If were talking about food alone, four stars. I havent ventured out too much, but Ive had most of the dimsum dishes and theyve all been generous portion sizes (they should be for the price). The Siu Mai and Har Gow (dim sum musts) are both tasty. The Szechuan Dumplings were not exactly what I was expecting. When it says with peanut sauce, I thought it would be on the side, instead theyre in a bowl, kind of immersed in the sauce. The soup dumplings here were sooo good! An order came out and the owner didnt think they looked puffy enough (not enough soup) and gave us a new order without us even asking (really good service!). The Beef Flat Noodle was pretty good, not as oily as some places in Chinatown, but more expensive. The Black Pepper Sauce in Sizzling Plate with beef was pretty unimpressive. The beef was a bit chewy. No good. Lastly, the Scallioin Pancake. I love this stuff, I grew up with my grandmother making this and its one of my favorite things to eat. The ones at E-Tao are actually pretty good, but they are SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE. So besides that, it would be a winner. Overall very good. More expensive than Chinatown, but the real estate costs more. It also might be a bit more delicious.

I hate having to leave 2 star review but I was extremely disappointed. I enjoy Regal Seafood, their other location and havent been to the Galleria in a very long time so when we went shopping last week, we decided to grab a bite at E-Tao. The Asian gentleman next to us ordered Shrimp Fried Rice and it smelled amazing. They have an extensive pricey menu but we were excited to try their dishes. We told the waiter for starters we ordered the Shumai then we ordered Pork Fried Rice, Flat Rice Noodles with Beef, Crispy Eggplant and Lobster with Ginger and onions. We received the entrees before the Shumai. The rice tasted like it was quickly tossed and leftover as well as the Flat Rice noodles with dried beef. It tasted like it had sitting for days and quickly tossed. The eggplant was drenched in a sauce and what little crispiness was washed away in sauce. The lobster was delicious, the little that we had. My guess is it was 1 1/4 lb. barely enough for one person let alone 2. In my opinion is was Chinese Fast Food Leftovers.

The food here was pretty good but that was all forgotten about by the rudeness of the staff. Just one lady in particular who works there who refused to take our order claiming that it wasnt her table and kept telling us someone would come. This went on for 15-20 mins. Until someone came and said he thought she had taken our order. Even though she was serving our friends sitting at the adjoining table. Then after the bill came, she told me friends they had paid the wrong amount as they didnt include a tip for her. She then demanded a tip and started yelling at us. Ridiculous service. If you go here, steer clear of the female Chinese waitress.

My children (17 and 16) ate here last week. After finished they went into a clothing shop a few doors down and they were chased inside the shop by the waitress at E-Tao. She harassed my children by claiming her boss said they have to give more tips! She took $8 more from my kids. E-TAO : Kids do not have a lot of money, therefore, they can not give big tips! There is no law which requires BIG tips. Big tips automatically comes with great service .DO NOT CHASE after PEOPLE, especially CHILDREN. SELECTIVE EATERS: AVOID THIS PLACE! Not worth your time and your money! UNPROFESSIONAL. GREEDY. RUDE.

I dont think the ambiance here is very palatable considering its inside of the Galleria--and not exactly warm and inviting. However their sticky rice is just so outstanding and everything tasted freshly handmade. I wasnt too much of a fan of the green onion pancake, the texture was a bit gritty although the flavor was solid. I wished the menu had some more expansive dim sum things, like fried tarot. Overall this is a good stop if you prefer avoiding the heavy Galleria crowd by getting here early, eating a brunch, and then starting your shopping.

This is the second time we went to Etao. The Dim Sum menu is outstanding. I had the sui mai, har gow, scallion cake, shanghai soup dumplings, and their flat rice noodles with beef. I have visited Shanghai last years and they are known for the soup dumplings. The soup dumplings at E-Tao is easily the best in Houston. You couldnt even find a place in Chinatown that would come remotely close to this. this is definitely such a great place to eat at. I will definitely be coming here again.

I had been planning on taking a trip here for soup dumplings for about a month. Finally on sunday i had the chance to go and the ambience was really quiet not many people in there. I was expecting to have amazing dumplings and they were terrible. The dough on the notch was raw and super chewy, they were not thin and you could see the grains of ingredients in the skin from not being mixed properly. Overall they were disgusting and will never go here again for the price point there is bettet.

We just had the worst eggplant I have ever had in my life. There is no flavor inside the eggplant and the sauce is terribly sour and strong. We also ordered pineapple chicken with cashew. However it is served with peanuts without any cashew! Warning: Whoever is allergy to peanuts, please be aware of this dish!!! I have been to this restaurant and Seafood Regal Lounge (same chain restaurant) many times, but today I am extremely disappointed and have to rate 1 star in this review.

This is definitely a very hole in the wall place and can be very cramped as it is just one row of tables front to back... but the food is worth it. The plates are a bit pricy but you get a large portion. I had the garlic chicken and veggies. The sauce was light and flavorful, everything was served piping hot, very tasty, and the rice was delicious. Ill have to make an excuse to go back again some time, but Id advise against rush hour visits!

Surprisingly good Chinese food especially for a small town and a picky E-Tao Asian Eatery food connoisseur (me). I worked at this place when it was a grill and hated it. I like it much better as a E-Tao Asian Eatery place ;-) Also, once me and my best friend went there and when I asked about egg flower soup and said how much I love it? The waiter brought out a huge bowl of it and didnt charge us. It was very nice of him.

The food might be more expensive than restaurants in Bellaire but Id take the chinese food here over anything Ill ever get in Bellaire. The dim sum here is top notch, and actually better than some of the stuff Ive had in china. The xiao long bao and the green onion pancakes are my favorite things to get! This place is definitely a gem (and in a mall nonetheless!)

Wow, this restaurant is near Nordstrom, 2nd floor in the Galleria mall. The service was friendly and attentive and Id give them 5 stars. I liked how the kitchen is open and you can see them working. The Dim Sum, especially the Shanghai Soup Dumplings: 5 of 5. No question about it. I had try it in many places, Hong Kong, New York, L.A. this is the best.
