We decided to eat here with some friends of ours after visiting discovery green ( a great place to visit btw ). We craved some Chinese, and this place really was good. We arrived later in the evening, there was minimal staff. We were greeted at the entryway and seated promptly. The inside probably hasnt changed much since it was built, typical atmosphere except for the few wall mounted large mouth bass hanging in different locations. As for the food, we started with Won-ton. Both wife and I loved it. Not your typical Chinese buffet soup. The broth was more flavorful and full. Then we had cream chesse won-tons fried, also delicious. For dinner, the wife had the spicy chicken (aka general tzo) and I had the lemon chicken. Hers was deep fried mine pan fried. The spicy chicken pieces were not all bread and gristle like buffet food and the lemon chicken even though it was pan fried skinless it was still a little crispy yet tender. Both meals came with an egg roll which were ok, and I thought should have had pork inside. Compared to Jade Palace in Humble these were mediocre. As far as price, most plates averaged $10-$14. The service was a little below average just because one of our four plates was not correct. Overall, I would visit again. It was a good eat for sure.

Today wasnt that well.Went to order enrolls. Tried calling 3 times while driving up there coming from 45 and Wayside.. First and 2nd telephone just rang and rang.3rd time phone went to a busy signal. Got there went in looked pretty dark.Went to register. The senior waiter ask table for 3 as I had 2 of my grandchildren. I said order to go. He nodded in a yes fashion. There was no one at register. I picked up menu and saw enrolls 2.15. Then Hispanic bus person said that menu for lunch I said all I want is enrolls.he nodded ok and left.Still no one around register. Then the first waiter came back and handed a menu to granddaughter and said that menu for lunch only. Again I said all I want is eggrolls. He nodded and walked off..Still no one at register. I looked at grand kids and said lets go.Left menus on counter and walked.out. Must be nice to have ur own restaurant and wait on customers when you want.Pick and choose.Just saying. Ok to the owners. My family and I have been there on 3 different occasions for meals..It was ok.the eggrolls are great.Thats why I went to pick up some .You wont be seeing my 50 to 70.00 dollars .

I AM LIVID!!!!! My fiancé and I just walked out of this place and I think I am more angry than I have ever been at a restaurant! We have been here before and no problem...food was great and service was fine but this evening was a different story and it had nothing to do with the food! I say it had nothing to do with the food because we litterally didnt even get water to our table...we walked in sat down and were completely ignored! The next couple to walk in after us was seated and served water immediately (they were the table next to us)...the server gave them their water, I asked "sir can we order drinks? The waiter LOOKED DEAD AT ME AND SHOOK HIS HEAD NO AND WALKED AWAY AND LAUGHED!!! He actually laughed!!! We got up to leave and no one said a word with the owner Standing at the bar and the manager or at least head waitier right next to the table we sat at!!! This place is a joke and I have no clue what this guys problem was. We will never come back again!

I love your egg rolls, They are the best. Very authentic not like the frozen ones with a mushy taste. About 42 years ago as a teen, I worked at a Chinese Restaurant called "The Rice Bowl" it was located on Jenson Dr in Houston Texas. There I learn all about real authentic Chinese food .I remember their egg rolls were the most popular food ordered. Their was only one more place at the time called "Moon Palace" in Conroe Texas that had good authentic egg rolls too.But none of these are around any longer. Your egg rolls are just like I remember eating 42 years ago. This is a lost crusine. Yours are so delicious with a crispy light texture and the authentic Chinese vegetables and seasonings . I live in the North Country side 50 miles away, but It is worth driving all the way to downtown Houston just to eat the real Chinese egg rolls. The owners make you fill like family and always remember who you are if youve eaten their a time or two.

If you are in Downtown Houston and are early for your Houston Rockets or Houston Astros game, check out China Garden. When approaching the doors, you are greeted by two marble dragons, which gives that New York inspired, hole-in-the-wall feeling, giving you the subconscious feeling that you are in for a real treat. Their homemade egg rolls are to die for, and their steamed dumplings are so good, it might be hard to share with your dinner date! The people who own the place know many frequent customers, which gave me the satisfaction that I know my food money is going in the right place. I DEFINITELY will be coming here again!

American Chinese food, which should be respected as its own thing. Higher quality ingredients and attention put into the food! Such as chicken breast instead of leg meat for the orange peel chicken etc... I like chicken leg meat, but it can be chewy from the straight take=out spots, but I still like those places too. I like good america chinese food (like this place), I like good bad american chinese food (like other spots). SIRACHA on the table! Big portions! I think most things are like 8 - 9$ stir fry items -- we get the ginger beef -- are legit! House chow mein is very good!

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, we went as a party of 9 and they took good care of us. Since we had a big group we ordered the family style plates and we were not disappointed! They put everything in the middle of the table on a spinning plate type thing so if you want something thats on the other side of the table you can just spin it your way. The egg rolls were to die for and the rest was pretty good. They dont have General Tsos chicken so thats the only reason it lost points for me. The establishment isnt very aesthetically pleasing but the food is good.

Simply my favorite restaurant in Houston, and thats saying something. Absolutely the best egg rolls I have ever eaten. The Hunan beef and lemon chicken are stellar, as well. I have been going here for years, especially before a game or concert at Toyota Center. The staff always treats you like family and added to the great food and location, make this my absolute favorite restaurant. I hope you try it next time youre in downtown, just be sure to check their hours, Im pretty sure there are some days they dont open until 4p.m.
