This place was absolutely terrible!!! Let me be clear, Im usually very forgiving when it comes to restaurants and service, but I cannot give this place more than 1 star. We seated ourselves and ordered drinks. 2 beers and a water. We waited at least 10 minutes for our very simple drink order. Ordered appetizers and food. Shrimp Diablo was pretty good. It wasnt too spicy for my taste and had an okay flavor. Also ordered a dozen raw oysters and a dozen ranchero oysters. There was so much dirt on our oysters, like I cant even explain it. After we cleaned them ourselves, they were okay. The ranchero oysters were just as disgusting, just covered up with pico and cheese. After we finished the apps, it still took forever for the food to come out. Same exact seasoning on 3 different dishes. Before the entrees were served one of our guests asked for a second beer and never received it. The waiter asked him if he wanted another AFTER he finished his food, but at that point, we were just ready to get out of that hell hole. Wanted to try this place out because it had almost 4 stars on Google, but I totally regret it.

I went to go visit my friend in Austin at the beginning of the month and she took me to this place one afternoon. It was such an experience. First, you walk in and see that the place is decorated to the nines with the most eclectic stuff, and sports stuff...they have the TV set to ESPN. There were several people that helped wait our table throughout our meal and were all very nice. We actually got to meet the owner and GM and were happy to see how excited they were about their restaurant and recipes. We tried several things - I love seafood and wanted to make my friend try new things. We started with the Gumbo and Crawfish Etoufee. Both did not disappoint; very delicious and the perfect amount of spices. Next we had to try the oysters - that was funny teaching her how to eat them. We went with the classic Rockefeller and then the Rancheros. Both were so amazing. To round out the meal we had the Shrimp Diablos. Now these were spicy. Very delicious, but spicy! Overall our visit was very pleasant and loved the cozy little place. I want to go back with the weather is better and sit on the patio!

We tried this restaurant today, and was impressed with their pitcher prices. The restaurant facility is quite old and plain; however they do keep it clean. The chairs and tables are 1980s style; however I could care less because I went to try their seafood. I have to admit, I was not happy about the pricing, for which I would pay the same at The Aquarium in Houston, TX. Their prices are around the same as Red Lobster, if not more; however the pitcher prices made up for it. I ordered a side-salad; however the veggies were room temperature. The veggies were indeed fresh; however 80 degrees or so. We got our Catfish and Broiled Flounder entrees; however both had the farm-raised taste. I wasnt too happy about that, but you live and learn. We will definitely go back for the pitcher; however not so sure about the food. Overall, not a bad choice for this part of the State; since good seafood is hard to find in this area. Thanks.

My husband and I went out there last night for a quick dinner. We have always gone there, at least once a month. We noticed the last couple of times that the same nice older gentleman waiter was not around. He was always attentive. First of all, nobody really greeted us and some waiter motioned with his head to come on in and take a seat. Two waiters around, and only about 3 tables. They then proceeded to ignore us for the next 10 minutes. It wasnt like they were really busy. Not even a glass of water or a menu. We got up and left. We found another restaurant in downtown Round Rock: Louisiana Longhorn Cafe. Those people bent over backwards to make our dining experience wonderful. Well, guess where well go next time? We would have been better off going to Long John Silvers. Everything is previously frozen and overcooked. Just horrible. The raw oysters were suspect and I regret eating them. I have had to stay very close to the toilet. There are young children(7-10yo) milling around behind the counter in close proximity of the seafood after they crawl around on the floor like dogs. There is a rude, elderly lady who wanders around and looks at you with a deep, uncomfortable stare as she takes your drink order then disappears. I do not know who my server was. I do not know how this place stays in business. Everything is horrible. The worst experience of my life. Do NOT eat here.

The food was okay but the service was very lacking. They werent really very busy when we first walked in, and we were ignored, and so I asked the person behind the counter if we need to wait to be seated and they said they something unintelligible. The gumbo was pretty good after adding hot sauce , and the etouffee was decent. When my friend ask for a knife the waiter said okay, and walked off and didnt get him one. My friend had to get up and get it himself. It just seems like they were very disorganized. We usually go to the Deckhand but wanted a change of pace, guess that was a mistake. It also seemed a little expensive for what you got.

If youre going to go here, I guess you need to stick with the oysters and beer, per the other reviewers - personally, I had fried seafood and no booze, and was disappointed. My catfish was astronomically hot and mushy in texture; the shrimp was meh. And despite practically being the only people in the restaurant, it took ages to get our food cleared and get the check. (The staff were nice enough, just slow.) I always hate posting a bad review, but after hearing people say good things about this place, Im sorry to say I wasnt impressed. Again, maybe the thing to do is stick with oysters and beer if you go.

Not good. Shrimp Diablo was the best thing but still not that great. Oysters were extremely dirty and u could see the workstation right behind the bar. Filthy and maybe half a sec of water rinse. Ranchero oysters were alright but still got chunks of dirt in my mouth. Snapper was not very good and the rice tasted like uncle bens from a box. They used the same seasoning on everything. Not worth it. Better off going to long Johns or HEB and making your own food.

This is homestyle. I had the snapper on special with crawfish and blackened veggies. I liked it. I liked the shrimp mushrooms bell pepper and onion that comes in the rice as well. My husband had catfish which I have never tasted seasoned in that way. I think if you're already accustomed to hispanic food you would not notice the difference. Overall we liked it. :) We sent the oysters back. But service was great , very home like setting. And wasnt too cold.

This place looks like a unmemorable little diner from the outside. It isnt spectacular, but it really isnt trying to be. It has fantastic burgers - imagine blue cheese stuffed inside the burger - and this incredible honeyed corn bread that is served in a cast iron pan at the table. Also, Ive never in my life asked for a refill of of a "side salad" but theirs was so good, I had to. Skip the ridiculous lines of its mediocre neighbors and give this place a try..
