BRIDES, ENGAGED COUPLES and families: Do not book special events here! My fiancé and I had our engagement party this past Saturday. It was originally planned outside. Due to the severe weather forecast, we had to consider indoor locations on the morning of the event. We called multiple restaurants to see if they had space to accommodate our party of 35. Obviously, most places did not have the space. I received a referral for TruFire Kitchen & Bar in Frisco, so I called and spoke with the staff. I provided specific and clear information. I told them wed be purchasing heavy appetizers and drinks for our guests. I asked if they were able to accommodate us. They said YES, they would provide us with a private room and overflow space. I asked for a price quote; they told me there was no minimum since we were bringing so many people. They confirmed everything for the time I requested (down to having an extra table set up for my decorations). After informing 35 guests of the location and time change, the restaurant manager called me 2 HOURS before the event TO CANCEL. He told me that we could no longer host our engagement party there since we werent buying complete meals for all of our guests. What a great example of bad management and poor customer service. If you confirm a special event for a customer, you honor what you promised and make it happen. Due to this establishments incompetence, my entire family and I were scrambling to plan an engagement party in less than 2 hours and notify all of our guests again. They completely wasted my time. ALL THEY HAD TO SAY WAS NO. Im very thankful that this was not my rehearsal dinner. There is no response that can justify how this situation was poorly handled.

My husband and I were attending a marriage retreat nearby. I went online to find some gluten-free friendly restaurants and happened upon TruFire. Reservations were recommended. My husband called and they were able to get us a reservation for 6:15. Right from the start we knew we made a great decision. Our server Chris (the guy with the beard as he called himself!) was super friendly and knowledgeable of all of the food on the menu. We could tell that he truly loved his job! I always expect eye-rolls when asking for a GF menu, but Chris was happy to share their extensive GF menu with us and make recommendations. We chose the hummus plate as an appetizer, per Chriss recommendation. It was delicious!! The veggies were fresh and crisp and the GF pita bread was delicious! We then shared one of their specialty salads (Pom chicken and Arugula) and it too was delicious and a generous portion for us to share. We shared a dessert, which was the flour-less chocolate cake. Chris told us that they would be comping us the dessert since it was our first visit and they were happy that we chose them. Wow! We were totally blown away by their generosity!! And the cake was moist and delicious!! One of the best Ive ever had. They were busy with people coming and going the entire time we were there. I definitely recommend a reservation. We will be back for sure! There are so many GF options on the menu that I cant wait to try!! Thank you again TruFire and Chris for your excellent food and service!

Last night we visited Trufire for the second year to celebrate my sisters birthday. After waiting for 45 minutes for a table for seven our table was given to another party. We had two kids that were hungry and we were the only group that had been waiting for a table. When I asked the hostess what happened, she could not explain what she had done. I immediately asked for the manager (who had come by 15 minutes before and apologized for the wait) who was in the kitchen. After waiting for him for 5 minutes, I went back to the kitchen and explained to him what had just happened. All he said was that he was sorry but could not explain why we had not been seated and did not attempt to rectify the situation. We left and went across the parking lot to eat at another restaurant. Even though we waited together as a family inside the restaurant and felt a chill every time the entrance door opened, we could have spent that 45 minutes eating at another restaurant but we chose Trufire. We will never go to Trufire again and for a restaurant that is not a chain, every customer should matter.

We had heard great things about this restaurant, so we made reservations and drove 30 miles to try it out. We were seated in the doorway going to the patio, so that every time someone went in or out, they had to squeeze around me, and it was so windy, we may as well have been sitting outside ourselves. Because our reservations were fairly late, we ordered an appetizer right away after being seated. It arrived after the main course, so we sent it back. The food was mediocre at best. We both ate about 1/3 of the serving. My wife had asked for some bread. It arrived as they were boxing up the remainder of the meal (which will probably be thrown out tomorrow). The manager came to the table to apologize for the "mix ups" and covered the cost of the meal. Personally, while I appreciate the gesture, I would much rather pay for a good experience than get a bad one for free. We were both very disappointed and will never go back.

We loved the drinks and dessert!!! We got there in time for happy hour and were very pleased to see that there was a special on all cocktails. The crab dip was a little bit too salty but the pita bread was amazing. I loved my artichokes. I took a star off because the lighting is incredibly dark in the main dining room and the noise level was much higher than we had anticipated. The patio looks so inviting and will be lovely to revisit in the fall. The section between the very large bar and patio is nice for a little more of a family friendly setting. Overall, I would say that the atmosphere is geared more towards date night and social get-togethers. The staff was incredibly friendly and management made sure to stop by our table and welcome us as first-time guests.

Fabulous, My newest Favorite spot! Everything we ate was DELICIOUS! We didnt have a reservation but they seated us after 15 minutes. While waiting at the bar enjoying a crisp glass of chardonnay we looked over the menu and chatted with the bar tender, who by the way was so knowledgeable of the wines and entire menu. We then were seated and Ryan was our waiter who was super friendly and recommended most of our appetizers as well as our dinner choices. We were seated outside and it was cool and very inviting. Our son ate the Trumac that was also AMAZING. We are new to Frisco, TX and this hands down has to be our favorite restaurant yet. We will become regulars at this truly fabulous restaurant.

Jeff made our night beyond wonderful! We came to TruFire after a super long weekend and we needed a break from responsibilities (dishes and such). Our schnauzer has separation anxiety and we were thrilled the patio here is dog friendly. Unfortunately, our sweet puppy was not excited too and very yappy. :( It could have been very stressful but instead Jeff handled it like a pro! He talked to us about our pets and brought our pup out some water. He brought my daughter pennies to make wishes with and throw into the fountain. And he gave us the most amazing service and food and made ya feel right at home! We will definitely be back. Thank you, Jeff!
