Just went back to Fujiyama for my second time. It just keeps getting better. (I know theyre known for their sushi, but I havent tried it yet. So this review wont talk it.) The Champon soup the first time was epic. The Pork Cutlet Katsu Curry with steamed rice was amazing - so filling. I love how they included some miso soup, a salad, and also gave a cut orange for desert at the end. The meat is tender, the curry is thick and salted to perfection, and the rice has right balance of firmness, softness and moisture. If you plan on visiting and want try something new to drink that isnt alcoholic (if your friends have designated you as the driver - just an example), youve got to try the Ramune. (Dont be afraid to ask how to open it if you dont know.) Its a very nice soda that isnt too sweet, and has a very nice, light flavor thats refreshing and delightful. Its a bit expensive (20$ for me, with appetizer), but if youre looking to have a quick bite to eat and want to try something new thats more up-scale, try this place. Oh, the best part of the entire restaurant: the staff is super nice and friendly. Best customer service Ive had in any restaurant in Plano or Dallas so far.

Been coming here for over 7 years. Sushi is typically good, but most of my business will now go to the former fujiyama operators that currently run a Nari Sushi on old Denton. At least they acknowledge me when I order. I had to walk out of Fujima during my last visit after waiting more than 30 minutes and not It took more than 10 minutes for them to clean a table so I could be seated. Waited 20 minutes after ordering water, sake, iced tea, miso soup until we left to go eat somewhere else. Two- thirds of the restaurant was full! The severs seemed to running around back like a bunch of chickens. If I had to wait any longer I would have stormed the place like Godzilla!! There are too many other options that are more deserving of your business to get this kind of treatment. This is the first time I have ever had to vacate a restaurant after being seated! If you go and there is any kind of crowd, forget it.

This place never fails to amaze me! We have moved farther from this little find but we will drive the extra time for sure! When we come here we normally get omakase or a combo meal. Omakase means surprise in Japanese (so I am told). Essentially it is a continuous course meal of chefs choice. You pick the price! We have always left stuffed no matter what price we choose. We used to be able to walk in and do it but I dont believe that is the case anymore. We lately have been ordering the Combo which comes with a miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, grilled giant scallops appetizer, simple tempura appetizer, and a special roll. The other combo includes the same but nigiri instead. The yellowtail heaven is a great appetizer too! My favorite special roll is the super toro roll! Everything goes together so perfectly! Also a favorite is the volcano shell. I could go on & on!

My wife and I have been coming to this place for years. It was sad when we moved but we still drive from Irving to eat there. First off, the chef is amazing. He is very personable and absolutely excellent at his craft. Second, no where, and Ive tried many many places, no where in Dallas is as good as Fuji Yama. Its ridiculous. I can without a doubt, recommend this place to anyone and never worry about my word. I would be comfortable suggesting them for someones wedding or anniversary and know for a fact they would not be let down. The quality is out of this world. Anyone who would give this place a bad review either doesnt like sushi or is an impossible to please, looking for fault person. Go eat there, it will become a thing.

This little hidden gem needs to be social-media-blasted throughout North Dallas! My friend and I ate there this last Friday night. We randomly chose it, and were so glad that we did! The sushi was phenomenal! We were in absolute heaven, gobbling down 8 different varieties of sushi. It was fresh, tasty, served with excellent service. The fact that it was hardly busy on a Friday night was disappointing, because everything was so awesome! They need a little "PR" to make people aware, so I will do my best! Please try this place...you will NOT be disappointed!

My wife and I love this place so much. The staff is so nice and I think they know us now because we come so often. The chef and his helper are very friendly and make some of the best sushi youll ever have. The cooked appetizers like the bacon wrapped cherry tomatoes are awesome also. They have a great wine special on Wednesdays and I think good specials most days. We just always go on Wednesday as a halfway through the week treat. Please treat yourself to this place if youre in the area and like Japanese food. You will not be disappointed.

I cant say enough good things about this place. Its changed ownership a few times over the last few years. All have been good, and not trying to compare, but I like these owners. They always do a great job with fresh fish, and excellent customer service, but yesterday they outdid themselves. At my request, they brought in a special order Golden Eye Snapper. We went in with some friends (their first time) and had a great night. Won (the chef) did an amazing job with the cuts and presentation. I posted some pictures also.

I just moved to the area and found this little jewel. It is quaint, clean, friendly, great service, and inviting. I have been here 3 times in as many weeks. There is free wifi, the sushi chefs are always friendly, and the servers are very very attentive. I support small business and owners, but this place is solid. The menu is simple, and executed very well. I would recommend to most. If they would dim the lights just a touch and get more romantic seating options this would be a great date place!!!!

Fujiyama, like all sushi, is a little bit pricey for me, but here at least you get what you pay for. The Super Toro roll was 13 dollars and worth every bit, best roll Ive had anywhere. They have the cheaper standard rolls of course, tuna and yellowtail, etc. The man who owns the place is always at the sushi bar doing the rolls, and hes real courteous and personable. I dont have the money to go all the time, but when I feel like blowing money on sushi, theres nowhere else Id rather go.
