It was about 8 oclock at night when I arrived at the establishment I was meant to be a very young Hostess/ waitress by the name Taylor I believe ,she was very professional & I think that she had a few tatts on her arm. After a little confusion on exactly where I was being seated she proceeded to hand me a menu. I proceeded to the car got my glasses came back in had some more chitchat about the name of the establishment and talk to the staff. They are very knowledgeable it seems to me cooking Italian food, but not to use a French term for an Italian rerestaurant the piece of resistance was the young lady that waited on me Taylor she was far above excellent & it is my belief for such a young individual she has her head screwed on extremely straight and one day if she so desires will manage the place through her sheer customer service skills and abilities!!! Even if the restaurant food had been subpar Taylor was all the difference in the world ,however this was not the case the food was excellent she was quick to help me decide what I wanted and they have great food Pleasant atmosphere the only thing I might recommend being a true Italian connoisseur as they might get some fresh spinach and maybe make calzones and or a white pizza the only thing they dont do is ship the water in from New York to make the dough I will be visiting this establishment many times and requesting Taylor to be my wait person!!!!! THANKS for the good job rare to find such a good GEM Dan Brock

We were going to go to a different restaurant but I saw this place out of the corner of my eye as we were passing it. Were visiting from out of town so decided to give it a shot. We are sooooo glad we did. Our beautiful lovely waitress was amazing. It felt more like we were visiting an old friend than dining at a restaurant. She was really helpful in telling us what the place was all about and seemed to genuinely love her job. The chicken meatballs had a wonderful texture(if youve ever had a chicken meatball you know this is important/hard to achieve). So juicy and flavorful. She said it was ground fresh in house. They know how to grind!!!! It came with bread. I meant to ask what it was. Im thinking it was a sourdough foccacia(i cant spell) or something? Packed with flavor and sprinkled with fresh roasted rosemary. The pepperoni pizza was just...beyond words. Perfect even crust. Perfectly cooked. Just all around a good pizza decision. We got the trio of dipping sauces with it. Only served to enhance the flavor train experience and make us sad we dont live in Dallas. If you dont live in Dallas you should try this place. You will be impressed. Especially if youre a beer enthusiast. If you do live in Dallas Im jealous. Lucky so and so.

I really like this place and they have great lunch specials as well, even on Saturdays! The drinks are good, not strong but still tasty. The decor is really nice as well. This place has really caught on so now it can get a bit crowded. Best time to check it out to me is early on a Saturday afternoon. If you go during the week, which Ive done before, there was a wait....and they have long bar tables in the middle so you might be sitting next to someone thats not apart of your party. Its kind of free for all if you dont already have a reservation. I specifically like the table closest to the kitchen because of the cute rounded seating. As far as the pizza goes, its really good and very flavorful. The crust isnt too thin, kind of fluffy like a pillow. Only thing I wish is just a little bit more sauce. Also I wish they had better parking. But it is in the Design District so parking isnt just really ample for none of the buildings over there. You might end up parking at another building if the parking out front is already taken. But hey, at least you dont have to spend money on valet which is always a good thing!

Had dinner at Pie Tap with the family last night and our high expectations were exceeded. The build out of the restaurant feels Austin-ish with its beautifully rustic design. It has an energetic vibe and the staff was attentive and helpful. Taylor was our server and I would ask for her again. We started with the spiedini, which was delicious but a little salty for me. (My husband and mom loved it.) We then shared the Caesar salad, mushroom pizza, and pappardelle bolognese. They were all so fantastic that Im not sure I would want to try anything new next time. The crust of the pizza is heavenly. The kids loved the margherita pizza and the fresh chunk of Parmesan grated over the pizza/entrees was perfection. I also had the Ripsaw cocktail and love, love, loved it. So glad to have this new place nearby!

Sometimes i feel like the only sane person in the room. Everyone else raves about this place, but i was not very impressed Overall this is a very nice restaurant with a great set up and enthusiastic, helpful staff. However, the pizza is very meh. My problem is its not thin enough to be so small. Its halfway between italian style and new york style, and it did not satisfy me at all, kind of a dough fest. It tastes good, but you only get like 2 bites of the great part per slice till youre just eating dough, and its not soft enough to just be eating dough for 2/3 of the meal Also the wine was overprice for on tap wine, and the beer selection left much to be desired, and overall i felt it was very pricey for what we got

We went Saturday evening 7 pm reservation. Place was full and we waited about 15-20 minutes or so for our table. VERY LOUD music blaring from speakers and reverberating through the concrete interior. Three of us and we hadnt shout across the small table to hear each other. Waiter was good--never deserted us for too long despite the crowd. Beers, ales, ciders on tap afforded many choices. I had a Velvet Hammer. I might go back if the pizza was any good. Subjective I suppose, but we three agreed wed have done much better with take out from I Fratelli. No olive oil and no tomatoes on the Margharita pizza. Crust not soggy but not especially tasty. We peeked in next door at Town Hearth to see the decor

If I could give half stars I would rate Pie Tap a 4.5. The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Goat Fondue appetizer, and a half Salami, half Prosciutto Pizza. The bread with the Fondue was hot, doughy, and delicious. Both of the pizza flavors were perfect and very different. My half star off would be for our drinks. My fiancé had the Blackberry Smash and was unaware it was frozen. It was so frozen he didnt get much of a drink as it wouldve taken a long time to melt. My margarita was described as a martini-style but was not very strong and I could not tell there was habanero or pepper in the recipe. Overall, we will be back, however we will stick with beers or wine. I highly suggest you try it!

Great place for higher end thin crust pizza and cocktails. The other Italian dishes do stand on their own for the most part, unlike many other pizza places. The prices are right for the neighborhood, a bit more than you would find in the surrounding neighborhoods, but still worth it. The pappardelle pasta was perfect if not for a lack of seasoning. Valet parking is required during the busy times unless you are willing to walk a few blocks. Overall, a must try spot in the Dallas Design District.
