I love eating at Pappadeux and I have for years. Unfortunately, yesterday, I did not have that great of an experience. I came in around 3:11 pm or so, and placed a To Go order for a cup of gumbo and a salad. I stood for quite sometime at the To Go area waiting to be waited on. Then, when I finally was waited on, the woman took my order and then had difficultly using the register so she had to go to the bar. So, I sat at the bar, for quite a time waiting on my meal to be ready. Not one time, was I offered a drink by anyone, it became apparent that customer service on this day left a lot to be desired. A guy came up along side of me, yelling, saying that he had been waiting for a drink and that he demanded one now. The thing that I do not understand, is why the customer service was so bad. Why did I have to wait so freaking long to have my order taken at the To Go area? Why did the employees at the bar appear frazzled with less than 5 customers at the bar? It was soooo NOT busy, there were dozens of open tables, a few folks sitting at the bar, and there were even two open booths. The parking lot had plenty of spaces; I was able to park right in front of the door upon arrival. Again, it was not busy at all; there was no excuse for such a long wait for me to place my To Go order and there was no excuse that I sat at the bar for nearly 20 minutes with not one person offering me a drink or acknowledging my existence, along with the random guy who began to yell that he had been waiting for a drink and demanded one now. Nowadays, customer service can make or break an establishment. The food at Pappadeaux is always good, but a tad on the expensive side if you miss out on lunch. There are some other restaurants in the DFW area, that serve similar food now, but are less expensive with pretty good customer service. I hope that Pappadeaux doesnt fall to the wayside due to the poor customer service because this isnt the first time that I have had a bad experience at this particular restaurant.

Wow!! 1st time here and JUST WOW!! A little wait (15min) for an inside table. We sat in the patio because it was soooo nice outside & quieter than inside. Ordered the Pappadeauxs October 30th Birthday Celebration Seafood Platter. Came with 2 seriously big catfish filets (My friend got the other option of Tilapia filets), large pile of excellent fries, a big ol crab cake, 3 big fried butterfly shrimp, a stuffed crab & a huge stuffed shrimp!! Did I say WOW? Hot, crisp & oh so delicious. Everything seemed freshly prepared, nothing frozen here!! Tartar sauce & shrimp sauce perfect except for the little paper cups but gave us all we needed!! Tea very fresh & perfectly brewed. Our table was visited by both the restaurant manager & the area manager (who had stopped in to see if he could help..he actually was bussing tables!!) Both very nice & professional! Server did a great job keeping an eye on us in case we needed something but not constantly asking if we needed anything. Music on patio was lovely & upbeat. Customer service was exceptional...no kidding!! We couldnt finish our platters....needed to save room for the Limited Time only...Bananas Foster Cheesecake & 7 Layer Chocolate Cake but still had to take it home. We were sooo stuffed. Even at the normal price, is an amazing value but for October, its half-priced Tues & Weds for their 30th birthday! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Oh, I forgot to say WOW!!! Yallre gonna be so happy and stuffed, Im telling ya!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAPPADEAUXS!!! Bye now!!

If I could give it half a star I would. The food is good. The management and hostess staff are HORRIBLE. I asked to sit outside around noon on a nice weekend and the hostess said that there was no waiters for outside. Not even an hour later there was a bunch of people. When I asked why people could be seated out there now and not when I asked they made a comment that someone had a DOG. So it wasnt that they didnt have waiters to wait on us it was the fact that they did not want to seat us there but were willing to for another person because they brought an animal to a restaurant. The hostess staff also made other excuses about opening later in the evening and needing the managers approval to open. When the manager Jordan Cain there got involved, who is VERY RUDE and had an ATTITUDE about the whole situation, she stated the " they open the patio when they CHOOSE to open it". Basically theyre stating they choose what cliental they want to open the patio to. Clearly she not high quality management, and her workers are as incompetent as she is; other wise she would have had a much better attitude towards her customers. Plus the fact that she did not even have decency to say sorry for the miss communication or SOMETHING, instead of trying to stare me down like thats not going to piss someone off.. NO, she states they open when they want to.

My wife and I love this place. Over 4 years of dining here and never an issue. Tonight was unacceptable. We arrived a little after 9 and there was a 15 min wait for inside dining. We asked for patio because the weather was so nice. First come first served we were told. No problem. We found a table and got our menus. No one came by to bus the tables or get our order. Looked busy, no problem. Then we are told the "section" we were sitting at for 15 min, was closed for the evening. Ok. No problem, we spotted another table. I ask a server is this table available. She tells she doesnt know because it could be closed. While she is placing food on the table next to the one in question. I ask again while pointing out she is actually serving a table in the same section. Again, we are told its closed while all the other tables are open. Really? Not even 10pm yet. Pappadeux, yall need to get on the same page with your staff. Better yet, include patio hours online and make it easier for us so we dont waste each others time. Tonight was a 1 star.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant! The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the fish are fresh! Their staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I must say, though, that many people waste their meals by choosing fried options. If you really want to best experience, try their fish filets with their signature sauces. The best sauces, in my opinion are the Yvette and the Alexander. Their bread and whipped butter always goes fast at our table. Their stuffed flounder is phenomenal, their sauteed crab fingers are amazing and their fondue is to die for. Finish it all off with their bread pudding or their creme brule and you have the best semi-fine dining experience from a restaurant chain you could ever have! Even the leftovers reheat tremendously well. I keep telling myself that I will try Pappas other types of restaurants, but we somehow always end up at Pappadeaux. Im not complaining!
