Very good pho. I ordered to take out and rather liked the fact that the ingredients were separated for me to "build" my meal when I arrived home. This allowed me to skip the cilantro (which I really dont like) and add as much or as little of the bean sprouts and other veggie components to my taste. The soup was absolutely delicious - not overly salty or conversely watery, but rather just right and flavorful. The egg rolls (Vietnamese style rolls) were crispy and tasty but a little different from what Im used to at Vietnamese and Thai restaurants back in Toronto. These rolls were a little on the small size and not textured as Im used to. Not sure if its different here or at home. My guess is the former, but I could stand to be proven wrong. Comments on the decor are accurate. You dont go to Pho 18 for the ambiance! Even the name is a little strange to me. Particularly since theres a Pho 20 not too far away as well. What gives with the numbered names I wonder??? Nevertheless, the beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious and I plan on returning to try other menu items.

It has a nice atmosphere. Its clean and it feels like a Vietnamese home. There is also calming background music. The people are very friendly. The service is fast and the best quality Ive had at a Pho restaurant. They provided the choice of forks and chopsticks without the customer having to ask, along with a small plate for the dipping sauces for the pho. The price is just right too. I really recommend this place!

Know that the food is INCREDIBLE, the best pho Ive ever had, in fact. But know that you shouldnt expect good service. The guy who owns the place is a grumpy old Vietnamese dude whos so stereotypical in his grumpiness that its almost funny. So go for the food but have your expectations as low as humanly possible for the service. With the addition of a good sense of humor, youll leave with a smile and a full belly.

AWESOME PHO!!!... I travel a lot with my husband for work.. and Ive visited many differ states as well as restaurants. And by far, PHO 18 is one of my favorite places. The people are very quiet until you warm up to them or vice versa...the food is very fresh and the restaurant has a little homey feeling! And I will continue to visit this place every time Im here in Galveston, TX.

Highly recommended. Fresh ingredients and richly flavored broths, grilled meats, and perfect spring rolls. I have never been disappointed by anything from here. Usually I order takeout and pick it up, and the broth, noodles, and Vietnamese basil are all packed neatly and separately so they stay fresh and can be combined perfectly at home. The owner is kind and cheerful.

The owners here are very friendly. They love to come up and talk to you whenever you come in for lunch. Restaurant is small size but is extremely clean. Food came out quickly and I love my com bi suon cha. The egg cake was fresh unlike some other places that Ive eaten at. Highly recommend if youre in a hurry for lunch but want some really tasty Vietnamese food.

A small place with little charm but the food and service were good, not great. The prices are very reasonable and would have made this place a great value. Unfortunately, I sat next to the window and the blinds (that were within inches of my face) were very dirty from spattered food. Thats a deal breaker for me. There are better options on the island.

Make no mistake, this is a dumpy little hole in the wall place. The food is always great, the owner cooks and serves the food, and take out is always packaged to get it home just fine. If youre expecting a nice restaurant, dont go here. If youre expecting good food, go here!!!

Favorite pho place in the area. Food is good, consistent and a good value with more than adequate portions. The owner is on premise and takes great pride in his food. The mom and pop atmosphere is endearing, but you dont come here for the ambiance.

Excellent food and service! The owner was so embarrassed because his staff didnt show up and he was waiter and cook and you know what? We still had a GREAT service and AMAZING food. Prices are very reasonable, will visit again when in island.

Fairly clean spot, the older man was kind but on the phone during the whole time he took our order. Vermicelli bowl is a bit pricey then what Im used to $8 but it was a really big bowl and delicious

Excellent pho, and inexpensive! Try the egg rolls or an iced coffee. The owner himself serves you your food, and will proudly tell you how good it is and the awards it has won.

I bought combo fried rice, rice was dry, not enough oil used to cook. Quantity is not enough for a single person. Any other Asian restaurants are better than this.
