The quality of the sushi is great, but unfortunately this place gets three stars because of service and confusion. We took our parents here for the first time and were pretty disappointed. If you want the $25 sushi all you can eat, and your friend wants more of the special rolls at $30, then automatically you HAVE to both pay $30. We had a table of four and so it became even more confusing and frustrating because not all of us wanted the special rolls. Yet we ended up having to pay because of the policy. Honestly, to make things easier they should just have one price for all you can eat. The service was so horrible, they didnt know if one of us would be allowed to order from the menu instead of getting all you can eat... What? Its a restaurant! Then, when they would bring out the rolls, our server had no idea what she was giving us. She said, and I quote, "this is... I dont know, sushi" Well thanks, thats helpful. Anyway, the sushi was awesome, thats the only reason why they are getting three stars.

Love this place! Found it by accident but glad we did. I love authentic ramen so i knew we had to give it a try. Walked in and let them know that it was our first time. Our waiter was very informative about the different menus since they have a regular menu along with a separate Sushi menu and then they have an all you can eat menu. I ordered the Man-Doo steamed which exceeded my expectations. Then I ordered one plate of the Crunchyroll and that is what is in the picture attached. That was probably my favorite part of my meal. I also ordered the Miso Ramen and I asked them to add spicy oil which they did. The ramen as a whole was not as good as I had hoped. I would definitely go back just not for the ramen.

Ok so lets talk sushi. Top quality, all real top quality ingredients. Food was amazing mostly. We had rainbow roll, spicy tuny crunch, uptown, tuna handroll and egg rolls. The spicy tuna crunch was sloppy and displeasurable, OTHER THAN THAT, delicious. Now the all you can eat situation is a ruse. I can eat more than i should. Typically, i order two entrees because i am a gross human being. Their policy on the $25 or $30 a person (everyone at the table must order the same) is very strict. If you leave a single grain of rice on your plate, they will charge you full price in addition to the money already paid. All in all, food is good. Service was a bit slow (especially considering 2 hour time limit)

Great trendy Japanese Bistro. Gui has the freshest sushi & sashimi. Modern, utilitarian design. Very clean! The outdoor seating is incredible. Beautifully lit trees, and deck floor is lit with square glass panels of colored stones, that shimmer like tiny jewels. Full bar and they serve great sake bombs. The waitstaff is quick, attentive and friendly. The owner is always on site, and visits each table to welcome you, to see if everything is great. One of our favorite sushi bars in Dallas. If you plan on going on an "all you can eat night for $25" - Sunday & Wednesday be prepared a for a bit of a wait. If you go any other night, the prices are great, and the portions are massive.

The all-you-can-eat sushi lunch special is a great value; just order a decently-sized portion for the first round, because the staff wont approach again for a while -- unless you sit front and center at the bar. There is a fee if you dont finish what you ordered, but thats never a problem for me. Overall, its a nice people-watching spot right off McKinney Avenue. Arrive early or youll be surrounded by clusters of Uptown businessmen. The sushi itself is, for the most part, quite tasty and fresh. The complimentary miso soup is always a nice precursor to meals on colder days. Update: That all-you-can-eat special keeps going up up up in price, which Im not too pleased about. -1 star

I am Asian and look for good Asian restaurants wherever I visit. The food, service in Gui is very good and the atmosphere is relatively pleasant. However, the food is expensive compared to the same level of restaurants elsewhere (Normally you get 4-6 small kimchi, radish dishes for each person in other restaurants. In Gui, the 3 of us ordered Korean but we got 3 small dishes of kimchi, radish for all of us. When I asked for more I was told that I will be charged extra). Also the rice come in a very small bowl, when I asked for more I was charged extra... Its not a place I will be visiting again.

All you can eat sushi. " Im sorry what was that? ". It was heaven. All in all, it was good. We say at the sushi bar and were greeted by the sushi makers, waiters, hostess. It was very nice and a little confusing because as one was explaining the menu another would chime in with a drink order or something else. No big deal. There are some caveats to the all you can eat, such as, no taking home left overs and what is left over you pay full price for. Just dont go ham and order a bunch up front.

Went to Sundays $20 sushi night, we got there early so we had no problem getting a table. Caution parking lot is tiny... if youre driving a Hummer you may have issues. Only around 12-15 rolls on list you can choose from. There were some general rolls then some more than general rolls. Beware if you get headaches easy, the lighting leaves something to be desired. Even if arriving early plan on being there for a couple of hours atleast. Go as a group for the best value.

The Firecracker Sushi was excellent. It was spicy, but not overpowering. For starters, we had the Tempura, which included Shrimp & Veggies. The California Rolls were great. The Beef Terriyaki Bowl was delicious and the serving portion was more than we could eat. The service was excellent. Parking in front of the restaurant is next to impossible. Best to park in the parking lot behind the restaurant. We will be going back.

Horrible- the Bento Box was less than impressive- greasy tempura, California roll was cream cheese w/rice wrapped around it, chicken was horrible-tasted like it had been soaking since they opened that morning- I went at 2:20 pm- but also it tasted like the skin was still on it! Was going to have my birthday party w/them but have decided against it.

Nice little sushi spot on McKinney. The all you can eat option is interesting but a little pricey. The freshness was decent but not the freshest I have had in Dallas. Parking is limited in front so you may be forced to valet in rear. Close walk to bars and nightlife on McKinney Ave.

I had never been to a Korean restaurant in my life until this Monday. In comparison with all other American (traditional) restaurants, this one was strange...but in an intriguing way. I will probably visit again to try another dish with a difficult-to-pronounce-and-remember name.

Absolutely loved it for the price and quality - not the most expensive in town, but a great product. Sushi was fresh and the bibimbop and soups were so big we got two meals out of each. We didnt try it, but the unlimited sushi deal during happy hour seems like a steal too!
