This restaurant serves primarly West African dishes, so since Im of West African descent I decided to give it a try. I usually eat at Queensway which is okay but the not great. But I wish I had stck to Queensway because this place is the Worst!!!!!!!!!!! A sibling of mine told me about a prior incident of seeing a ROACH in their bathroom, but I still gave them the benefit of the doubt since the location was convenient. First the wait (even after you pre-order) is ridiculous!! I ordered appertizers and i had to wait for 26 mins (YEs I timed it !!), which took almost my entire lunch break!! They are ridiculousy expensive !!! 2 meat pies, two sticks of suya and a small goat pepper soup cost me over $30 !! WTH ?!! Then what really screwed me over is I just realized that they ADD THEIR OWN TIP PEOPLE !! Typical Naija fraud ! My receipt was $30 and when I checked my bank account the next day they added $3..I intentionally cross out the tip line of receipt anytime I PICK UP FOOD (NOT DELIVERY). So why in the world would they tip themselves, that is theft ! I told my brother abot this and guess what? SAME THING !!! HE WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $4 WITHOUT CONSENT!! PEOPLE PLEASE CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT AFTER YOU USE YOUR CREDIT CARD HERE !! I WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IMMEDIATELY !!

I strongly recommend this restaurant to any one who enjoys diversified food. This is the real authentic African food with a Nigerian base, and great customer relationship. They have all the items advertised in their menu, that was first for my experience with African restaurant. We visited over three times, and each time they were ontime. I was here from December 24 til January 3, 2013. They even assisted us in calling Cab to get us around the town. You realy have to go and see your self. The food taste great just like the way moms make at home. I can not forget to mention how clean and free of smell unlike most African restaurant. The owner is very serious with his business. Dont forget to try the Ishi ehu if you have $25.. Egusi with pounded yam was my choice.

This is a very good restaurant. Well known for excellent reputation in African community. I am very sorry to have taken a part in fake negative reviews. The picture that I downloaded of a dirty stove was never taken from De Ranch. No one other than De Ranch employees are allowed in their kitchen, So I could not have taken the picture from De Ranch kitchen. I was being vindictive and hatered against. De Ranch. You should also look out for more vindictive reviews from John using the owners name paschal to make it look like he is offering bad service. Think about it! How could an owner write against his hard earn business. He goes by Walter Caneles, John/johny Caneles and he is not from this community

I called at around 1000 and was able to place an order for that same evening. I was assured the food could be ready and it was. I deeply appreciate them helping me out at the last minute but I cannot overlook the disappointment of my guests. The food didnt have any flavor, the Jerk Chicken was not made with real Jerk seasoning, the Oxtail was tough and the Curry Goat was chewy. Also, a catering service includes delivering the food expecially for what I was charged. I was definitely overcharged for what I got. Real Caribbeans know real Caribbean cooking. I regret that the food I received was a real disappointment to my Caribbean guests.

The food is great. Service is awsome. This is with out a doubt the best African restaurant that i have ever seen In United state. This restaurant is the only one that carries all items on their menu. I was very disapointed to read fake reviews by none African reviewers trying to demise the reputattion of our best African restaurant. My first question to this paid scam reviewer is what do you know about African food or De Ranch. De Ranch has been serving our community for over ten years and you must be a true African food lover to appreciate the great work they are doing. I say you should always go and see for your self.

I love De Ranch Restaurant, and I have been a patron for over 14 years- I was offended when I read Krystals biased review of De Ranch Restaurant. I dont believe she is a descendant of NIgeria. De Ranch caters to well informed, and health conscious clientels. The five items she bought would have cost her a total of $24. I promise you De Ranch is the most clean , and best African Restaurant in DMV area. The haters would even testfy to this fact-The truth is that De Ranch is not for everybody. Please come to De Ranch for your fine dining and quality food experience

The food tasted like trash. the customer service was really bad and the envirement was really bad in the restaurant. first they did not have any toilet paper in the bathroom the owner was fighting with his employees in front of the customers. And then he is a pig he thinks he can flirt his way around things. and the prices dont match up with the prices he has on his menu and food that is on the menu they dont even have. Thats why I am going to talk to the better business bureau and health department this place is really sick

I am a Nigerian that grew up eating Nigeria food. I just want you to know that De Ranch serves the real authentic food. I am in a position to educate those that are casual eaters of African food. The food cost a little more because it is natural grown and imported. This is not your regular burgers or fried chicken.. I have been eating here for over 10 years and get confused when I read reviews from casual esters comparing cost without true knowledge. The food is well worth the cost and service is great.

This is a restaurant that have succeeded in bringing a replica of my moms cooking into the United States. The bitter leaf soup is very mouth watering and delicious when eaten with pounded yam and fish. The courteous services from the waitress complimented the VIP services I received during my visit in January. The interior is very neat and nicely arranged with great intricate of class. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves high quality meals home away from home.

My friends and I just finished eating here. Yes Yes and yes. The food is all that. We ate Egusi with pounder yam Jolof rice with mixed meat. My other friend who is watching her weight just took pepper soup. This restaurant is very clean and the toilet are clean also. This is a complete contrast to all those fake negative reviews on yelp..Please go and see for yourself. Dont be mislead by those fake negative reviews. We shall be back and always support our folks

I have been eating at DeRanch since I was in high school and I can ensure you that the quality of their food is superb. I have ate there long enough to know this restaurant prides themselves on cooking traditional, gourmet food from West Africa and the taste is excellent! I have had the best costumer service experience with whom I believe to be the manger who made me feel at home and genuinely cares about the quality of his food. #9ija
