12/31/07 was my third NYs Eve at Cru and sadly, I wont be going back! Ill start with the good first. The service was impeccable, very attentive (could it be we were there for a 5:45 seating and we had only 1:45 to eat, drink and be merry - which we were fine with). The food itself was excellent. What my concern and regret is that we (there were three couples) didnt get up and leave as soon as the starter arrived. When I made reservations we were told there were four courses, a starter, appetizer, entree and dessert. The starter was a crab cake and black-eyed pea corn chowder. The crab cake arrived and was about the size of a half dollar sized ball. It was accompanied by a soup spoon like those used to sip Jananese soup at a Japanese restaurant. We thought this was a dip for the crab "cake". Come to find out, this "spoon" was the black-eyed pea corn chowder. I had no black-eyed pea(s) in my soup "spoon".. For my appetizer I selected the scallop. Once again, it was very tasty but it too was the size of a half-dollar round ball...it did have some spinach with it. My main entree was seabass. Ive had this the two previous NY Eve visits and the portion had decreased dramatically. Accompanied with mashed potatoes...white fish, white potatoes, white plate. The dessert was the largest item, a nice mousse which I shared with my boyfriend since he was still hungry. Needless to say all others had excellent tasting food but the portions were VERY small for the price. We left hungrier than when we arrived and, thank goodness, had a party to go to where we could graze. We left a hefty tip because of the service and our group had a good time, but we always do. Wont be going next year!

Food and wine were great. Waiter likes to push "this is my favorite" a little too much. We are wine savvy and know our likes and dislikes with respect to food and wine. Encourage waiters to ask questions not just assume people are clueless. But the worst part of the evening was the noise level. It was Wednesday evening, about five tables filled, an over 40 crowd all having dinner at about 7:30. The music selection had screeching guitar that was simply incongruous with the otherwise lovely atmosphere. We love loud, pulsating music to dance and workout to but at dinner, not so much. It ruined the evening and will probably be the deciding factor that we will not return for pleasure or business dinners. Hint: perhaps some nice jazz music in the background during dinner time

My husband treated me to a cooking-vacation.We ate our Thanksgiving dinner at Cru at the Shops in Legacy. My husband chose the turkey and I chose the Branzino with a flight of Sauvignon Blanc selections. Kudos to the chef who is an absolute genius. The Branzino was perfectly cooked and the sauce superbly balanced to enhance the fish. Accompanied by fingerling roasted potatoes and roasted brussell sprouts, the meal was divine. I cant rave about it enough. An excellent value and fabulous Thanksgiving experience. Bravo!!!

We had dinner nearby and dropped in for dessert. Service was so slow and we were clearly forgotten about as we had to flag down other waiters (who were immediately annoyed) just to get one to bring us water and take our dessert order. I was looking forward to their chocolate lava cake but there was nothing lava about it. Stale, old, dry, no lava center and the raspberry sauce topping was clearly going bad and starting to ferment. :(

I LOVE Cru, I recently helped host a bridal shower in their private back room. Everything was perfect, Janay the Sales Manager was so helpful with making sure everything was perfect for the shower. The food & wine were both great, everyone kept commenting how Cru was such a great place. I would highly recommend Cru, its a great place for date night, girls night our or host a shower/party. I will certainly be a returning customer.

I just recently ate here this past weekend with my best-friend. Im from San Antonio and visited for the weekend. Hands down its the best filet Mignon Ive had. Not to mention the wonderful "sweet" flights we ordered. The place is clean, along with beautiful decor. Our waiter was nice and accommodating. I will be returning to this place to have dinner again next time Im in Dallas!

I love the atmosphere of Cru & the fact that it is so close to my home. Prices are reasonable. The one complaint I have is that I really dont need a high school girl telling my wife & I about wine & trying to up sale me on it. I know my wines & I think maybe they need to educate the wait staff a little more on their wines.

Our server was excellent, and the wine selection is just delicious. They have wine flights for $12 to $15 which is a taste of three 2oz wines, which is awesome if you wanna try some different wines. I loved the place and totally recommend it!
