I ate here with friends last night. Had only heard of the place once, and didnt pay attention at the time. So when I went there with friends, I didnt not like the wait, and was saying that no place is worth having to wait 2 hours every time and that eventually they will lose customers because people will decide to go somewhere else if they dont start expanding or something....HOWEVER, after we sat down, which was close to closing, our waiter came and told us the kitchen was about to close and he needed to get our order in before they close the kitchen....ok, so we rushed getting our order in. Mind you I had never eat here before, but because it was close to closing I hurried and order the "she-bang" with just snow crab legs, potatoes and a side of rice. All the while Im thinking this stuff better be good. The food comes and BOY!!! My taste buds came to life and was like WOW! OMG! That food was AWESOME! I dont know who owns The Boiling Crab, but they are sitting on top of a gold mine. The service, I thought was very good. Our waiter tied our bibs on us, and even though he rushed us, I didnt mind, as he was making sure we could get served. I dont know his name, but I like him. He came back to ask us how everything was and he kept refilling our drinks. So, while in the beginning I was saying no place is worth waiting 2 hours to eat. I change my mind, the Boiling Crab is worth the wait. Especially if you have company in town and want to show them a good time. Take them to the Boiling Crab. I sure will.

Whoa. How have I lived in Dallas for over 4 years and not been to this place? Wife and I were craving crawfish, did a poll of friends and everyone recommended Boiling Crab. We knew the line would be crazy on a Saturday afternoon, so we prepared for it. They open at noon, and we actually got there at 11:30 with just a short line out the door. Luckily, we made the first wave of customers in and were seated right when they opened. I will say though once everyone was seated, they were giving most people a 1.5 to 2 hour wait estimate... so Id say get there 11:30 ish or just wait until 3-4pm. We got 4 pounds of their specialty shebang seasoning, 1 pound of original cajun, 1 pound of shrimp in the shabang, and added corn, potatoes, sausage. I like to try a little of everything when I go to new places... and Im a lard. Service was very good and quick. The crawfish were awesome, varying in sizes but overall decent size. The shrimp was really good, but Id pick crawfish over shrimp. Love how they serve everything in bags. At $7/pound its about average price in Dallas. Im used to Houston, so Im spoiled... If youre taking stars off for the wait in line, thats just stupid. This is one of those places where the wait is kind of part of the experience ha. That being said, I dont think Id ever wait 2+ hours :)

I have been a customer here for about 6 or 7 years. All of my previous experiences have been awesome until two nights ago. I didnt know American Express wasnt accepted here. I immediately asked our waiter where the closest ATM was. I thought luckily it was in the same parking lot at the convenience store. It took me about 5 minutes to come back only to find our table had been cleaned off. We had about $50 dollars worth of food still on the table. So of course I had to mention this to whomever cleaned the table off, (not our waiter). The "manager" who is whom we had to speak with. After stating what happened he questioned me "are you sure because I didnt see anything like that on the table!" At this very moment is where I lost a lot of love for themisI then had to wait for him to frantically find my receipt in the computer after confirmation and wait for them to cook it. 20 mins. Now when i got the food I honestly believe they shorted me. And thats what I didnt appreciate the most! Considering me being a loyal customer and bringing them business over the years

Im from Florida, we are known for seafood, Ive been cooking seafood for 33 years, I moved to Dallas a year ago and Ive cooked my own blue and snow crabs, so I heard about this place last week and thought I would try them out, so today I ordered blue, snow and dungeness crabs what a disappointment, the crabs are boiled in unseasoned water and then put in a bag and shaken with whatever seasoning you chose, the problem is snow and king crabs can only be steamed or you change the texture of the meat, the blue and dungeness crabs arent seasoned on the inside because they were boiled in unseasoned water, the outside has a flavor but you dont eat the shell and the crabs were undercooked and some were dead before they cooked them so the meat was mushy because thats what happens when your crabs are dead before they hit the water, if I opened up right beside them, they would be out of business.

I am thoroughly disappointed. I was born and raised in the south, Florida to be exact. The seafood was frozen and unseasoned. The seafood is boiled in water and put in a bag of "seasoning". You are given salt, pepper, and lime. Even with all this, the seafood is bland. Additionally, I was given shrimp that werent devained and with the head on. I spent $55 on one pound of shrimp, crawfish, and snow crab. I will never ever come back here again. Terrible experience. Second visit, same result. If you were born and raised in Cali, this bland stuff might be you. Its not for me. Maybe bring your own lemon pepper, old bay, garlic, etc. Red lobster has better seafood.

Me & my husband are now ex-Boiling Crab lovers! We went there today expecting the wonderful flavor filled food, and we were sadly disappointed! Everything taste so different from the norm. We asked if there was a new chef and we were told that cooperate made them now change the way they cook as of last week & now everything has to be specifically measured versus the old way of just adding ingredients un-measured until you get that great taste! We never spend any less than $100 eveytime we go & they had to cancel our orders this time because we would couldnt eat it. We wont be going back..unless they change it back!!!

You have to get here an hour before they open to get a seat bc it gets packed. If that doesnt tell you how good it is you are a moron. If you dont get here early be ready to wait bc it is seafood you have to Crack and peel yourself sp yes it takes about an hour to get through your meal so of you are waiting and are upset it takes to long you are a moron. Staff is great. No cons here. An intelligent person would understand and make better plans next time. A moron wpuld complain bc they didnt plan and blame everyone else. Wish they would expand but until then Ill plan to get here early for an amazing meal.

OMG! Best seafood in Dallas! Im from Louisiana and I have to say the food here is at close as it gets. Our server didnt come around much but you wont care at all once you start eating and u can flag down anyone walking by. The whole shebang is a MUST! No forks, no plates, and a bib=awesome! Only thing is it might take you two hours to get seated but once you do youll know why. We had the crab, shrimp, and crawfish. The crawfish were a bit small but thats to be expected since the season hasnt picked up yet. Shrimp and crablegs were huge and top quality
