I want to start with its more of a 3 1/2 star rating. When you first walk in you are definitely taken by the ambiance. The classiness of the places eludes. They have a fairly big waiting space which is nice when you have a big party. Our table was ready immediately, which is a rarity at hopping places. They created special menus for me special event, but I was however not allowed to take one for my scrapbooking...a little sad. :/ The waiter came fairly quickly to take our drink orders and it was pretty quickly that bread and appetizers were served. I was impressed with the quickness in which everything was brought out. The calamari is by far the BEST thing on the menu. Even if you do not typically enjoy it, I highly recommend you trying it. It has sort of an Asian flare and has no chewiness. The crab cakes were also delicious. The sauce on top was a perfect amount. The goat cheese ravioli was also a surprising delight, although it was my least favorite. It is very rich and creamy. I enjoyed my prime margarita it was very tasty, but the waiter was a little snippy when I asked for a straw. He said none of their drinks came with straws but I could clearly see straws in every drink but mine...a little odd an unnecessary comment. Not a big deal though. The salads were served up after the appetizer. They were one of the bigger disappointments. I would always skip the salad here it lacked flavor and it was just to floppy and wet for me. The croutons had a funny after taste as well, but maybe its just me. I think the service so far was pretty on cue and we were well taken care of. Our meals came out and were prepared perfectly. Ordering a second drink to go with the meal was a little challenging but it happened in time. I ordered the filet which I was disappointed about having to order since seafood is my favorite thing on the planet. I was only allowed 3 choices because of our party size and I am sorry but for a top tier, pricy, fancy place this is UNACCEPTABLE! I would NEVER,EVER refer people here for their birthday, rehearsal dinners, anniversary, or retirement parties for that very reason. You pay for the choices and quality food with exceptional service. By saying that we can only chose between three items, tells me your kitchen is not equipped to handle events. With that being said, I enjoyed a 10 oz filet, which was cooked perfectly too much steak for me though. I like to stick to 6-8oz typically. It was a perfect cut of meat and the accompanying sides were great. I think the mashed potatoes were the best and the mac and cheese was okay but another skip item for me. It was a little heavy on the truffle oil. Overall, I look forward to trying this place again with just two people, so MAYBE I can try what I had originally wanted for my birthday. I think the service as far as waiters go was great, but the overall set up process not so much. I would check other places for big events of (10+ people). The food is excellent and a perfect environment for a great night.

Ive had constantly good service at Prime Ocean. Each time I go there I was seated quick, and attentive service I dont have anything bad to say about my experience however I was told to not expect much. I am glad to dispute that statement. OP is a sleek and dark "supper club". Waiters walk around in chefs whites/dinner jackets and seem to appear out of no where. I wanted to highlight their cocktails. Part of the appeal is that each cocktail is made to order with fresh squeezed juices. I ordered a signature cocktail gimlet. I am a sucker for Basil Gimlets, and after talking with my server he had the bar tender alter the traditional cucumber recipe for a outstanding basil one. (I even noticed that the drinks were strained as to not leave little bits of the herb in the drink). During one dinner, I had goat cheese ravioli. I mentioned off hand to my server that I love the smell of the truffle oil on the pasta. Later in the meal brought me a side of truffle butter for my stake. Way to pick up on the hints! After only three dinners here I feel like a real VIP, and am recognized by name. You can be sure Ill continue come when I have the chance. Its a welcome break from all the steak houses uptown is littered with. While their steak is good, its the fish that I found worth coming back for. Stand out meals include the goat cheese ravioli, sea bass, and French onion soup. If you like Reese cups then order the peanut butter dessert. Its basically a Reese cup the size of a hockey puck. OP has a healthy outdoor seating area, and is a great option for those looking for a cocktail after work with a trendy crowd. Eddy the manager, and Jeff one of the servers, will make you feel like the only people in the place. Make sure to give this a chance if your looking for a change from steak in uptown. 4 stars to Ocean Prime, great food, good service and a real focus on you as the client.

The restaurant is relative new, and it shows. Our large group was surrounded by scurrying waiters, yet somehow they managed to log a full hour between ordering and delivering a simple lunch. Worse yet, they broke the cardinal rule of service; never, ever serve some guests before others. We had members of our group totally finished with entrees while others had yet to be served. The confused waiters even started delivering dessert - only to be surprised to find out we hadnt had our entrees yet. The food was unremarkable; a bland crab sandwich (wrong bread) that tasted like tuna. Serving a foursome is easy, but the true test is a group and this restaurant failed decidedly. Im sure there are some delights on the evening menu, but I wont be back to find out.

This is a very beautiful place and my Red Fish was great... The fondu was very simple ( ive had much better) now the reason I give 2 stars, althought I enjoyed my fish I go out to enjoy GREAT SeRvice However the staff that was catering to our table didnt greet us as each sat, didnt discuss the menu as he did the other tables... Whenever I fine dine there is a certain expectation of superior service Honestly I believe it was because we where a group of minority women... An whatever sterotype that comes with that... Food was brought to us cold... General manager didnt accomodate us at all... For a 250 meal for 2hrs I and My friends should be treated like royalty from the moment I walkin the door until I live the establishment...

Fantastic experience start to finish. I dont typically post reviews, but I felt compelled after seeing the recent subpar reviews. Nick was exceptional and had just the right amount of attentiveness throughout. The ambiance was nice, but I was there for the food. The shrimp cocktail was phenomenal. A little pricey, but absolutely worth it. Then the main course...a 10oz filet. It was cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth good. Another member of my party had the ribeye and that was just as impressive. Finally, dessert; an enormous chocolate covered peanut butter mousse. As exceptional as the steaks were, the dessert may have exceeded them. Food was a perfect 10. I will be coming back the next time Im in Dallas.
