We went there a week ago and had to leave in tears. As a Muslim going with a Jewish friend. We love Japanese food and wanted to try authentic Japanese ramen. We love the taste of miso and we were hoping for experiencing a white cloudy broth. Sadly there were no options for us as everything has pork. It seems like this restaurant only targets 57% of the population to which are not Muslim or Jewish. We were offered vegetarian ramen on the way there and it did not taste good at all. We love meat and wanted to taste what everyone is tasting, but we cant. Its such a pain that the most popular things have prohibited ingredients. Seems like they dont know that some cannot eat pork..... We called in today about pork free miso ramen and still no options for us. This review will be removed as soon as this place gives muslims and jewish more options. * Tonkotsu made out of duck instead of pork * A thick, nutty miso ramen in chicken broth * Duck/Chicken Chashu * Dry ramen with chopped chicken * chicken katsudon * duck tonkotsu (pork-free) dipping broth

Unauthentic Japanese food. I ordered the age dashi tofu. I got 4 small chunks of tofu. Since I actually buy tofu, I can tell you that the amount they give you is maybe worth 50 cents of the 4.5 it costs here. Other restaurants who also offer this dish offer significantly larger portions. During my order, the waiter forgot my water. So after my appetizer was finished and my soup was more than half done a separate waiter asked me what I had ordered for my drink. Again for the vegetarian ramen I ordered, it was significantly smaller than expected for its price point. The quantity of veggies in the soup was also small. For the same price I could get twice as much Pho that is every bit as good. Ultimately, this restaurant is banking not on the value of the meals they serve , but the value of the "Japanese experience" they offer, which is good, but not 50% markup on all prices good. This restaurant appeals most to people who have no idea better is available.

Their food is good, but only good. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. I tried their karaage and tonkatsu ramen with extra braised pork. Good: Noodles were hearty and the perfect firmness Serving size was just right Good amount of chashu for the price The ok: Broth was much more bland than it should be Very few veggies Karaage, though I dont expect to find great ksraage in the states The bad: Chashu was dry, chewy, and had an odd flavor The ajitama was just a plain boiled egg Overall the food was just OK. Im willing to come back to try their tonkatsu curry and may bump up my review if thats good. If youre looking for tasty, authentic broth or great extras in your ramen you will be disappointed. For those that feel like noodles make the ramen this might be the place for you. The most authentic ramen Ive had stateside was Ramen Tatsuya in Austin, which was even better than one of the places I went to in Tokyo.

Terrible service, and mediocre food. Nobody greeted us nor acknowledged us when we walked through the doors. The waitress eventually pointed us to a table, only after we approached her. Then we waited at the table for over 25 minutes before I flagged her down to tell her we were ready to order. She never even asked us if we wanted a drink when she sat us down, if I hadnt said anything we would probably still be waiting there. Not once did she ask us how our food was or how we were doing, she never even brought us our check I had to go up to the male waiter to get it. The sad thing is it wasnt even a busy night. Dont waste your time or money here, go to Hanabi instead. The service is much better and so is the food.

My coworker and I frequent Ramen Hakata at least 2-4 times a workweek, and I have been back during a weekend. They also have a location in Addison, but the service is not as good. Janie, who is here during lunch during the week, is AMAZING, and always takes care of my coworker, Richard, and me. Each bowl comes out tasting the exact same as the day before. The dumpling are delicious. I cant think of a bad thing to say! We will continue to frequent as long as the food and service remain awesome. If you come during the week, ask for Janie, and say Kimmi and Richard sent you!

Clean! Chic! And quick! For $35 we had two drinks, one appetizer (tebasaki), and two entrées (gyudon and tonkotsu ramen). All items were served hot and fresh, the delicious Japanese style chicken wing appetizer is more than worth trying. The ramen was creamy, rich, and perfect with the additon of salt and Japanese pepper. I was impressed with the flavor and quick sear of the pork instead of other typical grey rubber! The gyudon, while certainly tastey, wasnt the mesh of flavors our pallets prefer. Altogether, thank you Ramen Hakata for a cheap and quality dinner.

Hakata ramen was pretty great. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming, but a tad inexperienced, but that can be forgiven considering how new the restaurant is. The atmosphere is fantastic, fusing a little modern flare with the charm of a small ramen shop you might find in little tokyo. I had the garlic miso ramen and loved it. Everything was very fairly priced; $38 for two appetizers, two filling bowls of ramen and two servings of mochi. Hakata offers many other flavors and types of ramen so I am excited to come back and try something new.

NEW LOCATION ALERT! Usually I get the Garlic Miso Ramen when I went to the one in Addison But I decided to change it up and try the super spice Kimchi Ramen. It was the best ramen Ive ever had no joke. Everyone at the table was jealous of how delicious mine was, and it is such a full bowl there was no way I could finish it. It also came out relatively quickly! Im pretty sure I woke up having lost weight from how spicy this delicious mess was. So, if you go, I 100% recommend this.

Atmosphere: 10/10 Staff 10/10 Food 11/10 Ive gone to the Addison location for a long time, and I flipped when I saw they were building a location right next to my house. I will keep this place in business myself if I have too! This is a great date spot, place to meet up, or grab a bowl to take home. Recommendation: Spicy Ramen & Hot Lyche Sake Do yourself a favor and try the place at least once.

I eat at Jakarta anytime Im in Lewsville! Their ramen is excellent and very flavorful. A single serving ll definitely leave you well fed. All of their appetizers are tasty too. They always come check on you to make sure you have all you need so youre always taken care of. All in all a great place to eat if youre into noodles. If you like their shirts be sure to ask for one. They sell them!

Was alright, but in no way for price. two things I ordered was shoyu ramen and the gyudon. gyudon had bunch liquid on bottom like really greasy meat. the ramen broth was really good but they use instant ramen like the stuff you buy for 50 cents. its good but not worth 13 bucks maybe like 6 bucks. if you used fresh noodles or at least better prepared noodles you would get a 5 star from me.
