The food was mostly alright: the top sirloin steak was a little tough and only alright on seasoning. The mashed potatoes with cream gravy were pretty good, the baked potato was great. The green beans had bacon and onions in them, so they were pretty darn good - like a good country style. The sweet tea is fantastic! The staff were super friendly when we walked up to order (while we were trying to decide what we wanted), then basically completely ignored us except to bring out our food (and they forgot the green beans, which I had to go back and ask for). Overall, its a nice little diner, novel rail car idea, but it is nothing to die for.

First and last visit here. I ordered a shrimp po-boy here, and Im well aware its not a seafood place, and the sandwich alone was 10 dollars and did not come with fries. The po-boy was on a small hogie bun and it was popcorn shrimp. When the food came out they forgot my fries and then gave another person in my group cheese sticks instead of my fries and told me they didnt charge for the cheese sticks. Avoid this place. Its too expensive for something that is not worth it.

July 2011 Fantastic experience... great food, clean/ bright/ airy atmosphere, friendly service and excellent value. If youre on a diet, stay away. Apparently it had gone downhill, shut down for a while, and changed owners within the past year? Its great now! The food came with the guarantee, "If its no good, well shoot the cook!" Well the cooks far from danger by my say! Full menu online as PDF. Also, theyre only open limited hours so check before you go. Mmmmm, good BBQ.

Loaded potato skins were potato logs with a mountain or sour cream and unmelted cheese. My ribs were tough, dry and 90% bone, two ribs had about one mouthful of meat. The beans were clearly straight from a can. My wife had a catfish poboy which consisted of one piece of fried fish, a bun, and some tartar sauce, no lettuce, tomato or pickles. It also came without a side of fries. Ended up leaving most of the food that I paid $30 for on the table, it was that bad.

I dont give 5 stars often, but the catfish here is that good. Sides of mac n cheese and potatoes were just okay, but the staff made it worthy of 5 stars. They were extremely friendly and attentive. Sirloin was cooked nicely, but its not my favorite cut of meat anyway. Ill definitely be back to have the catfish, and eventually try the CFS.

Ribeye steaks were great and tasty and the catfish was as well. Have eaten there on several occasions and was satisfied everytime . A fine restaurant it is not but rather just some good folks trying their best to serve good food and down home service so dont expect Papadeaux atmosphere and/or service and you might have a good experience too!

Very cool place, got a chance to sit on the train car and enjoy a lunch. I was told to order the "Everything but the Kitchen Sink" baked potato. OMG! that was one huge filled potato. It was delicious down to every bite. I have also had the catfish which was really good. Will continue going back and will post pics on my next visit.

On 11/2 they were short staffed and although I was the only person in there at that time they were really rude. When I mentioned the rudeness no apology was given only an excuse that everyone had called in. To add insult to injury the food was horrible and I couldnt even eat it...Please save your money and dont waste your time...

These negative reviews are either a bit dramatic or outdated. I was driving out there the other day, pulled over to type an email, looked up and found myself in front of my new favorite lunch spot. I liked it a lot. The lady did say they had switched management, but the food was great and ppl were friendly

Despite its friendly, though at times absent staff, I wouldnt come back. The food was a complete letdown. Dry, tasteless and a little pricey. Which is a bummer because the concept of this joint really is amusing. 2 stars if only because the lady behind the counter was super nice.

I visited this place within the week and it was the worst dining experience in my memory! The sliced barbeque sandwich was terrible, the bun was stale, the meat dry/chewy, and the sauce there are no words. I find the good reviews very hard to believe, and try it if you dare!

My grandson and I ate lunch here today. The food was excellent. The employees are so friendly. It was the best chicken fried steak ever. Yum I wanted him to get to experience eating on a train. We took the tour before we left and we took pictures too.

I went to this place specifically for Catfish. The fish was NOT catfish it was Swai fish. It should be against the law to advertise your selling a certain thing but are actually serving something else. Some people know food and what is and isnt.

Affordable prices. Decent food. Generous portions. Very friendly service! Unique and cozy atmosphere. We brought our 2 year old who loves trains and he was very excited to be able to sit and eat in a train car. Overall, very good dining experience!

We just had the best time ever at Railroad Crossing. Rosa was the "best hostess" ever and Neyr cooks with a "Southern touch". We were really "impressed" with our "first" visit!!!

Never would I eat here again. Delivery was fast! Food was awful. Every thing tasted like it was bought from Wal-Marts freezer aisle.
