Ive been here twice. The first time we were the only customers for a while as it was opening time. All was good. We were taught and guided through the meal. Second time was not good. We started out great. Service was good, just like before but, then they got busier... And we werent check on again for at least 20, possibly as much as 40 minutes. It was so long that I didnt get soup bc all the water in my hot pot had evaporated down into a goo... Literally. Then someone came over and asked if I was ready for soup... I commented on the goo, dropped some cash and walked out. My girl didnt get a chance to eat her egg(she loves eggs). About the place: the concept is solid. Its personal hotpot in a modern setting. Cook your own food. They provide a basic meal plan and you select the protein and the portion. The prime beef is legitimately prime and delicious. It is also the most expensive. My gfs portion of chicken was cheap, around $10, whereas mine was about double that. The default veggies are pretty good/normal hotpot additions and the provided sauces are varied and tasty. I love that area and Id have been back several times by now if it werent for the abyssmal service. We love Sweet Mix so, were , basically, next door pretty often.

The service was so good! I can not tell you how impressed I was with this whole experience. Its hard to explain, and really confusing at first but the staff here really made it easy. They prepared me for the next time I come in. There will be a next time! Okay so I talked up the staff but dont get me wrong the food was so delcious. I ordered the medium sized prime ribe eye. I am not going to lie when it first came out it seemed like there wasnt enough protein for the price. I went with it anyways. My wife ordered the salmon. The quality of our proteins were excellent. I mean EXCELLENT! After carefully listening to our waitress I understood it was the over-all taste / soup / sauce/ combo. I suggest saving some protein and the noodles for the brothy soup you make at the end. Listen to the staffs suggestions and youll have a good time. I forgot to mention the wonderfully delcious sauces. Mmmmm. The sauces. This is the best meal I have had in a long time. The quality ingredients will leave you full in a way that doesnt make you feel sick or over full.

Its kind of overpriced and the portions are small but its still a fun experience. The main unique thing here is that theres a process and timing for the meal. You start with an individual hot pot and you pick your combo. These portions are super small. You know its small when they have 3 sizes bigger than Large. They come mix your sauces for you and boil the water so you really dont have to do anything. This is a pretty service-heavy meal. You cook your own stuff when they bring it to you. Note that with the salmon, its sushi grade so dont worry too much about having to super cook that thing. At the end, theyll add a sauce to whats left of your hot pot and throw some udon noodles in it, so you end the meal with a bowl of udon. There are better values out there like Little Sheep and Zhabuki in both quantity and quality, but the experience as a whole is pretty nice especially if you are wanting a meal where you have to sit there for at least 30 minutes, like a date or an hour of zen by yourself. Its a great casual but nice vibe.

My son took me there for dinner after a show tonight. The restaurant is in a nice location. The decor is clean and modern. Price is on the high side for Shabu Shabu. For the same price you can get all you can eat Korean BBQ+Shabu Shabu. The Khumbu soup base was very thin. The veggie plate came with good portion of Napa cabbage, but the rest of the ingredients are very scanty. Beef was of good quality; salmon was so thin that it breaks apart when you try to pick it up with the chopsticks after cooked. Absolutely DO NOT order the so called JUMBO SCALLOPS. I was expecting 4 pieces of whole scallops; instead they came in paper thin sliced round disk of about half inch in diameter. Im sure it was not scallop. It tasted imitation and fishy, similar flavor as imitation crab but of a more rubbery texture. Unlike the real scallops which turn opaque after cooked, these fake scallops still remained semi-translucent. Overall it was not of good value in my opinion. I for one would not return.

Ive been to Shabu Shabu three times and I can echo the sentiment of others about the nice decor and the excellent/friendly staff. The meats are excellent quality, hands down. The salmon and scallops are sushi grade, and highly recommended. My issue is this: I understand that the meats have to be on the thinner side in order to cook, but not so thin that they cant hold together under cooking (who wants to pay for meats, receive certain number of pieces and have to chase it down in the pot?). My opinion is that meat should be thicker than a piece of paper, and for the most part they are, but 3 of 6 on my last visit werent. Reason this is such an issue it the cost is on higher side, and as the owner has responded, the meat is higher quality. UPDATE: weve been around 4 times since original review and the protein quality/thickness has increased very much! Im very satisfied

First time I went here it was new and not busy. Food was good and unique. On my second visit it was crowded. We were told it would be a 30-45 minute wait for a table. After a hour and a half had passed we were told it would be another 30 minutes until a table was ready. To add insult to injury at least 25% of the tables were empty and "waiting on people with reservation". The table most near where we were waiting was empty for 45 minutes while we waiting patiently for them to find us a seat. We ended up leaving before getting a table and I was asked to pay for the single beer ($4) that I drank while waiting. Something I felt should have been on the house after this excruciating amount of time. Bottom line the service is unorganized at best. After this experience I will absolutely not ever return.

Each of the three times Ive visited Ive had an excellent waiter who explained the shabu shabu process of making your own fantastic noodle soup while chowing down to your hearts content on extremely fresh and healthy ingredients. You can ask for special noodles (green tea for one) and particular veggies if you want. The saucers are all made in house and are flavorful and fresh. All the rice you need, just ask for more. Its fun to come here in a group. The place is super clean, comfortable, modern, pleasant with tvs and pop music and lots of people having conversation over their meals. Its a really fun and flavorful experience!

Ive eaten here 3 times now and I highly recommend it. Nothing but freshly prepared, high-quality ingredients. There is enough variety to suit about any taste, whether you like Wagyu beef, sashimi-quality salmon or vegetarian options. For dessert try the home made ice cream bars. Its great after a hot spicy meal. If youre unfamiliar with shabu-shabu, its basically a Japanese style hot pot, where you cook your vegetable options and swish your thinly sliced meat or seafood in a pot of boiling water and then season it with an array of savory sauces. Worth a try if the same old Asian food choices are getting boring.
