VERY underwhelming. This place has steadily gone downhill. Went here because it was close. Wont be back. Sushi was full of "crunch" even after I purposfully ordered sushi that did not have "crunch". The gyoza was was burned and the beer was warm. Service was pretty non-existent. When our appetizers, oops, excuse me, half of the appetizer came out, they never brought any plates and the person with me had to eat hers off her napkin. We would have asked our waiter, but was MIA for about 20 minutes. The other half of the appetizer came out at when they were bringing out the sushi. Thank heavens the lady that brought the sushi did notice we were out of water, and the 1 napkin that my friend had used with the appetizer was soiled. Oh and the 1 round of beer was warm. Needless to say, we will not be back. After the steady decline, really afraid what else they might mess up next if we did decide to return. I figure the next step mighy be a little food poisoning........ummmmmm..........nope. I think will pass on that.

Restaurant is only open from 5pm-9pm for dinner. Arrived early and waited for location to open. Went inside and noted that it was just 1 person to be seated and was seated at a booth. When I went to place my order, I noted I wanted hibachi. Instead of asking me if I wanted to sit at the hibachi table, they left me in the booth. The food was on par with mall-quality Chinese food--especially the fried rice. I was brought medium steak, when I prefer medium rare. (They never asked me how I wanted it cooked.) And there was no shrimp appetizer and I was given 1 napkin at a time? My total meal was over $30~. I would expect this type of behavior from a Chilis.

Despite what others may say, I know for a fact that the portions at this restaurant are smaller than similar places in the Metro area. Ive dined at them all, and this place was disappointing. They give a small bowl of fried rice, less meat w/ the hibachi grill entree, and their prices are quite a bit higher for sushi (almost $5 more for the Dynamite Rolls when compared to Bonsai!!!!!). I certainly wont be going back. What a rip-off.

I love the sushi at Takara! A previous review said that Takara doesnt have Dynamite rolls but I eat the Dynamite rolls ALL the time! The Dynamite rolls are fabulous and have a nice mild spicy kick :) The habachi grill at Takara is kind of pricey but I feel that the sushi is very fair priced! Also, the sushi selection is more extensive than most habachi places! Thumbs up to Takara sushi!!!

The food is decent, and the sushi is authentic, and the atmosphere is nice, but its not as flavorful as other Japanese restaurants Ive been to. The main reason for my low rating is they DO NOT HAVE LUNCH PRICES AS ADVERTISED. They only serve (very expensive) dinner prices all day, despite advertising LUNCH prices online and in their menu.

The sushi was good, but the service was not. It took almost 2 hours from the time my wife and I sat down at our table to the time we paid for our food and left (we did not sit on the hibachi side), and we had a really simple order.

The waitress at the cash register always over charges me for my food! It never fails! Ive been here twice for takeout and both times she rang me up for something extra I didnt even order! Check your total if you plan to go here!

The BEST WONTONS I have ever had. Its worth going, even just for the wontons. The service is great. My son would eat there every night if he could. Takara is worth the quick drive to Clinton, by far. 5 stars all the way.

Best sushi ever! The chef takes great pride in what he does and it definitely shows! Try the Angel roll by far my favorite! Super inexpensive and wonderful! Rolls start at 4 bucks and go up to 12

Very good sushi. Have had both cooked and raw sushi here, both were excellent. Since it is one of the only sushi-serving restaurants in my area, I go here every time I want sushi.

Have been many times. Love the sushi every time. I usually get 4 different rolls between me and my wife each time and its not expensive at all.

Hibachi Food was a little bland but ok. Had to wait 30min for my daughter and me to eat. I would go back because its close to our house.

Way better than Bonsi 2!!! Sushi is best in Clinton! Very friendly and polite to children. Food is very good, service is 2nd to none!
