Today I finally got to make it down to Champ Burger, a place Ive been meaning to get to for a long time. Im more than happy to admit that I was foolish to have waited so long. Since the wife and I had an appointment in the area, I took advantage of stopping by. I was immediately greeted by the smiling staff, and owner Chris. They whipped me up a HUGE triple bacon cheese burger, with all the fixins. As soon as I unwrapped it, my eyes started to tear up. It was a masterpiece! The meat patties were steaming hot and piled with generous layers of cheese between each one. The bacon was fresh, crispy and spilling out of the bun in abundance. Vegetables and the rest of toppings were fresh and not overwhelming. The minute I sunk my teeth into it, I knew it was one of the best burgers Id ever tasted. Quite possibly the best! Simple and accommodating outdoor seating even let me enjoy it all in the cooler weather. No loud music streaming in the background or shouting customers and wait staff. Just a relaxing atmosphere, great company (my wife, of course), and outstanding food. I sincerely thank you for a job well done Champ Burger.

I grew up in a house next to a place where it use to be a backery right across from Champ Burger. Mike has always been a great man with his business n burgers n fries as I remember when I was a kid was so delicious. Oooh yea their shakes was the best. I moved out of town for a long time n now Im back home. So hopefully pretty soon Ill be paying Mike to thank him for taking care of me n my family as we were kids after school n hope to meet his son Mike Jr. To once again taste that awesome home taste. :)

This is probably the best burger east of downtown Houston. This is one of the few times where a meal is good, fast, and cheap. Maybe not good for you but definitely good to you. If you want a pick me up breakfast stay away from chain stores and head over here to Champ Burger. The breakfast sandwich is top notch. If there was a reason for me to be anywhere on the eastside this is probably where Im having lunch.

Been coming here for 20+ years. Burgers are great, breakfast tacos are amazing, and the fish sandwich is the best in town. If you are really hungry, try the bacon swiss burger and add mushrooms. You will thank me later. Take your food to go or sit outside on the patio and enjoy the sights and sounds of EaDo. This family owned business is one I will continue to support for years to come.

This was my first time here and Oh My God! This is one of the best tasting Burgers I have ever tasted! I was referred here by another business (Milby Barber Shop) on Canal St. Nearby. I met Chris at the Counter and he was very welcoming and friendly and informed me of all they have. A must come visit place to enjoy some good savory tasting honestly burgers and fries with A soda water!

One of the most underrated burgers in Houston. Classic burger stand in every sense - only open on the weekdays, closes in the afternoon, burger, fries, shakes. Id recommend the cheeseburger and the chicken fried steak sandwich - both are winners. The owner is super duper nice and the service is always stellar. Go on a sunny afternoon and sit on the patio with a chocolate shake!

Greasy spoon burgers. The best!! Wow this was one of my favorite places to eat at when I was in school at UH. It is very much worth driving over there. "We dont take the plastic" as I was told when i forked over my credit card when I first ate there. It is located a few blocks from the UH main campus. They are not open on weekends and offer open air seating only.

Been coming here since I was just a kid. And I will say this is BY FAR THE BEST BURGER JOINT IN ALL OF SECOND WARD/EAST END. NOTHING COMPARES. Cant ever go wrong with their classic burgers.! I always make sure to upsize to a larger drink tho. Bc the ones they give you were always too small for me. Lol but besides that. I love this place. Great local outdoor spot!!

This burger joint is amazing! Seriously best burgers in houston. Fries are off the hook and chocolate milkshake if your feeling like something cold and sweet will definitely hit the spot. Its been open for years and the owner is always at the window polite as ever ready to serve you. Very gourmet tasting while being light on the pocket book.

I love their grilled ham & cheese with tomatoes! Of course you cant have that without a large order of onion rings and a large lemonade. Best onion rings in town. Ive been going here since 2010 every chance i get. Great staff, always greeted with a smile and leave with a thank you. A must do if youre in the area! Breakfast is served as well.

Its the best classic American burger in Houston. The fries are just how I like them, crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The outdoor seating is nice in the warmer months. I go every time Im in Houston for more than a plane swap. This place gets busy so I would call ahead to place your order and avoid waiting in the heat.

I periodically eat here, may dad would take my siblings and I here when he worked for Maxwell House. The burgers are always great, the onion rings are great, the breakfast menu is great, even the shakes are worth trying. Will continue to periodically stop and eat here when Im in the area. Would recommend, its worth a visit.

I work down the street from here, and have been for 3 years. I tried Champ for the first time, and now I eat there at least 3 or 4 times a week for either breakfast our lunch. Everything I have tried is delicious, fresh and cooked promptly. They have great friendly service and I would recommend this place to anyone.

I worked at Commerce and Chenevert from 1981 till about 1990, about 100 feet from Irmas. was a weekly visitor to Champ Burger. magnificent food. Mike and his crew made the best breakfast sandwich of all time. cheeseburger basket was phenomenal. you can see why they are still there! if you havent eaten there, go!

Every time I call up to order I am spoken to with respect and great regard. The owner also is always at work with his staff. The most important part, the food is fantastic, cooked amazingly and tastes great. Great variety on the menu, also not overwhelmed by choices. Only good stuff on the menu.

This lil place is right down the street from my house. I finally tried it today...I had the mushroom and swiss burger....absolutely terrific! I wanted to try their onion rings but they were out...sad face. Service was fast and friendly...great lil burger joint. I will definately recomend!!!
