We came in after the lunch rush and had the Thursday special. Half-rack of ribs and two sides. The ribs were cooked well but had a touch too much salt. (I LIKE salt by the way) if you drowned the ribs in the sauce, it seemed to even out the taste. But shouldnt the barbeque be good without the sauce? We also ordered the Chicken fried steak (CFS). The CFS was very tender, the breading didnt seperate from the beef, it was cooked well. The beef was seasoned well. However, the breading was very salty! Of course, if you drown out the CFS with the pioneer gravy, it seems to even out again. But, same question, do I have to drown out the entree to make it taste right? Overall I have to give it an average rating, but just a little adjustment to the seasoning will kick it up to very enjoyable.

My husband and I ate at Red River a couple of times and loved it. We went on a Saturday afternoon to give it another try. My husband ordered his meal with a baked potato. When the food came he had beans and potato salad. We told the waiter and he brought him a potato. Before we started eating, the waiter came with an empty plate and asked my husband to scrape the beans and potato salad onto that plate because he said "that was how people got extra food without paying for it.". We were shocked. He should have taken all the food back and brought the correct plate instead of making us feel like criminals. We have not been back and dont know if we will any time soon.

Meh. Everything was bland, and, for the price we paid for my redfish, I expected much more food. Yeah, I hear you: "get bbq at a bbq place," but no matter what one orders, one should not feel cheated. I didnt feel like Id eaten at all, and its not like I eat a ton. Not to mention I was wearing a corset, which further limits how much it takes to feel full. We had to go elsewhere afterwards - even for my two year old granddaughter, who was also still hungry. We love trying new places, but this was very disappointing.Two stars only because the service was good and the food was at least not disgusting.

Family & I decided to try this place cause weve been looking for a good BBQ place in our area. I definitely will be returning! Theyre food was so delicious. The price was perfect for the amount of food we got. The chicken strips were huge for being a kids meal. Came with 2 & each kid was only able to eat one. The potato salad was oh so good as were the ribs, brisket, and jalapeno cornbread. Their bbq sauce was perfect! Not too sweet or thick. Just the way I like it. I think Ive found my new fave bbq place. Cant wait to try the rest of their food.

When I ordered food I was overcharged because an inexperienced employee was helping me. When I brought it to the attention of the manager, they took my card and voided the transaction and charged me the correct amount. The following day, I realized they voided the second charge instead of the original charge like they were supposed to.... So I still overpaid! When I called them for a solution I was told that it shouldve been a higher amount, instead of escalating with proper questions. Ill never go there again.

Terrible service. One of the waitresses came over twice and told us "no sharing", even though the two of us got the all you can eat ribs. I asked who she thought I was sharing with, showing her the two red blocks that indicated we both had the same special. We will never ever come back. Should have demanded a refund, but did not want to make a scene. Just terrible. Overpriced food, doesnt even taste good. Disgusting creamed corn. The only thing warm was the sauce in the bottle.

Went there for lunch today and normally I get BBQ and sides (good stuff) but today I decided to get the catfish and shrimp combo. Very disappointed. I have never in my life had a catfish filet that was 1/4" thick before breading. Obviously a previously packaged and frozen product. I think the shrimp were the same way. I wont be ordering that again. Learned that lesson - dont order seafood at a BBQ joint. It would probably be best if it was just not on the menu.

I went here a while back and had a chopped beef sandwich, it was excellent! The service was even better! Large portions, lots of caring staff on hand, and most importantly great brisket. By far the best BBQ place in Katy hands down. And even if BBQ isn’t your thing, they have plenty of other menu items as well. Don’t even bother with the other place further down on Mason (went there yesterday and very disappointed); this is the place you want to go!

We go for the smoked turkey breast, the pork ribs, and the fries. We love it! Very tasty, with just the right texture. Suggestion: I would like to see a tangy bbq sauce option, as the sauce they offer is more of a honey bbq variety. I sometimes pick up a bottle of sauce from Brookstreet BBQ to have with my meats here when I do take out. Red River has the better meats, Brookstreet has the better sauce. Haha. What are you going to do?

It has been extremely difficult to find a GOOD BBQ place here in Texas. I was actually impressed with the value of the food and it is reasonably price. They even have Spicy BBQ sauce. Normally when you ask for "Hot BBQ Sauce" they just warm up their original BBQ sauce, but this place gives you exactly what you want! Good selection on the salad bar. Salad bar isnt huge but they offer a wide selection.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! Amazing food and great customer service. The fella named Keelan (cashier, fairly tall, combed over brown hair with a clean cut beard) not sure if I spelled that right. Hes absolutely awesome, he has always taken care of us if something came out wrong or wasnt quite right! Props and thanks to him for being absolutely fantastic no matter the situation!!

Food was good. We have 5 kids and there #1 family combo has enough to feed everyone. The staff is nice and they are very attentive. They give free push pops to kiddos and have a decent size sand play area for the kiddos enclosed on the patio. Love the country music but the tvs to watch sports while the kids play are deff a bonus. Food is good. Love the meats (brisket and sausage) and cream corn.

The service was amazing! One of the beater customer services I have had at a restaurant. The food was great, especially the macaroni salad. The thing that dropped it down to a 4 star for me is I ordered a medium rare steak and it was medium. Not a lot of pink. I mean the steak was still good, I just prefer mine to be less cooked and not overcooked, and mine was a little overcooked.

My family and I love this bbq. We live off of N. Fry but travel all the way to Mason to experience this great tasting BBQ. Our first time here, we were exposed to the Texas hush puppies which are stuffed with meat.. YUM! Whether we dine in or pick-up, the food is always fresh. They also have all you can eat ribs on Saturdays!
