Flavorful would be the word I would use to describe my trip to Liberty Burger. I ordered the Chillerno burger. Its not much to look at, and is quite messy, but the flavors of the sauce, the cheese, and the peppers go together quite nicely. The bun was very high quality as well. I ate the fries with Libertys own chipotle ketchup sauce and that is an amazing sauce. It looks like they have a custom mustard and maybe some other custom sauces to check out as well. Having read many reviews, I was a little thrown off when the girl at the counter asked me if I wanted my burger with pink or no pink. I expected to specify "Medium Rare" or "Medium." I asked her if "pink" meant "Medium Rare" and she said yes but to be honest I dont think she really knew...pretty sure she just knew pink or no pink. Which is fine...Im used to that at Maple and Motor so I ordered it pink (fwiw, I prefer medium rare). My burger had spots of pink and by definition would be classified as a Medium Well burger. Given that, there is no way I could rate this burger on the same level of Maple & Motor. Still, the flavors overall were outstanding which is why I give this place 4 stars. (fwiw, I read a lot of reviews of people complaining that their burgers were too pink/rare...those burgers sounded like they were perfect). I dont get people complaining about the price. My burger and fries were $10.28 after tax. They werent stingy on the fries either. I could easily see people splitting an order of fries. For the record, I never order a meal with a soft drink and shame on you if you do. I was happy to see they had lemon AND lime to be used for water. Big thumbs up for that. I came to this location because its the original. Its in an older strip mall, but I think they did a pretty good job of livening it up some. The clientele here seemed on the older side, which is probably due to its location. The workers here seemed very young. Ill definitely come back to LIberty Burger. I would like to try their traditional liberty burger and am hoping to get a burger that is Medium Rare or at least Medium the next time I come.

My recent Dallas roadtrip was filled with many decisions.. The most important one was where to eat a burger with recently engaged friends. Strongly recommended, I selected Liberty Burger as my first choice. This highly regarded "family-owned and Texas-grown" burger spot was voted as the Best Burger in Dallas two years in a row by D-Magazine. But, do I agree?! Walking into Liberty Burger, I was excited to feast on one of their hamburgers made from a unique blend of never-frozen tenderloin, chuck and brisket. That day Liberty was featuring "The Austin Burger", blending their special patty with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, red onions, fried pickles and a Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce (Im not sure why this combination represents Austin), topped with a brioche bun, which is delivered daily by a local artisan bakery. Looking at this burgers photo on their "special menu marquee", which looked and sounded delicious, I was sold. At first bite, my taste buds were not amused, so I decided to cut the burger in half so I could see how it was prepared. The burger was a little too pink, rendering it undercooked. I could see the various meats (tenderloin, chuck, brisket) almost in layers, not even ground together. The brioche bun was flat, dry & tasteless, adding no flavor to the hamburger. As I continued to eat, the fried pickles flavor stood out above all else, and I barely recognized the presence of BBQ sauce. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing burgers I have ever eaten, given the hype, buildup, anticipation and accolades Liberty Burger has received. However, the side of sweet potato fries accompanying the burger were actually pretty good, so I did not leave totally unsatisfied. Fortunately, my weekend included a delicious burger at a July 4th celebration catered by The Burger Man. But, the next time Im in town, its back to The Burger House for my Big-D burger adventure!

We first noticed this burger joint when we had dinner at Uncle Julios. I like the fact that it doesnt look like the typical "all-American" burger place that Im quite accustomed to here in Texas. We finally tried this restaurant one Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, we were placed to our table immediately. Our waitress was too chatty for my liking, but she was nice so no big deal. They have a good number of burger varieties to choose from, so it was quite hard for me to make a definite order. However, once the burgers were served and we took our first bite - BAM! Were fans for life. The burger patty was well-seasoned, the bun soft and a little sweet, the ingredients fresh. After that great experience, we tried the place again to see if it was a fluke. To our pleasant surprise, it wasnt. So far, no bad experience - except probably for the 20-minute wait we had to endure during our second visit. But that was lunch time, so its quite forgivable.

My boyfriend and I ordered two beef burgers. I didnt realize it doesnt automatically come with cheese. So, make sure you order cheese with your burger. The burgers also come with lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle slice. My review of the burger: Overpriced and overrated. Also, I wanted cheese. The cashier shouldve asked when I ordered. The bread got mushy very quickly-- big turn off. I liked that the patties are made to order though. I ordered mine medium well. Good patty but terrible bread. My bfs review of the burger: The burger (patty well done) was ok. The fries were good. Definitely overpriced. Price: We ordered two burgers and two fries and no drinks. It was $19. Our order was carry out. I believe dine-in is a little more expensive. Bottom line: I wouldnt go there again: overpriced and burger wasnt even good. My bf would go there again: overpriced but fries are good.

My friend Mac once told me that I reminded him of a bald, brown George Washington. I teared up. It was the most beautiful compliment anybody had told me. I took it to heart, I decided to renew my USA citizenship... at the most patriotic burger restaurant joint in America. I found a really smelly judge that would partake. He was at some street corner in Deep Ellum carrying a cross yelling, "Lest ye be judged!". I had to bribe him with a free lunch at Liberty Burger. He said, "Snap son! You have rock?" I didnt know what he meant, so I played some Foo Fighters on the way here. Long story short, he didnt know how to renew citizenship, but the burgers were amazing. So fresh. Soft buns. Brisket inside the burger meat. I had the Wild Austin monthly special burger. Easily on of the best burgers in DFW. Now the guy is gone... where is my wallet?

This is a fairly new gourmet burger joint, but they have got it figured out. The burgers were AMAZING - juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly (med rare, upon request). The bun is so perfect, I cant even tell you. Its the perfect balance between structural support and tender, unobtrusive, light, flaky bread. It cradled the burger, and didnt try to overwhelm it (pay attention, Jakes). The toppings were fresh, and tasty and the cheese was real, not peeled from a plastic sleeve. We had the skinny fries, which were not greasy, but crisp and salted just enough, and the private micro brew root beer was delicious and creamy. Its a friendly atmosphere and we look forward to going back and trying some of the specialty burgers.
