First off, it should be noted that I am not a vegan and have never been to a vegan restaurant before. I am open minded but am quite a meat eater. The texas frito pie appetizer sounded pretty amazing and it certainly was. I gave it an "A" rating. It tasted very much like any other frito pie that was well made. Bravo to this. I could definitely see myself coming back and ordering this again. I also ordered a Beastless burger with a seitan patty and yucca fries. I liked the flavors they added to this burger which included hummus and grilled onions. I had never had a seitan burger before and I must admit that I am not a fan. It would be a hard sell for someone like me to enjoy a seitan patty when I like my burgers medium-rare..ie juicy with a good deal of pink in the middle. Thats just something that I dont believe can be replicated in a veggie burger. Since i wasnt a big fan of the patty, I probably would have preferred a smaller patty with more toppings, but thats just me. Also, I wasnt a huge fan of the bun, albeit it wasnt terrible. Id probably rate the burger a "C" but mostly due to the outstanding toppings on it. If I were to rate the patty, I give that an "F" unfortunately. Not a huge fan of the yucca fries. Frankly, I dont think Im a huge fan of them in general. Other things: they put a slice of cucumber in the water they pour. Its a Vegan restaurant and this makes a lot of sense. It gives water an added fresh flavor. Its just not the type of flavor I like. I much prefer lemons in my water (which were brought to me). Im not saying stop, but am simply expressing that its not my thing. My initial instinct was to go with the mac and cheese or chili cheese dog and thats what I should have done. After eating the Frito pie I figured thats probably too much chili but in the future I think I will go with these items. BTW, portion sizes here were not small at all. I was full after a few bites of the burger (After eating the frito pie appetizer). Also, I will say the crowd here was definitely different than what I see at other restaurants in Trinity Groves. Im not saying that as good or bad, simply that there was definitely a "vegan" feel to the crowd here. All of the workers seemed quite nice.

Good food. Service, leaves room to be desired. The food is always pretty good to excellent and has a beautiful presentation. But this is not about the food; its about the service. At the end of my meal I discovered a hair in my food under the last bit solid substance. After trying to determine through a little examination if the hair was mine (length and color ect) or not I decided to tell the waitress I was concerned about it ( basically inform the kitchen staff about a possible loose hair situation going on) but dont worry about it since I already ate all my food( If you knew me, youd know I eat like an vaccum the fact I didnt eat the hair is a miracle). The waitress comes back to inform me the meal would be "comped " and apologized for any inconvenience and took the plate. Then a minute later the Chef comes out and says "we will comp your meal but, it look like it was placed( hand gesture pointing to the hair) ... or blew in to plate you; know these open windows blow stuff in all the time ." I fell like he was trying to blame me the customer of foul play when I never asked for anything in return other than that they be diligent of hair for other customers. The check comes shortly after. I pay and leave. Then look at the bill on the way to the car and no Comps even tho both the waitress and manager confirmed they would. My gf was disgusted by the hair in the food went back in to ask about the comp but more importantly ask that they throw out the food since it doesnt appear they take random hair in food very seriously. To which the Chef manager stated " we did comp your scones". They were not comped it was a lie. I never asked for anything to be comped but if you say youre gonna do it and dont thats just not good customer service.

Went here for my girlfriends birthday as shes a vegitarian. Not a good experience. The food was not good at all, frankly it was inedible. Their main courses that are "imatation meat" are actually just mushrooms.... And not even good mushrooms at that. The imatation brisket was gross, cant even describe the taste, they I serve it with a really strong cilantro-basil aoli to try and cover up the taste. I suppose theres a reason they dont give a description on the menu of what youre actually getting. We left the place with 4 plates that werent even touched and a 93 dollar bill. Our server was kind but a bit impersonal and awkward, and not in a good way. But he wasnt rude or anything and he asked if we had preferences or allergies which is cool. Iced tea was not good and warm and the AC was dripping water on one of my girlfriends friends. The only redeeming factor was the Chile con queso which wasnt incredible but was good. I feel bad giving one star but it really was a one star experience, its difficult to find anything good about a restaurant when the experience was so outweighed by the bad things. I understand being vegan means making sacrifices, but its no excuse to lower your standards of food quality. We ended up going to Sonic afterwards and getting some fizzy drinks, cheese sticks, and french toast sticks. A 100% better experience for a 1/7- 1/8 of the cost of v eats..... Seriously

Had quite an unfortunate experience here. We came here to try something new as vegan dining in DFW can be pretty limited. First, tonight they had a limited menu - appetizers, salads or paninis only. I was a bit put off already because Id come here expecting to order something else. One of us also couldnt eat solid food so they made him macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes, and brought me a wrong order which was quickly fixed... and the positive part of my review stops. The spiced black tea I had was over steeped and tasted burnt. I asked to replace with water. The hummus (northern beans one) was really wet- just watery. The potato fries were overly seasoned and cold. The portobello panini I ordered was soggy, the (supposedly fresh) greens were very wilted and it was extremely salty. The chicken and waffle panini that was ordered came with wet, soggy bread that fell apart during eating. The fruit side that came with our meal was mostly cheap melon filler with 2-3 thin slices of strawberry. Yucca fries were not seasoned AT ALL (surprisingly) and also came cold, giving them a mealy texture. Very disappointing fare that didnt come anywhere close to deserving its $$ price tag. We also were sat next to a smoker inside the restaurant which they apparently condoned.

Warning: Went to eat at V-Eats with friends. Ive worked in the food prep industry, and I know the general cleanliness procedures and standards. The individual who was delivering food from the kitchen was walking in from the patio, and she started telling staff about cutting her hand on a food item. I could see her from the food prep area, and she momentarily put a bandaid on the cut. When she arrived with my meal, the bandaid was on her hand. When she arrived to deliver food to my friends, she brought the food with an exposed wound that was still bleeding. This is absolutely unacceptable. I try to be very understanding at restaurants, but some of the dishes delivered were very close to the cut, and she seemed to think it wasnt a big deal (joking and laughing about it with other employees). Additionally, she continually wiped her nose with her hands, and then she brought food out to other customers. I called the restaurant to speak with a manager, and I was asked, rudely, why I was calling in the first place. The lead waiter that answered my call seemed annoyed and also seemed to think my complaint wasnt a big deal either. I wont be eating here anytime soon, and I hope that better procedures are put into place to ensure enhanced cleanliness/sanitation going forward.
