The Roti Grill is a big disappointment. After several occasions of ordering food here, I can say 4 things about this place. 1) I will not be eating here any more. 2) The food is decent, to be fair. 2) However, the food is WELL overpriced, especially given the fact the experience is akin to ordering at a McDonalds counter and eating at a mall food court (eg. $32.00 takeout for 2 with no drinks). 3) The service is terribly slow, and you get the feeling you are being intentionally ignored as you ENDLESSLY watch the expressionless employees. I have twice waited over 15 minutes at the counter after ordering food from home 30-40 minutes prior to pick up. The snails pace might be tolerable if there was some attempt to acknowledge the throng of frustrated waiting customers. Despite the fact that I do like the food, it always seems I leave a lot of money on the counter and walk out with a big bag of frustration.

As with most Indian restaurants its just ok I guess when your from a country its hard to find good food in that cuisine away from your home country, you will just compare it to what you have had and in your head its never that good. We ordered biryani, the lamb was alright but could have been more tender and juicy same for the chicken in chicken biryani and the rice didnt seem in sink with the whole dish, in a biryani both the meat and the rice has to flow together, they have to be part of the same team, that was missing, may be they cook the rice separately from the meat and then mix it, I dont know, have no clue how that works but have had enough biryani to know when that is missing..their mango lassi is good, service is ok and the place all in all has a very nice vibe

This is the worst place i have ever visited. Seeing few reviews and photos of food platter online, i went to this restaurant. Being an indian i expected some indian food. Food is awful, the veg thali sucks. The gulab jamun tasted like sweet rubber. Rice was stale. The Aloo Paratha was thick bread with some peas and aloo inside which tasted bad. Chicken biryani was some wet rice with garnished with red chilli powder and the chicken was soggy. If you are an Indian please never go to this place. The prices were too high for the quality of food and service they offer. The woman at the counter has such sulking face and weird expression on her face, that you would feel like going back the moment you start talking to her.

Oh I love it! Its amazing you can really taste the freshness. Its sooo delicious , the tandoori chicken is absolutely fantastic. I love it the grilled chicken is amazing in the marinade that they used in it just delicious it makes it salty but just out of this world I love it by itself my boyfriend loves it with the certain sauce but all in I have it 5* cause it really need 6 Im now a big fan. I can tell my big fan because we order it 2 or 3 days in a row same things, and we stand up and eat at our kitchen counter and dont move cuz theres no point of going anywhere it just stand up and eat it all we get takeout love love it

I come here once every 1-2 weeks. The food is amazing and the atmosphere can make this a great quicker dinner spot. This restaurant could easily get a 4 or 5 star from me if they improved just a few small things. #1 Every time I get the 2 step, I always feel they could add 2-3 more pieces of protein. Getting 4-5 thumb size chunks of chicken or lamb just doesnt get it done for me. #2 The prices are becoming a little steep. The 2 step, a side of Naan and water is running around $14-$15 before a tip. I have a feeling Im about to start pulling back and going to other places.

SO SO, thie Roti Grill is not enough Indian when you use Basil from can with little flavor instead of fresh Cilantro and you use Turmeric in rice instead of Safron. Food is average, when you add too much watery sauce that is not spicy and even may have sugar in it (owned by Gujrati?) and two white pieces of chicken in a main course chicken curry, you think some thing is wrong. No, will not recommend to any one or go back. Will find another good Indian food place in Uptown Dallas and will come back to let you know, because I am going to live here for long time to come.

Have you been to a place where the chicken "tikka" doesnt taste anything like tikka? Theres not a single bit of the actual flavor in the food. I ordered a chicken tikka wrap just to find 10 mil vegetable pieces and 2 meat pieces. Give me a break! ive tried their biriyani too, with just about 3 pieces of chicken. Texas portions will give you "extra" rice, just to make you feel competent. Flavorless, low quality... and during a mid Saturday afternoon, you will find zero customers in the rest. That shows the quality of this place. Stay away!

Roti Grill is a great concept for Indian food. You pick you curry style, protein, and portion making it easy to mix and match. I would say that it havent been able to tell the difference between the Texas size and regular as they come in the same to-go containers. For me it might be a little over priced, especially if you are eating alone. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nothing special, but good for a quick in and out. If you are really in the mood for Indian food, Roti can do it every now and then.

It was edible, but talk about 1 dimensional! One of the things I love about Indian food is how multi dimensional it usually is - several flavors that you can taste on top of each other, but that compliment each other perfectly. This place was just 1 flavor and quite boring. The frozen Tika Masala from Trader Joes is better than the one here! My daughters, 8 and 10, both love Indian food and said Kebab n Curry in Richardson was way better than this place and I absolutely agree.

While I do agree that its not the cheapest place -- I definitely think the food is excellent. Fresh, cooked to order and not a bland spicing where everything tastes the same. As far as portion size -- I think Americans believe a huge plate of food is normal, but in reality the super-sized mentality is what is making people fat. I always get a platter and have more than enough food. Definitely normal portion sizes. Love it - by far my favorite in dallas.

The food/atmosphere is excellent but the regular size dish portions are too small and inconsistent. Many times not enough meat is served in the dish - the majority of the dish is sauce and rice. Roti Grill needs to add more meat because jumping to the $13 Texas size dish leads the customer to consider a different restaurant at a higher price point. Fix this aspect of the dining experience and Ill give you 4-5 stars. My stomach will thank you.
