I went there with a party of four adults we spent 68 bucks there once we decided to dine in we noticed on our receipt for P/L. They charged us .50cents for every set of plastic wear this is not listed on their menu board nor is it told once we were rung up. They also suggest we save money on a 3.99 gallon of tea but they do not mention the cups will cost .50cents each making almost better to just buy drink with refills cheaper. They have pretty backwards cost if they make us pay to dine in i wonder what happens if we took the food home would i not be charged plastic wear? Never again will i go there i go understand being charged for a ice cup if i am only getting ice but plate and fork charge i hope they get a smarter manager or learn to disclose there prices.

This place is my absolute favorite place to go ever for barbecue. I always get either the stuffed fries or the stuffed potato (meaning baked potato with everything on it including butter, sour cream, shredded cheese, bacon bits, chives; and a meat. I always get the brisket. My stomachs growling just thinking about it.) and the meat is always cooked PERFECTLY. The staff is always really friendly, too, and while Im not the type to expect special treatment or for people to remember me just because I go once or twice a month, the people there do recognize me occasionally and know just how much I love their food. Its just a tad on the pricey side, but not much more than your average fast food large combo, and it is SO worth every single penny.

Lived in Mesquite almost 30 years and I never knew this place existed. Its been here longer than I have. Immediately knew this place was good when I walked in. Small interior and the typical line that builds up at dinner time can be an oversight to how good the BBQ is here. Full selection of meats: brisket sliced & chopped, pork ribs and pulled, ham, turkey, baked potatoes, excellent fries and much more prepared right in front of you. Portions are plentiful and the price is right. Visit this place at least once if youre in Mesquite because you will not find a better selection of properly prepared BBQ here or in nearby suburbs.

My husband and I ate at BBQ Tavern in Mesquite for lunch. The parking lot was practically empty and we thought perhaps it was because the restaurant was fairly new. Honestly, the food was terrible. The fish basket was SUPER GREASY. So GREASY, you could not taste the fish. The Turkey plate was terrible as well. Turkey was super dry, almost crunchy on the outer edges of the meat. The potatoes had no flavor and the broccoli and rice casserole also was super bland. I would not recommend this place for an outing to enjoy a family meal. No wonder the parking lot was empty.

I love this place. I have placed an order on the phone it was made a tad late but I was running late so it was okay they just finished as I walked in the door placed order at 1030 and had it at around 1125 said Ill pick up at 1115. I order every Tuesday for my kids lunch and take it to them. They love it. I love what they called stuffed potatoe I called it a loaded potatoe...but any ways food is great. I need to try other foods but I will at a later date but now Im.happy with my potatoe and my kids love the lil fellers.

This is the best BBQ I have ever eaten. The beef is tender and juicy, the sausage is spiced perfectly, the ribs come off the bone, but dont fall off the bone, and the sauce is really good. The sides are great and my family loves the pickles, onions, and pepperchinis at the end of the counter. The decor is classic Texas with mounted animal trophy heads and advertisements for businesses and locals school teams. The service is unbelievably good. If you like BBQ go to Mesquite BBQ and you will love it.

100% would absolutely go again and I plan on doing so multiple times before I leave for home. I know brisket is the pizza or tacos of BBQ and its hard to mess up (according to some people), but this was absolutely phenomenal. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy, the sauce was out of this world, and the sides were just as good. So I guess what Im saying is this place is just amazing. Prices are pretty standard as well.

My husband brought food home from this place and I really enjoyed the ribs and sausage and Im usually not a sausage person! We live literally down the street and I cant believe I didnt try it sooner... even when I would crave BBQ which is often I never tried this before and place and would drive pretty far to get my fix. Not anymore!! Will be trying this place again when I want good BBQ!! I hope the sides are just as good

The beef bbq was fantastic. The service was great. There aint no words. The only downside was the food was a bit pricey, but if food is good, i dont mind paying for it. Im from NC (the pork bbq capital of USA), but I admit when it comes to beef, Texas is the king. Sorry yall, but Kansas, Memphis, and St. Louis bbq is all hype. If you want real beef bbq, come to Mesquite bbq. If you want pork, its North Carolina.

SUCKS! My mother and I went here and were soo disappointed. It was EXPENSIVE! the food was bland and tiny tiny sandwiches! For anyone who thinks this is good bbq, make the drive to Juniors bbq in Red Oak tx on Ovilla road, you will never want to go anywhere else! Mesquite bbq lost our business. Definitely not worth it. (The drink used to come with the meal. Now its separate charge and the meal went up $2.00.)

As a former customer, I can say that their food wasnt anything that blew me away. It wasnt anything that I couldnt find anywhere else. While the food was decent, the attitude was poor. The people there were very rude to me, especially after my meal. Maybe they should be more concerned about their food instead of parking and where you can and cant park. Decor was average.

Valentien never disappoints. The menu is creative and delicious and I have never had a bad meal there. I have had the chicken, the steak, the vegetable ribbon "pasta", lots of salads and desserts. The field greens salad has a wonderfully light dressing. I enjoy the heirloom tomato salad with burratta, and I love the incorporation of lemon basil.

All the meats are hickory smoked to perfection: no spices, rubs, or marinade needed, but they do have their own bbq sauce. Southern style homemade sides and desserts, fresh tea, free pickles, and good family atmosphere. I love all the small town history that has been preserved by the Crouch family at MBBQ. Best Barbecue in Texas!
