Best birthday dinner ever outside of Japan. Best quality sashimi fish. Not only fresh but also best cut of tuna and choices of other fish. For me, this would be the only worth restaurant to eat sushi and sashimi in Dallas. Their fish is air-shipped from Japan 3-4times a week. Since the chef originally started as a soba chef in Tokyo, tempura was perfect quality. Thin crispy battered crust and inside of shrimp cooked perfectly and served hot! (In Japan, one of the skill soba chef is determined his quality is tempura.) And best of all, his "kamonannbann"(dipping hot soup noodle with duck) was so perfect. Worth every penny!

I work by Tei-An and love all types of asian noodles so was really excited to finally visit Tei-An. Not sure if it was an off day for the kitchen but for the price being paid the food was pretty blah. I ordered a bowl of Soba/broth with 3 additions comes out to about $25. first the noodles were overcooked. I mentioned this to the waiter and he was totally unhelpful. I guess they dont have a lot folks that know Asian foods b/c I explained to them that everyones noodles were overcooked, just mushy. The waiter explained to me that its supposed to be that tender. Im pretty sure they either overcooked it or let it sit before they served us. I asked the waiter to take it back to the kitchen so the chef could see. Brought it back and told me I was out of luck. Really, at an upscale fine restaurant, when a customer complains about their meal youre not going to do anything???? Was with a client so didnt want to make more of a stink than I already did. The atmosphere and decor was upscale but service and food was really poor or mediocre...will not be going back #reallywishdallasasianfoodscenewasbetter

First time tonight on a Wednesday 8:30. My Party of four got in with no reservations and were sat promptly. Our server was efficient and gracious at explaining every dish and sauce that was served. As we opted for the Omakase dinner we immediately began receiving course after course, each one building up and better than the last! I will say that now that we understand the cuisine Ill work with my guests to create our own tasting better suited to our palates. Thats not to say the Omakase was bad, but tuna, salmon, yellowtail and sea bass for the sashimi course were a bit basic. Id rather have toro, unagi, mackeral, or even giant clam or something else off the beaten path...The Soba were great if not a bit over powered by the curry...I cant wait to explore the various soba dishes and the rest of the brilliant menu. Finishing with the porkbelly with quail eggs were as rich as ANY foie dish Ive consumed. Definitely deserving of FIVE Stars! Thank you chef for your genius!

Best noodle house in the city! Staff is always very helpful and attentive. It seems every menu item is well thought out. As with everything you want to enjoy in dallas, its busy. If you want to eat there, I recommend a reservation. Doesnt mean you will always need one but, itll save some hassle and, potentially, a wasted trip. Worse than that... You may miss the opportunity to enjoy a meal at Tei-An. Everything is good but, if youre curious, ask the waitstaff; they are well informed, as should be the case at any good restaurant. On our first visit to Tei-An, we couldnt decide on dessert so... We ordered all of them. This was not a bad call. We were stuffed but, miserably happy. The gf favors "tea-ramisu"; I think mine is the black sesame mousse. Honestly, no matter what you get, youre going to want to come back the next day. Cant say enough good things about Tei-An.

It was pretty good, but very overpriced I felt. They are catering to the wealthy demographic of the area which explains why everything is crazy expensive. 15 dollars for a simple cocktail and one piece of sushi or sashimi s about 3 or 4 bucks a pop. Also I came here for the ramen which I heard is good. It was good, but somewhat bland, far from the best ramen Ive ever had and I felt it needed more items in the soup. As you can see from the picture it looks a bit empty. But maybe Im just used to eating ramen with lots of substance, this seemed very mild. On the plus side the wait staff is awesome, extremely nice and very professional and accommodating. Also the Tiramisu is absolutely divine. Oh and the toilets include bidets which in itself is pretty cool, haha.

Im very disappointed. The food was good, nothing extraordinary but the price is reasonable and it was good so thats fine. However the wait between each dish was extremely long. We got our first two appetizers fairly quickly, and then waited half an hour for our next one. After that, we waited 25 minutes for our main dish. Our waiter was nice and apologized, but the kitchen is clearly extremely poorly managed. Well give it another chance one day but overall Im very underwhelmed by the quality of this supposedly amazing restaurant. FYI if you go there, park in the $7 garage, the restaurant validates parking (or use the valet).

Think very minimalistic, very Japanese. Thats the best I could do to describe this great restaurant. The interiors remind me of a Japanese Garden except inside. They pay attention to all the details, from the coat check to the menus, very nice. We tried the soba dishes, me cold, and my wife soup. Both were very clean, fresh, and authentic. I cant say we tried the sushi and we couldnt tell from the California rolls that the adventurous people next to us ordered (should be illegal in such Japanese establishments). Maybe next time. A very good experience and well be back once it gets warmer to check out this roof patio.

Best sushi in Dallas! Especially the salmon! It was creamy and had the most exquisite flavor. The drinks were top notch. Service was quick and efficient. Our waiter, Val, made excellent recommendations including the Grilled Squid, which was meaty and flavorful without being chewy, and the Hot Rock Duck, which is a dish where the duck is served raw in thin slices that cook quickly on the hot rock. Amazing experience from start to finish. Its pricey but the ambiance, food, and service are well worth it.

Hands down, best service Ive ever had. My girlfriend and I stopped in on 7/6/16 for her 27th birthday. We didnt have a reservation and they were booked for the night but they were able to accommodate. Our server, Gavin, took time to explain their whole menu and gave us AMAZING recommendations. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Tei-An to anyone and everyone if ever in the uptown Dallas area! Ask for Gavin, he is the best server Ive ever had the pleasure to dine with.

Quality ingredients, impressive sake list, however the chefs execution was lacking and its a shame. Ordered and tried the Tonkotsu Ramen (noodles were too soft), Sashimi & Sushi was overpriced and wasnt super fresh as one would expect, the kakuni wasnt braised enough (long), pork skewers were like chewing a hockey puck, chili shrimp was overcooked, however, the tuna tartar was pretty good. The decor and service was very good but cannot overlook the lack of execution.
