I really wanted to like this place. Their prices are good, it is a reasonable drive from my place, and I like to support local restaurants. The first thing that just did not sit right with me was how "clean" the place felt. The decor is a bit dated and plain. That is fine for a local place. The big issue I had is they have fish tanks there and the first first tank you see had agile all over the glass and green water. Dated decor I can deal with but in a seafood place I need it to feel very CLEAN. This was just off putting from the start. I am not a neat freak and can put up with a lot at a good greasy spoon or burger joint but not at a seafood place. The service was fine for your general local place. Our server did her job and I had no complaints. I had hush puppies and their peal and eat ship. The hush puppies were fine. You get 8 quarter sized puppies and they were good. My shrimp left a lot to be desired. The Cajun seasoning did not penetrate well into the flesh and the shrimp themselves were rubbery and seemed over cooked. Given the number of high reviews of this place I will give it another shot in hopes I just showed up at the wrong time but it will not be anytime soon.

I used to always come here when my mom lived down here and I used to even come alone to eat, even did takeout a few times . . . But after today , they wont be seeing me for a nice, long while . The food is good and affordable , but todays experience was a turnoff . I dont know if it was because theres a new hostess/waitress or why , but my visit today wasnt cool . I ordered an appetizer - crab Rangoon, blackened salmon salad, & potatoes . I waited well over 15 minutes before I was told by the owner that they do not have any crab Rangoon . She asked if I wanted anything else I said no , just my salad . Waited again for a long time before that came out . Meanwhile , an elderly couple behind me, came in, ordered and received their salads quick ! Not long after , their shrimp scampi was being brought out to their table . So yea , food is good , but when I spend my money at places , I need to the service to be just as good .

They really cheap out on the seafood. Catfish plate had two pieces, but each piece is cut down the middle and also sideways, so half a filet total from the two pieces compared to market catfish. It was the thickness of maybe two tortillas and mostly crust. Microwave fish sticks from Kroger is maybe twice as thick lol. The scallops were cut sideways. It was a quarter size but maybe two tortillas thick. Didnt taste bad but not superb, but i can get over double the amount of seafood for the same price at fish and tails. Cost me $27 for two dishes but really felt like $13 (if that at all) would be more reasonable for how little seafood they give. Might as well have gone to Long John Silvers... Would have been less than half the price for roughly the same thing. Service wasnt too bad though.

Food was prepared well, but wasnt awesome. Price was good. BYOB/W was great. Corking fee on menu said $0.75 but they charged $1.50. Most of the reason for losing two stars is that they were really inflexible in the kitchen working with my toddlers food allergies. The waitress was good, and tried, but the kitchen staff left quite a bit to be desired. My wife ended up going home to get some food he could eat. I get the impression that some of the food isnt prepared to order. Also, our food didnt all come out at the same time, and they werent even that full. It took about five minutes for all of us to finally have our meals once they started trickling out.

This restaurant doesnt get much attention being hidden back in a strip center. But its always busy. The locals know it is an excellent place for seafood. I went with friends last night and was not disappointed. Ive been to the place several times and the best part is that the food is very consistent. I know when I go that I wont be disappointed. Bring your favorite wine as they are BYOB which is great because you can save a lot of money that way. Very good place.

Having just moved here from Southern Louisiana, I was in the move for some seafood and upon a quick Google search found this hidden gem right by me. Food was outstanding, I had the clam strips, fried catfish and fried shrimp. Very very friendly staff and the food was amazing, not 100% like back home but far far better than expected. This is definitely going to be my local seafood hot spot. Love it and will be back!

this place is KILLER. The food is always consistently really good. Prices seem too low, but I tip the friendly waitresses 30% because of perfect service, fantastic food and did I mention BYOB!! We bring in a12pk and 2 bottles of wine and have a blast. I love the whole trout but the Diablo is really good too. Locally owned and has always been clean and friendly.

Considering that I came in an hour before they close, the service was good. It was not busy at all and the food was ok for a seafood restaurant. I ordered calamari and fried fish, the rub they put on the fish felt a little grainy, but the overall taste was ok. It is a nice little place for a quick lunch or dinner, not fancy not fast food.

The food isnt bad, but its not great either. Presentation is really lacking for the food. I hate to spend $15-20 for something that looks like I couldve made it at home. Overall, this place is just "meh". There are many better restaurants to choose from in this price range, so I dont think Ill go again.

Wish I could give 0 stars. The best waitress they have ever had (5 years of super great dedication and service) they simply hired other waitresses to replace her because she is 5 months pregnant. Shame on you. Never going back. Hope your business fails.

How did this get such a high rating? Lovers of Lubys and Furrs cafeteria probably really like it here. We got 3 grilled dishes, that was probably our mistake, better stick with fried here. We left quick and consoled ourselves at Braums...

Very disappointing. I could count the pieces of seafood in the sauce, there was so little. Someone else said their dish was bland and the sauce thin and watery.
