The only reason Lotus doesnt get five stars is because I like to try a place a second time before saying it gets the highest rating. That said, Lotus was REALLY good! Its a casual place, which is perfect because you need a casual place to eat this food. Have you ever had food so good that you couldnt eat it and be "cute" at the same time? Thats Lotus...you need to be able to undo a couple of buttons, roll your sleeves up, and talk about how good your meal is with every bite, and trust me, you will here. Try the loud pack with extra crack sauce! That was my first meal here, and it will always keep me coming back. Even if I ultimately decide that this is the only meal I want from Lotus, its worth it. My daughters fried fish and shrimp were good, so Im hopeful about trying other items, but the loud pack is deeelicious!! Get to Lotus as soon as you can!

I absolutely love Lotus. Ive been going here for a few years now. I have told family and friends about it, now everyone is hooked. I have had both fried and boiled entrees, you really cant go wrong with any of their food. But, my favorite dishes are the boiled snow crab, the boiled shrimp, and their boiled crawfish when its in season. THE CRACK SAUCE IS A MUST! I also love their fried fish with the Louisiana rice and their shrimp poboys... they definitely give you a lot of shrimp on it. They are very reasonable in price and the quality of their food amazing... ALWAYS! & ALL of the employees there are so sweet and helpful. I would recommend this anyone.

Decided to give it a second chance. ONCE AGAIN the order was completely messed up. Shrimp boil was still still all wrong. I ordered the peeled shrimp with corn sausage and potatoes in original flavor along with a pound of crawfish in original flavor. Did not get the corn,sausage and potatoes even though they charged me a extra almost 4 dollars for it. Both the shrimp and crawfish was not the original flavor but the remix flavor that was very spicy and my children could not even eat it. I recommend going to the Braswood location if you want your orders correct. They have ruined my order twice

The one on Braidwood and south gessner is great but the one on kirkwood is outa this world its a little better and more addictive I love lotus. TRUST ME GO TO KIRKWOOD BRANCH. Its even on a better side of town do your safe lol. But seriously lotus is awesome........IMPORTANT RECOMENDATION!!!!!!!!ORDER 30 MIN BEFORE YOU GET THERE SO YOU CAN JUST COLLECT AND GO. PLEASE ORDER AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU DONT WANT TO WAIT IN LINE IT WILL RUIN YOUR EXPERIENCE AND THIS IS A RESTAURANT THAT YOUR TASTE BUDS DESERVES TO ENJOY

Ive always heard great things about this place but I was very disappointed when I tried it for the first time. I got the crawfish poboy and it sure was a letdown. The crawfish was overcooked and there was way to many in the sandwich. I had to take most of them out so I could actually enjoy what I was eating. I will give the restaurant another chance but I will try something different.

Ok so this was me and my boyfriends 1st time here and all I have to say is overall the restaurant was clean and a bit small and very busy,the staff were very nice but what we didnt like was there was no fountain machine they gave us room temperature bottled drinks and there was very limited seating the food was hot but it made my boyfriend sick as a dog! Never again!

DO not eat at this lotus. If you have the time drive to the one on Braeswood. The Braeswood location is Heaven on Earth.This is my first time eating here at the Kirkwood Location. I had fried oysters and Shrimp. They were barely fried at all and the oysters may as well had been out the shell. The batter was salty and not fried hardly at all. HORRIBLE

As a first-timer, I decided to start with their shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. Please note, the small shrimp fried rice can feed 2 folk. I had leftovers. Heres the verdict: IM SOLD and HERE FOR IT ALL. I also sampled my friends fried fish and boiled shrimp. All I can say about that is "Yesssir". I guess you by now that Lotus is a win for me.

First time here I ordered 1/2 lb of unpeeled shrimp for $6.99 & 8pc Catfish nuggets/fries for $6.29 plus crack sauce $.50. SO TELL ME WHY IN THE HELL MY TOTAL CAME OUT TO BE $19.92???? THEY GAVE ME AN OPTION TO TIP AND I PUT NO. FRAUDS. WONT BE BACK HERE. AND TOO BAD BECAUSE YOUR FOOD IS GOOD. PEOPLE WATCH YOUR TOTAL AMOUNT WHEN YOU PAY.

Flavor is good but compared to the Breaswood location Breaswood is much better. They are $ cheaper and they give more seafood in the specialty dishes. My Louisiana fried rice from the Kirkwood location barely had anything other than rice in ot and my boiled shimp was not very juicy. Overall good but Breaswood Lotus is better.

Best fried shrimp Ive ever had! Best rice for the price and huge portions! The Crack Sauce-- OMG! I dream about it everyday! Fish is always hot and fresh and deeelish...even when I get it home it is too hot to eat! Great service! Only cons-- Small place, very busy and crowded but I call in my orders. So glad I found Lotus!

First time here n last I hate the fact that on the menu the shrimp section says served with fries so I bought 2 1lb shrimp trays and there was no fries so hubby went back to ask and they said that it excludes the 1lb tray WTF! SERIOUSLY? nowhere does it say it excludes it thats false advertising. Not coming back

Food is always great and fresh. I just need to know if they soaking the shrimps and fish in a butter bath before frying. Because they are on another level with this frying technique. Delicious I didnt even do my normal routine of hot sauce and tarter sauce on this seafood.

Its great for what it is. Price is high but the crab legs were awesome and the seafood fried rice is delicious! My only issue is the catfish isnt not gulf catfish its swai. Just call it what it is so I can lower my taste buds expectations

Great place love their food, however The employees usually turn off the phones constantly due to the high volume of callers and the restaurant being understaff, which makes it very difficult to preorder if you are on your lunch break.

The food is good albeit it can get a tad spicy if you add too much Crack Sauce. Add. Crack. Sauce. The Louisiana Fried rice is where its at. Or get the Loud Pack - its the LFR plus a few scrimps. SCRIMPS.

Dat loud pack with the crack sauce is so much better than you think itd be. My only issue was the fried rice was a little too stale and dry. The shrimps and crack sauce made up for it though.

I love this location better than Memorial Dr I rather wait for them knowing that its hot and fresh. You have to call back to back because they do get a high volume of calls but its worth it
