First things first - walking up to the place, I like the decor. Inside, that continues with exposed brick, wood planks on the wall, exposed ceiling, and custom-made tables. Ordering the burger didnt take long since I made it during non-rush time. Upon recommendation from the hostess on what Food Network reviewed, I got a Western Burger, split order of twisted fries and sweet potato chips, and soda. Burger: all burgers are cooked Medium Well. This is a mistake to me, because Medium well is usually Well Done at places like these. It wasnt all the way Well Done, but being cooked this much made my burger overcooked and over-dry. I liked the combination of onion straws, jalapenos, pepperjack cheese and bacon, but the burger was overall unimpressive. Nothing I couldnt get in a more-moist fashion from somewhere like Whataburger. Fries/Chips: The fries remind me of Ore-ida Curly Fries. In other words, not original (they very well could be ore-ida). The chips are a great idea! Many of them were delicious. Unfortunately, many of them were also burned. Burned sweet potato = not good. Those not burned were great, but theyve got to not be burned... Soda: The most redemptive property of this experience. I tried two beverages - both unique to Twisted Root. First, the Sweet Watermelon Tea. Very good and a neat "twist" on something we see a lot of. Second was the Twisted Root Beer. I tried what I believe (from the sign) was Butter Pecan Root Beer. I liked that a lot - VERY unique taste, very delicious! Overall: Presentation was good, atmosphere was good, food was nothing Id go back to pay 12 bucks for again. Worth a one-time try, but not a return visit.

Great food, great prices ! Get maximum food at a great price. Why spend similar amounts at any fast food chain and get severely less quality food when this place gives you gourmet style burgers and fries with excellent pricing. I believe a kids meal here is about the price of a kids meal at any chain place with far better food options. Ground turkey nuggets are awesome kids choice, heck I loved them. I see some reviews label this place as pricey but you truly taste the quality of the beef. Not a fatty cut and the upgrades are all worth it. I had a half lb burger with premium beef for about 10 bucks...say no more. Drinks are great and pickle bar is a nice touch. If you enjoy dessert they have that and they makeem fun with additions of Adult beverages available. The staff is super friendly and the the lines move fast. Hey the lots of shroom is my pick and upgrade to the local wagyu beef for a nice cut of meat.

Dont bother. Had the basic cheese burger and it tasted and looked like a frozen patty. Dont know how they say these are homemade. The fries were frozen, not homemade and you can get better fries from Whataburger or McDonalds. Ordered the fried pickels and they were good, but the amount you get for $3 is less than a handfull. Atmosphere was OK, but for the high prices you are much better off going to Denton County Independent Hamburger, Kinkaides, Johnny Bs in Southlake, Ponder Steak House, etc. I hate to say it, but McDonalds has a better burger than this place. I like the concept of the resturant area in Roanoke, but we have been very disapointed in every resturant we have tried there. Everything is very trendy, but very poor service and way over priced. Even the girl who took our order here was rude. The only positive? They have Dublin Dr. Pepper on tap.

First time to try out restaurant. Young lady taking orders needs help on customer service. Not friendly and the entire staff was just rude. She was put off by taking orders: rolling her eyes and making under the breath commits. When the order taker forget to add ranch to an order and I asked if I could receive the ranch dressing. Her response was defensive, rude and argumentative. Stating you never order ranch and started arguing about the order. The manager was standing watching the whole event and I brought this action to her attention. She had No problem with the young lady being rude to the customers. I informed the manager that we will never return and I will let everyone know about how poor the service is. Her response WAS "Who cares" My Family Well NEVER RETURN.

When taking the family out, I often have to look for something everyone will enjoy. I have to consider kid friendliness, outside eating for a little run around time, a place my husband will enjoy his "manly foods" and I will not feel so overwhelmed. Twisted Root brings just that feel. The music is good, the burgers are good, and the atmosphere is amicable for the kids and the adults. The only draw back is you may burn a hole in your wallet! This aspect alone can make the whole experience leave you feeling disappointed. They charge you an arm/leg for absolutely every aspect of the burger, fixings, and sides. Unless the burger blows my mind, I dont feel it is worth all the expense. However, I still give it a 3-star rating for its great family atmosphere.

Went there on 12/26/11. Receipt time stamped at 7:28. Burgers were served at 8:10. I went to ask prior to that and were shown my burgers in the queue. They were standing there for at least 15 minutes, drying out, getting cold and losing flavor. When we got them there were no tomato on the burgers. I went back to ask for tomato and were told that one has to specify if one wants tomato. You dont have to specify lettuce or onion, but you do have to for the tomato, even though there are no visible notices inside the restaurant saying so. My beer from the ice tray was not very cold when I purchased it, but it was definitely less cold by the time we got our food. For $40, not soon - there are other places around.

I acctually very ashamed of this establishment, I use to love comming to eat here but I was very disappointed with my last visit. I ordered my usual favorite burger and an order of fries, when my order was ready I was floored. In the past an order of fries normally covered every inch of the platter. This time there were about 20 fries on my plate. This wasnt an error either, my fiancés order came out the same way. She was also disappointed in the margarita she ordered, for the price of it there was very little if any alcohool in it. Im extremely disappointed in lack of portions that this place was once known for. I will not be goin back, for the money I think you better off going to In-n-Out

What a fun place! This restaurant/burger bar was a cool place with a fun and funky menu. Im a big fan of restaurants that are proud to have strange combinations on burgers, apps, even interesting takes on shakes/desert. The ingredients were high quality and you could taste the love they put into everything. We ordered the Girl Scouts Thin Mint shake, amazing! My hubbs got a meat burger and was very happy! Now, the one tiny piece of bad news, the veggie patty wasnt good. The rest of the veggie burger was amazing but the patty was dry and I actually pulled the patty off and ate my burger as a loaded monster grilled cheese sans patty, and this is the only reason for the 4 star review.
