I have eaten at this Masala Wok in the past and have had no complaints. I ate there with a friend of mine yesterday, July 24th, 2015 and not even 10 minutes after consuming their "Paneer Butter Masala" I knew the food was not going to sit well with my stomach. I have had this exact dish in the past and have been perfectly okay, but after this particular meal, I came down with your typical food poising symptoms; uncomfortable stomach, nausea, feelings of high body temperature...oh and also severe vomiting and diarrhea. Luckily the vomiting didnt occur until I had literally just arrived at my friends apartment complex parking lot, so at least I was fortunate enough to make it to a place where I wouldnt be throwing up curry in my truck. The parking lot, on the other hand, had a nice, thick pile of $12 dollar Paneer Butter Masala that Im sure even the hungriest of dogs wouldnt consider eating. The feelings continued through the night with my head nicely rested on the front end of my toilet seat. After the vomiting subsided, it was no longer my head on the toilet seat, but instead my other end. The hot and steamy diarrhea show began which, fortunately for me, continued to play not only late into the night, but also encored into the next day. As I sit and type this, Ive consumed a single piece of bread, 2 gatorades, and 2 bottles of water, and am finally having feelings of recovery. Still not feeling Pre-Paneer Butter Masala condition, but I am recovering. I understand, food poisoning happens and like mentioned above, Ive had this same dish before with no complaints, but when it does occur, something needs to be noted because food should absolutely NOT do this to a person...especially at $12 dollars a plate...my suggestion to the restaurant is to ensure that ALL of your employees are following safe food handling procedures, make sure that your food is fresh, ensure that your food is cooked to its proper temperature and make sure that everything is CLEAN. I will not be returning to this establishment. On a positive note, their Nann is quite delicious when its fresh.

[Update - Weve been here 3x and loved it all 3 times! Fantastic fast casual place to get a great lunch!] My wife and I visited Masala Wok for lunch today and were delighted by the delicious food and environment. The restaurant was very busy at lunch time and was filled with an overwhelmingly Indian and Asian crowd -- which was lovely! A modern Indian / Asian restaurant whose lunch crowd supports the notion that the food is authentic :) I ordered Korma Masala with Lamb. The dish uses cashews to create an amazing curry with asparagus among other vegetables. Paired with some nan and basmati rice - it was absolutely heavenly. My wife ordered Chicken Manchuria with fried rice. The fried rice was amazing -- fresh and herbacious! The dish was a little bit salty on first taste - but after eating a complete bite, we realized that the sauce contained the salt, not the chicken. It was fantastic. We also enjoyed a 1/2 order of samosas that were beautiful and complex. Each bite was amazing. Ive read other reviews concerning undercooked meat / overcooked meat and all sorts of bizarre things that did not describe our experience at all. We had a perfect experience and while Im not Indian -- there were at least 2 dozen patrons that were who all seemed cheerful and enthusiastic about the restaurant. Hopefully some additional non-anonymous viewers will care to add reviews. Take the Anonymous ones with a grain of salt.

I am giving this restaurant one star because there is no option of zero stars. Horrible customer service .Their staff have no clue as what they are doing there, everyone were with their mobile phones. We ordered food online at around 8:50 pm and got a text that it will be ready in 30 minutes.we went to pick our food around 9:33 and the guy who was on the front dest taking to go orders was clueless about my order. He check on the system and said" Fried Rice" i said i ordered 5 items ,he went to the kitchen and came back saying they received only fried rice. when i showed him my order on phone he just stared at me .He said he will get it ready in 10 minutes and get it to my car. after 20 minutes i went in and there was this lady who was taking orders, when i told her about my order she said that they got mixed up with names and gave my order to some other person with the same name. WOW person with the same name ordered same food ,ONLINE???? she said they stopped all other orders and making my order,i said thats not my problem. She looked at me as if she wanted to throw me out of the restaurant. Please never go to this restaurant. If the management is reading this review, please change your staff orelse you will be out of business soon.

This place used to be okay, but when the management and menu changed, it really went downhill. From my experience today: - Food and service were great, but... - everything has a sticky coating, including the tables. - silverware appeared to be dirty - no real napkins - no paper towels in the restroom - all of the soda was flat, so I tried the tea, but it was the powdered, pre-sweetened kind. - its about 80 degrees in here and super humid - they were blasting Latin music from The kitchen, which is fine, but they were also playing Indian music in the main restaurant. The combo was very annoying. Overall, I get the impression that the owner is cheap and trying to get away with cutting as many corners as possible at the expense of guest experience, or has very low standards. Wont be back soon.

I have been going to Masala Wok for the past 8 years (the one is Los Collinas and Richardson). Today was my first experience and Plano and lets just say it will be my last. The service was horrible, the manager was rude, obnoxious and arrogant. The entire time we ate there the manager and employee proceeded to point and talk about us and just made our experience horrible. We didnt enjoy anything. I asked for the name of the employee and herself and her response was, "We dont release personal information" because I wanted to complain to corporate. They are a sorry excuse for management and a sorry excuse for a restaurant. Save yourself the time, effort and money and GO Somehwere else!!! Trust me :-)

I went to this place after 2 years and a lot of things have changed. I used to like this place but not anymore. Yesterday my wife and me had 4 things 1) Hot & Sour soup. 2) Veggie spring rolls. 3) Schezwaun fried rice 4) Gobi manchurian. The hot and sour soup was very very bland, I had to add lot of other things which were available around me(like red spice, sour ketchup, salt) to make it little tasty The veggie spring rolls were cold and its not that i went late. I went at 7:30 PM. The fried rice was ok, but considering it was expensive its not worth it. Gobi manchurian was totally over fried. Every onion in it was black and had the burnt taste. Also the manchurian was not crispy.

The staff is so rude and food is so cold. We ordered a dish thinking it is gravy and once we found that it is dry item. We requested them to cancel and the staff said the dish is ready and they cannot cancel. And the dish they got to the table is cold. I had couple of times in other places and I dont have any complain. But this location staff is so rude. We came on a occasion to the restaurant and it was totally disappointed. We ordered another gravy dish thinking it would be good. But the one got has salty and not so good. When we requested Naan for side they say it comes only with rice and Apart from steamed or brown rice it is extra money. Will never come to this location.
