First time visit, Ive had good luck with Chalkboard specials in the past, but here... Well... We ordered the recommended fried pickles, which were a little over fried for our taste, and very salty. Then we tried a soup, the Lobster and crab bisque sounded like it would be lovely. Again extremely salty. Then we had our mains, I had the scallop and shrimp carbonara, made with wheat pasta, I couldn;t taste any of the bacon, almost like the dish was under salted. Overall very bland. My wife had the scallops which were perfectly cooked and seasoned, delectable. But the sides were a over seasoned lemon asparagus, I note lemon because it was more lemon flavor than asparagus, and scalloped potatoes that were... really just gummy and tasted rank. I like to try new restaurants for date nights, but if they all turn out like this (and we ended up spending 60$ +) it makes me not want to try new things. I will note the bread pudding was wonderful but its almost sacrilege to serve hot bread pudding without a scoop of ice cream. Had that scoop been there it might have made up for some of the other rather mediocre food. I expected more from a voters pick of Best of D magazine. After eating we looked at each other and actually managed to guess what the other was thinking... The chef lacks a little confidence. Ive practically eliminated adding salt into my meals because I have a history of over salting, but Ive found most places will salt enough to my taste, very rarely have a found so many dishes over salted. We may try it again for some of their non chalkboard specials, but it was an expensive trial.

To the restaurant: Celery doesnt work in your slaw. Fish tacos should have option to have fried or not, the fried fish is on the bland side. Your portions on the fish taco are too much, perhaps a reduction in size and price should be considered. Overall pricing borders on overpriced, especially considering quality. On that note, the etoufee seems as if it came from a can, and the fried crawfish dont work, different cooking times for different size pieces leads to overcooking and undercooking, again these are bland with the flavor fried out. The batter lacks seasoning, enough to make any noticeable difference. To the customer: for their food expect to spend at least $10 for any entree. It costs $9 for their oyster nachos which is 5-6 fried oysters on top of a lightly sauced chip drowned in pico. Perhaps is my choices this last visit, but they seem to have a mild obsession with frying seafood. Not the best choice for flavor, its a sign of a lazy chef especially if the batter is bland. Food for thought.

This used to be our go-to place on Thursday pms but new management has ruined this place. Smaller portions and the degredation of the quality of food takes this place of our list. Management is unwilling to be flexible with with their offerings, the wait staff was constantly apologizing for the service failures (and there were many) that management caused. Anytime a customer hears "no, we cant do that" three times...youre out. Management has ruined this place...now it is overpriced and the service fails spectacularly.

Im a regular customer at this location. The staff is always accommodating and helpful. I like the clam chowder and house salad. I usually order those and the fish tacos and oyster nachos. I recently ordered the honey chipotle shrimp tacos. The light battered shrimp were dipped in this gooey delicious coating of honey chipotle sauce, sweet with a spicy finish. I will definitely continue to come here. I highly recommend you the blackened anything and all other items on the menu.

I have eaten here easily a dozen times. My wife has had several dishes, I tend to get the same thing i.e. crab bisque, crab cake and fish tacos. Not only never have we been disappointed, we are routinely pleased with the service and quality of the food. The crab bisque is the best I have ever had and I gey bisque wherever it is served. The crab cakes are stuffed with crab. Fish tacos are awesome. Food is fantastic and the value is even better.

I love this place!! Great people, great food, great service... Fish City isnt the normal type of sea food place... It doesnt matter what you order, grilled, blackened, or fried, you always leave feeling clean and light. Its really a big plus if you plan on walking around and enjoying Firewheel mall after eating. Fish City is my TOP fish place in the Garland area and my top restaurant in Firewheel mall. - Satisfied customer

Recently went right after work for happy hour and an early dinner. Unfortunately, there is not enough space between the bar and seating area, so it can get very loud making conversation difficult. The food was excellent as always. The wait staff was good, but a little overwhelmed and inattentive compared to previous visits.

Good flavor in my meal, but it cost $16 for 4 blackened shrimp, a small blackened catfish filet, and a tiny bowl of red beans and rice! The food didnt even cover a quarter of my plate...I wish I would have taken a picture. Service was not good. No refills on our drinks...they were literally empty. Well stick to Razzoos!

Saw the sign for "Beef - Fish - Fowl" when I pulled off the highway for my hotel. Very happy I pulled in for dinner. The Texas Redfish was prepared perfectly. Staff is friendly and on their game as is the management. Great place for business dinner, romance night, or alone.

Great food! Our first visit to this Fish City Grill location. Definitely going back! The specials were not shared by staff and the chalkboard was not visible from our booth. Wish staff had explained them to us as done in other locations I have visited.

This is a regular place for my wife and I. We usually go about once a month or maybe a little less. Excellent seafood and the price (for seafood) is very reasonable (anywhere from $10.00 to $20.00 depending on the fish). We highly recommend them.

Food was excellent. The fried oysters were the best Ive had. However, the blue point oysters on half shells could be better. Service was ok; I didnt mind it too much. By the way, the snow crab portion was humongous! The 30-min wait was worth it.

I was disappointed in both food and service. I dont want to be to hard on them, just one service is not enough to say bad service is the norm. I ordered fish tacos and the server me fish burritos. Was just not impressed.

Silver Fox is delightful. The service is excellent and the food is outstanding. I had the Lobster Bisque, which is creamy and just the right amount of Lobster. The entrée was bone in Porterhouse that was tender and juicy.

ALWAYS friendly staff. Fast service. Great menu options that changes with the fresh fish available, so diversity. Love the frozen margarita and their fried JALEPENOs. Lots of good tasty food choices.

Seated immediately, drink order immediately. Waited 30 minutes and no one came to take our order. Attempted to get the attention of 3 different servers. Still no response. Walked out.
