First of all be aware that unless you park in the garage its valet only and $7 to boot. Its a warm and comfy Art Deco atmosphere and quiet enough. Yes youll see the clientele from the Westin ambling in looking like tourists. But thats okay. I had their signature Manhattan to start. Not bad but a tad heavy on bitters. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari. There wasnt much of it to be found amongst the fried jalapeño rings- which seemed odd. Just a couple of tentacles a few rings. The floor manager came by and seemed to be quite proud of them though. We had the swordfish, nicely done with a generous portions of potato purée. So far this was going all right though not what Id call spectacular. Our waiter though fairly attentive was a bit of an oddball. I asked what hed suggest a wine and he answered "You want a white?" No I want you to tell me. Ended up with a blanc. Later he passed by and asked if wed been to another high-end seafood restaurant. Yes we had. So he went on to tell us he once worked there. Im supposed to know this because...? Just oddly off putting and unexpected is what it was. But not a bad experience. We may return- or not.

PLEASE READ!!!!!!! This was the worst restaurant experience I have had in the Dallas area. Let me start by saying this is the only bad review I have ever taken the time to write. To begin, the waiter didnt even come around for at least ten minutes. The food was horrible. We started with the bad calimarri which was clumped together and very bland. I ordered the sword fish blackened that was cooked wrong with absolutely no flavor at all. My wife ordered a salad that was soaking wet and also horrible. It was unacceptable. Before leaving I told the manager that I was upset about taking my wife out and she was starving after driving to this "Fancy Restaurant". He then told me he is going to take care of something on the bill. He returned with a bill for 50 dollars. I hate complaining but I hate more waisting my money. I gave the server and his assistant 20% tip. We stopped at IN and OUT burger on the way home so that my wife was not starving. I AM SURE THE OWNER OF THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT APPROVE OF THIS TYPE OF SERVICE. Overall looks good, but horrible Management, horrible Chef, and most important a waste of money.

We have been here twice and have had a good experience each time. Our last visit was for our anniversary. They printed the menu with Happy Anniversary across the top. Nice touch! I had the Swordfish Dynamite and my wife had the Halibut. Both were delicious. We also tried the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Delicious! For dessert, which was complimentary, we had the Baked Alaskan. The server pours the lighted whiskey over the top to create an inferno. Great presentation! Unfortunately the presentation does not match the taste. The Baked Alaskan is three layers of ice cream (vanilla, strawberry and vanilla) on top of a thin layer of pound cake. Too much vanilla for my taste. I think there needs to be a layer of chocolate ice cream to create a Neapolitan flavor. Also, I would recommend using vanilla beam ice cream. We will definitely be back.

Just thought I should let everyone know about our experience last night at Oceanaire, especially the Manager of the restaurant. There was 7 of us in our party, and everyones fish entree was horrible!! We were shocked and embarrassed to say anything. Tough, dry, over cooked, scary presentation! We are all big seafood lovers. But after last night, i doubt I will eat it for a while. What happened to the chef??????? we have been there before, and the food was fine. My nieces steak wasnt even cooked right, we did send that back to be prepared med rare instead of charred! Nice atmosphere, and a good wedge salad, but we will never go back. Thats for sure, especially at those prices, I mean ,come on!?

I have been going to the Oceanaire for the last 6 yrs about 8-10 times a year. NEW administration has it all wrong!! Place was EMPTY! From the music to the menu and details like the cloth towels in the bathroom to the menu items like fries, green beans and baked Alaska, everything has and is changing!!! WT?? New owners (Lawndrys) think that they can make money just riding the name the bought and downgrading the operation, hello... bean counters... wrong strategy guys! why do you think it was successful before?!? bottom line: bar is still a nice place to make money but mediocre quality food and amenities at a very premium price just does not fly with the Dallasites. hello....

WOW! You have to order the Chicken Fried Lobster! Yes you heard me right.. Chicken Fried Lobster! It is to die for. Just in case, I ordered a filet and even though it tasted great, after trying my wifes Chk fried Lobster, I was wishing I had ordered it also. Unfortunately, we were not so impressed with the Asparagus, it was very limp and mushy. We also tried the Bacon Brussels Sprouts, they were a bit dry. We ate very little of either. We mentioned it to the staff but all he said was I will bring it to the cooks attention. We love the atmosphere and drink selection. Having the mall right there is good for a nice walk after your meal.

Everything at Oceanaire is beautiful; the building, the hostesses, the bar, the decor, the tables. Beautiful. The menu was personalized for my girlfriend and I when we sat down. The oyster selection is extensive. The cocktail list was very upscale including a barrel-aged Old Fashioned which was the best I have ever had. The menu is creative and the shareable side dishes were rich and delicious. This place is pretty pricey, so its perfect place to take that special someone to dinner if you really want to earn some points. If it is you and a friend, you might want to save your money and go to Olive Garden or something.

Nathan our waiter was absouletly wonderful! Beatiful atomosphere and ambience. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because. We order a custom tower of oysters ( chef choice, they were okay) shrimp ( a great size), ceviche ( absouletly delicious) and crab claws ( they was very small crab claws). The tower was okay, but we expected a little better like Mastros. Overall the food was good, not great. The bread served was nothing really speacial, and they give you a assortment of a cold veggie try. The tray had random veggies, which really did not go together. But nice to have overall.

The food was great. Had the chicken fried lobster omg taste was so amazing. Also the crab cake is so good. Had a problem when I walked in the manager came right out and fixed the problem and made sure our service and food was amazing. I would recommend this place any day of the week. Hands down one of the best seafood restaurants Ive ever eaten at and Im from the go old streets of New Orleans so I think I know a good meal or two. Lol. Great staff super clean and just a great place to eat. A must try
