats about how long it took for our server to get our box to us. They do not give you the box to fill yourself. They take your plate and place your food in the box for you. I will definitely return to the restaurant, however, with no other plans for the night. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff is just as wonderful. I do recommend the restaurant but make sure you have plenty of time to relax and expect to wait.

Can you say HORRIBLE service!!! We just went to pappadeux and had the worst experience EVER!!! first my boyfriend and i get there and ask how long is the wait for a party of 5 they say 20-25 mins so we decide to stay... well my family gets there like 30 mins after and we were still waiting! and while were waiting we decide to have some drinks but the bartender NEVER even acknowledged us. Finally we wave her down ( and thats because she was helping a couple next to us!)Well she took forever to bring back the drinks and helped out other people who got there way after us and they got their drinks IMMEDIATELY! So we wait for another 15-20 mins and I go ask the hostess and shes like "ummm ohh yea youre next" and she asks some other guy where they can sit us and he said " just sit them in my area" but not in a nice tone! To top it off... it took them about another hour to take our order!!! it was just TERRIBLE!!! ohh and we had the alligator appetizer and it was extremely salty!!

(Pharr/Mcallen) The food is enjoyable but the wait to get a table for large parties is unacceptable. We had a group of about fourteen last night and we were over three hours waiting for a table. When we were called for our table, we were short four seats and part of our party had to wait a while longer to be seated. Most of the food order was great. We had a steak that was cooked completely wrong and it took quite some time to get it replaced with no offer to make a correction on the check. There was a long delay in getting our checks. When they did arrive, my check was missing two copies, come to find out my check had been given to another party. The music and the patio area is great, however you can not order food on the patio yet. We were able to order some appetizers from the inside bar and bring them out to the patio. The food prices are on the upper end but the food is usually worth it.

The food was really good. And I really enjoy spending time with my family , but the service was HORRIBLE. The waitress had little or no interest in providing FRIENDLY service. She turned us down to take a family picture , she did not provide refills, she didnt bring back take out boxes, and it took a few requests to get a 2nd bag. The time she spent at our table was in under 30 seconds per stop. We were a family of 6. And lastly when my sister went to speak to her, she spent about 5 minutes talking and laughing with other patrons who were sitting outside. The Manager on duty did tend to my sisters concerns but we all walked away feeling cheated. The whole purpose of eating out tonight was to spend time together and make it memorable. And what a memory! I supposed Im glad I didnt get a picture at a place inadequate service seems to be allowed.

This Cajun Seafood joint is by far the best place Ive ever went to. Not only was the food quick, it was done to perfection. I had the sampler platter and the food melted in my mouth and was smooth as silk. The views are amazing except for the natural lighting close to the windows, pick one further out because its a beautiful place. The atmosphere was top notch and the service was exceptional, fast, great people. At lunchtime, this place has a few tables with people but I heard that on the weekends during the evenings, its packed. There are a looot of tables though, and to be honest, it was extremely worth the drive from Edinburg. Ill be heading here every friday rather than red lobster. This place is a must-goto

This is probably the most popular seafood place in town. Its extremely over priced and always crowded. I have attended a few birthdays, the food is great but like I said before prepare to spend a good $30 for a small plate of shrimp. The staff is friendly and waitresses are always very attentive. The bar area is nice, their drink menu is great. I usually order a martini. I am very picky with seafood and have not been disappointed. They have FRESH seafood. They also have a patio are where they have live music. This place is nice for a FIRST date. On a Sunday they have a waiting list of about 15 to 30 minutes. It seems like all of McAllen comes here for lunch.
