The interior decor is contemporary and warm with browns, yellows, white and stone. They have a climate controlled patio (ceiling fans and heating units) that is aesthetically located next to a fountain and separated from the indoor dining area by a large curved glass window and glass doors. The menus are well-designed, with pictorial descriptions of spicy and signature items. They also have vegetarian and gluten-free menus available, as well as ~40 different concoctions of margaritas available from the bar. The waiter started off by explaining the menu. Pretty much every item on the Santa Fe section of the menu is somewhat spicy. You also cannot mix-and-match the street tacos... I would assume this would be for efficiency reasons, and to avoid kitchen errors. I ordered some Chili Con Queso with added chorizo to go with the tortilla chips. The queso had some peppers blended in, and it was really flavorful and complemented the tortilla chips well. The chorizo was well-seasoned and added a nice dimension of flavor. They also put 2 different types of salsa in the same bowl (half of each), as if to encourage you to dip into both with the same chip. For the main dish, since it was my first time at this restaurant, I decided to go with a signature dish. Ive been looking for a restaurant with authentic Santa Fe style flavors, and I hit the jackpot by ordering the New Mexico Tampiqueña. The first bite didnt even get into the the best part of the dish (with blue corn tortillas, cheese and peppers), and I was already filled with warmth and joy from the flavors. The skirt steak was incredibly tender, and once it hits your tongue after being dipped in the sauces, you are transported directly to New Mexico. If someone were to ask you what it tastes like, the first thing that comes to mind is "Santa Fe." It really is the closest Ive found in DFW to authentic southwest/Santa Fe style cuisine, surpassing even contemporary options like Wild Salsa. Then you look at the price for this dish... $24. Dont worry about that... its a bargain since you dont have to deal with travel expenses to get authentic Santa Fe cuisine. Its worth every penny, and there are no regrets. For dessert, since I was incredibly impressed with Wild Salsas recipe for Flan, I just had to give Mi Dias a try. I was not disappointed. In terms of the core flavor of the custard, it is extremely close to Wild Salsa, with flavorful hints of vanilla bean cheesecake. But where it surpasses Wild Salsa is the texture. Ive never seen a better execution of Flan in terms of achieving proper texture than what I saw here. It was perfectly silky and not too gelatinous. The only thing I would suggest for improvement is to give people about 25-30% more of it. They topped it with some fresh whipped cream, delicious caramel and chocolate crumbles. The balance of flavors was near perfection, and the only thing that could potentially elevate it would be to offer a good fruit reduction for dipping on the side to accent the flavors. The service was solid, relatively timely and friendly, although they took a bit longer to process the payment and return the card. Mi Dia From Scratch will get a highly recommended from me.

Tex Mex of all Tex Mex The two major food groups of Texas...Mexican food and good old "Amurikan" cuisine. If you think that the "mexican" food youre eating at most Mexican spots are authentic Mexican, think again. Its most likely Tex Mex. Good ol Americanized Mexican food. Sipping on that tequila sunrise along with your free Guac and chips...yeah thats so American you might as well be shooting a gun in the air yelling "yee-haw"! But hey...if youre going to do it...do it in style...at Mi Dia. That Guac Though... Table side guac cart created as a "authentic" Mexican experience for Americans who need to know what goes in guacamole...let me give you a hint, its avocado. Its not American until you add that bacon...ohhh so fatty and crunchy bacon giving you that perfect bite of heaven. Textually perfect.

Drinks were inconsistent. The Paloma was served with lime twice at the bar, which is expected, but when ordered at the table it came out with a rosemary sprig. The red snapper ceviche was described on the menu as being in a spicy sauce but when it came out it tasted sweet and fishy. Not good and it was sent back. Service was mediocre. Oh and to top it all off, the "complimentary" valet just happened to be out of parking spots. So instead he tried to sell me a parking space for $10. How do you sell me a parking space if your valet is full? Seems like theyre trying too hard but just not hitting the mark.

The service we received was excellent. We asked for spicier salsas, drink recommendations, and a vegetarian menu, and they helped without missing a step. Unfortunately, the food seemed a bit lacking. The mix for the huitalacoche was nice, but the beans, quail and everything else were a little bland for out taste. Also the tableside guacamole was nice but at $15 way overpriced. Overall our experience was pleasant, but underwhelming.

We have been here several times for special occasions and food and service do not disappoint. Good salad bar and warm side dishes available but the meats are wonderful and varied from beef, pork, and chicken. We celebrated my sons birthday with a couple of his friends and they loved it! We barely saved room for creme brûlée and it was worth it. Good couples place, too, but nice to be able to take pre-teens and teenagers, too.

Do not miss the "Flan" for dessert at this restaurant. The Flan is firm and extremely creamy. The presentation is on a glass blown plate custom designed for this dessert. The coffee is also wonderful. Great place to go following a movie next door at Cinemark, West Plano. The dinning room is refreshing with a design that makes it intimate with booths with soft lighting. Meet Gabriel the owner, a nice guy!

Since they opened in December, Mi Dia from Scratch Plano has been consistently on point. Their Mexico-inspired dishes, combined with elevated versions of traditional Tex-Mex cuisine make it tough not to find something you love. Their staff is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced, and the management team is never too far, constantly making the rounds to ensure a stellar visit.

The chips and salsa rank pretty low on my list. I dont know if they are made from scratch. If they are then they need to use better scratch. The meal had a good flavor and the server was very good. The portion size was a little small for the price but not enough to complain. I would probably find somewhere else for lunch unless i was having a business meeting.

DELICIOUS FOOD AND GREAT ATMOSPHERE. We went here for brunch and got to sit outside on their gorgeous patio. Wasnt even noticeable that you were by a tollway because they had so much to look at and EAT. Great queso, salsa and chips. You are not going to get huge portion sizes here, but what you do get you will thoroughly enjoy! Definitely worth trying out.

This was my first time visiting Mi Día and I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, the staff, Max was our server and was very cordial and professional. The food was delicious, I ordered the Carnitas Michoacanas, the only item missing from the taquitos was the diced pineapple and of course the lime, other than that the only thing missing was The Mariachis!!!
