Great people; average pizza. If you cant tell from what I write below, I know pizza....This is a family run place and the service is excellent. The pizza could be excellent too. But the thick outer crust line is just too thick. As much as 2 inches in some places. That reduces cheese expense but it also reduces customer satisfaction. The cheese tasted to me like the cheese used was a blend and not 100% mozzarella. I tasted Parmesan cheese and I dont want parmesan cheese. I want mozzarella. The toppings were not spread all the way to the crust line either. Not only was there a huge crust but the toppings stopped well shy of the crust line. Another tactic to reduce cost. My pizza was a "supreme" and had lots of veggies and limited meats. Another way to reduce costs. For a $20 large supreme (Wood Fired Fully Loaded) I was certainly underwhelmed. They need to go heavier and spread the toppings more broadly. And not sneak in light portions of the meats. And the crust is not up to par. The crust was too flat. Maybe they used a press or the dough they used for my pizza was old. It didnt rise much that is for sure. Lastly, they had a 2-topping large special they told me about. I said I would take that with pepperoni and sausage and I wanted to pay for an additional topping - 1/2 onion and 1/2 jalapeno. But they wouldnt let me add on the extra topping. Weird. Why not? I was willing to pay a full topping price for jalapenos and onions which dont come close to costing what sausage and pepperoni cost but they could have charged me full list price and I would have gladly paid it. Why would you not allow that? Very odd. I am moving into Coles Crossing and had high hopes. I really did. I am very disappointed. I was hoping that this would be my pizza place. It wont be. But I will order again when I dont have time to drive to my favorite place over in Fairfield.

First of all, Excellent Pizza! This location is primarily a takeout establishment. There is not any tables to sit down and eat at, except for the bar stools... which, I imagine, most people use if they need to wait for pizza to be ready. I have been here only one time, and I am so glad that i did NOT call my order in via phone. I was able to sit there and bask in the extremely ridiculous aroma of the pizzas that were flying out of the oven! And, oh the oven! While it is not 100 years old, and rich with history, it is very well built and very very effective. Tom ( I guess it was him ) was in charge and did an expert job maneuvering each pie into position and constantly rotating and sliding each around inside to ensure perfection! There were about 5 other staff helping crank out delicious pizza and this was on a weekday at about 6pm. I can not wait to go back and get more pizza again, and i will be sure to walk-in and order so i can wait and be happy! Oh yeah, and the website is pretty darn accurate and very helpful with making decisions about what to get. For those interested, my 1st Wood Fired Pizza was a small half ham half chicken. And it was freakin awesome. And for anyone still reading all the way to the end.... I have been to NYC and had Lombardis and Johns on Bleeker St... and also been to Italy twice... and this was darn good pizza!! No doubt! Thanks Tom!! P.s. I actually found the photo that i took of my pizza while in the parking lot! See attached image.

Its a shame that I had to move away from the Cypress area after living there for years; Wood Fired Pizza was my go-to pizzaria every Friday or Saturday night. Tom and his family are wonderful people who use only the finest ingredients. You can tell that they take true pride in what they are serving. Every ingredient and aspect of their cooking process has clearly been examined and refined. Not once did I ever have anything less than a delicious pizza and I really looked forward to it every week. Typically I dont prefer supreme pizzas, but the Wood Fired Fully Loaded is somehow greater than the sum of all its parts and better than the typical one or two topping pizzas I would otherwise normally order. The Bianco pizza is also a personal favorite and a small one is a great substitute for something like cheesy bread since they dont really do typical pizzaria appetizers. The salads were always fresh and the gooey butter dessert they make is also worth trying. This place was a saving grace for me for years after moving from New Jersey and missing good pizza. It is a MUST TRY for anyone who says they love pizza, regardless of where you live in or around Houston.

Being from the New York / Philadelphia area, its been hard to find good pizza in the area. Wood Fired is, by far, the best gourmet pizza in the area. The ingredients are all top shelf, and the owner cooks every single pizza himself. I cant recommend this high enough. Dont forget to try the butter cake, its delicious as well. PS - the two 1 star reviews are probably both from Palios owners/employees, as Im sure theyve lost a lot of business after Wood Fired opened. Ive had both, and if you want Dominos style pizza, go with Palios. If you want real, gourmet pizza, go with Wood Fired.

I just moved back out here to the burbs a few months ago after living nearly 4 years inside the loop. I cannot tell you what joy it is to have found a place that serves "inner loop" quality pizza! This place uses fresh ingredients and it tastes amazing! The staff is so friendly and clean. I wouldnt recommend any other pizza place within a 20 mile radius. This is the one youre looking for! Thanks Yahoo reviewers for helping me decide to try this place that has become my new favorite spot.

This is a wonderful place the pizza was excellent and the service was outstanding we was able to carry a conversation the whole time we waited on our pizza. We mistakenly thought it was a dine in pizza restaurant that did not stop them from willing to but some benches together we didnt have them do it but it shows how far they are willing to go to satisfy the customer and did I mention the pizza is absolutely excellent.

We have been eating here for years and in my opinion is the best pizza in the area. The ingredients are quality and the wood fired oven makes the pizza taste different than any gas or electric oven could give you. While the food is great, the family run operation that consistently delivers a good customer experience is why I have been a customer for over a decade. If you want a good pizza, order from here...

I am a delivery driver that occasionally receives orders for this location (I am not employed or affiliated with Wood Fired Pizza Co) as well as a customer. The staff is consistently friendly and polite. Its clear that they care about and love what they do. The only thing better than the service is the pizza. Everythings hand-made and delicious, some of the best pizza Ive ever had.
