Not good. The place had a good crowd so its popular but anyone who has had food in southern (and I stress southern) Louisiana knows that its the best food on the planet, but it could not compare to florida or northeastern seafood either. The shrimp po-boy only had 4 shrimp total and the bread was soft and soggy. A good shrimp po-boy has has around 10 to 12 shrimp and the bread is crunchy. I ordered a gumbo and the flavors were all wrong. There was absolutely no Filet or so little I could not taste it, the flavors were completely wrong and it was way too light in color to have started with a proper roux DEFINITELY NOT AUTHENTIC GUMBO! I ordered boiled crawfish and immediately when I opened it a sickly sweet smell hit me so that was my first indication. Crawfish should not be sweet. It had a sweet flavor. Not good. The crawfish were small and mushy so either they had been overcooked or frozen and reheated. The chowder was full of grit. The one good thing was that the food came out fast and it was hot, but that wont make up for the quality.

Fried Fish and Shrimp in Downtown Plano. A little place from the outside, but inside had plenty of space with an indoor and outdoor covered seating with fans. Excellent staff, a great selection of draft beers and large menu. They have boils for around 20 dollars which includes potatoes and corn, they have their specialty Fried Catfish which was excellent. Surprisingly, they were not greasy at all. I dont eat a lot of catfish, but my wife and mother-in-law from Arkansas love it, so it must be good. You can also get crab legs as well. They also have side crackers at the table and though they are packaged, they were the good kind of crackers for your oysters. They have meals and combos. I will warn you the 3 piece catfish with a side is large. Will definitely fill you up for around 11 to 13 dollars. I got the combo catfish and shrimp with fries. They were they soft steak fries. Not crispy, but still enjoyable.

Came here with my husband and parents last night (Friday) and boy was it crowded! We lucked out and 4 seats opened up at the tiny (5 seat) bar just as I had meandered out of line in search of a paper menu. Luckily we got the seats and they took our order from the bar - score! The line was just about out the door at that point. We ordered fried calamari, fried oysters, boiled shrimp, and fish tacos. The calamari was huge and tasty. Fish tacos were good but lacked a sprinkling of something green or colorful (please no cilantro! yes, Im one of those people unfortunately). The food was good, but not the best ever (a 3.5 on my scale). Im giving them four stars for their service and friendly attitudes (really want to give them 5). We will definitely be back to try some more of the menu (seafood salad looked good) when its not eleventy-billion degrees outside and well grab a seat on the patio.

Went here before and would have rated 5 stars and then went the other day and would have rated 1 star, so 3 stars for the average. The good time the food was brought out pretty quick and tasted great (I had one of the fried combo baskets). The last time I ordered a grilled tuna and they messed up the order (brought wrong entree) and instead of giving me the food minus the fish they took it all away and took about 15 more min to bring me anything back. When they did bring it back the vegetables were not seasoned at all (as opposed to my original plates vegetables which were taken away) and the fish itself had very little seasoning or flavor. It was really busy, so I understand there can be issues, but there was no apology or anything done at all to compensate for the delay. Im usually pretty forgiving for a bad experience, but I really didnt like that they didnt seem to care at all.

2016.02訪問 まだ明るい夕方にテラスで家族連れがシーフードを食べているのを見て、食べたくなり寄りました。夕飯前なので生牡蠣で白ワインを頂きました。牡蠣はどこのものか書いて無く大きさがまちまちで品質的には普通です。ワインは美味しいものも用意されています。 我々が食べていると注文するところには周りの人はザリガニ、フィッシュアンドチップスなども食べており地元の人には人気の店です。

I suppose if you go there expecting to be seated, youre at the wrong place. The counter service was as efficient as you would expect. The staff was friendly enough. As for the food, its hard fried, if that is your preference. The down side is this, you only get hush puppies if you order a 2 piece catfish order, or so I was told. Id already ordered a 2 piece and 2, 3 pc orders and got no hush puppies. Why, because it wasnt a 2 piece? When I brought this to their attention, I was brought 2 hush puppies, and had to purchase more for the other orders. This I didnt like. Their prices are reasonable for what youre getting, but I still felt cheated.....

When coming to thr fish shack dont be fooled by the name. When ordering a classic fish and chips basket I was unpleasantly surprised by a lack of authenticity. Instead of getting a wonderfully breaded cod fillet with chips fried in the same oil you get a clearly frozen fish stick with some french fries. The breading on the fish came completely off the moment you attempt to cut it. A classic sign of breaded and frozen.. The fries ended up being run of the mill lacking that "chips" flavor you come to expect. Thr search still continues for that great fish and chips place in the area.

The line is always a mile long, and there is very little parking. Also, after standing in line forever to order, you run the risk of not getting a table, which means at that point, you have to take your food to go. Speaking of the food, its average at best and NOT worth the long wait. The crab cakes are horrible. The rest of the stuff is like fried baskets and po boys.....whoopty doo. Half of the tables are just painted benches which are very uncomfortable. To top it off, the staff is just not that friendly. In short, there are much better seafood restaurants in DFW for the same price.

I had a bowl of gumbo and it was meh... I also had a bite of my friends grill salmon and veggies. The veggies were WWAAAYYYY over cooked. Fish was okay but flavorless. Kind of disappointed because Ive always wanted to try this place. You order at the counter and give them your name. Then you take a seat and wait for them to bring out your food. They somehow just find you. It was a full house for dinner and I was wondering how they were going to find me but they did. Bowl of gumbo was $5. Prices are reasonable. Maybe their fried baskets are better? I might give them another try.

This place goes above and beyond. I am extremely picky about seafood and the Fish Shack has become my number one place of all time. It reminds me of the seafood restaurants at the beach. The food is so fresh and hot as well as good portions. There is nothing on the menu I do not like. Its all good, even the hot wings! The shrimp cocktail is a meal in itself. Of course I need to point out the service. The staff is so friendly and quick. My husband and I visit here at least once a week but more if we can. If you love seafood you will absolutely love this place!!
