Tofu in the miso soup was SPOILED sour. Also was VERY thin. ...but the Agedashi Tofu ROCKED when I returned, then the Kungpao was also VERY good (out of 60+ metro areas Ive visited on 5 continents) so I upgraded my rating. ...but Miso was sadly VERY thin again (though not spoilt-sour last month). Above-average decor & hostess/wait staff, all 3 times I visited. It is CROWDED especially on weekends so it cant be as bad as the typical "3.7" place -- victims of their own success is possible, however? Id suggest dont come on weekend, your 1st time (or get take-away on weekends, like I was there for). Interesting: their rating has dropped (to 3.8 in April/May), even as they improved (since a year ago). Hopefully theyll win more people back: Im willing to give it another try without waiting a full year, this time... A year ago, I wrote: "I can only SMH and laugh at how the people in this little hicktown think Take Niwa is even close to real (worthy of 4.5 stars) Asian food." 4.5 stars formerly? ...In retrospect, now I see a slew of fake-looking reviews from "A google user": 10-20 of them, ALL from late 2011 or early 2012, and I wonder if its under new management or if many of the old staff were fired after generating so many complaints...or they just gained experience the hard way. Reviews (from real people) seem to be improving in the last 5 months. other notes I wrote 1 year ago: Decent Lo Mein...but who CANT make a Lo Mein? (actually would be better with more roasted onions, come to think) Hot & Sour soup tasted like they bought a can & microwaved it (good quality but...), maki-eggrolls also tasted...prepackaged (or pre-made in house...but then badly storaged), but had a VERY GOOD sauce with the rolls. Sushi Maki was decent, but that one was overpriced.

We went for the Hibachi show and were pretty impressed. Having experienced it before, I have to say that this one really stood out due to the performers quick wit and ability to be more than just samurai chefs. We each had steak that was mouth-wateringly delicious. Mine literally melted in my mouth, which is always a sign that youve gotten something tender and special. The fried rice is a traditional recipe that uses sesame seeds, which made it a real treat as well. I also found out while we were there that the place delivers. Thats something to keep in mind too. Ive seen some reviews that have questioned the customer service, but that wasnt our experience at all. The restaurant was clean, the environment was inviting, and everyone there was just fantastic to deal with. My friend went in expecting language barrier issues solely based on things she had heard, but that wasnt a problem either. Overall, I would have to say that this is one of the best Japanese restaurants weve been to in years. The next time, I plan on finally giving the sushi a try to see whether it measures up to my California experiences. If so, Ill up its rating even more!

Have been here SEVERAL times and gotten delivery from here as well, but I will not visit for a long while. The customer service has gone down quite a bit. Ive had servers throw straws at me, make rude remarks, forget our drinks until food arrived and even had a waiter ignore our table for over 15 minutes. A few of my close friends have visited here and also had similar ugly experiences with staff. Every time I have ordered delivery, something always goes wrong. I even once had them deliver my food to a completely different house and they asked if I could go pick it up. You seem to pay for the setting more than you do the food, being it seems a bit expensive for the amount you get. I wish them well and would love to be given the opportunity to adjust my rating, later.

Being from the Dallas area our expectations were very high for sushi. This place was fantastic! Everything was fresh and savory. I had the dragon roll and LOVED IT (husband didnt like it as much because it had sweet sauce), hubby had his usual Philadelphia roll and it was good as usual, we shared the California crunch which I really liked (again it had sweet sauce, less than the dragon roll, but my husband still didnt care for it as much). The salmon sushi was fresh and the tuna stacker appetizer was delicious although a little too spicy for me. Overall it was a great experience, nice atmosphere and worth the price. If youre looking for a good sushi place, go here!

We had a large party, so made a reservation early, so we had no wait. The chef was great, best kabuki chef Ive ever seen in my 40+ years and 4 states. It was my sons 14th birthday and originally requested PF Changs, but a coworker suggested this. It was awesome, the kids will always want to go here for birthdays after tonight and chef Michael J. Have no idea if thats his release name, but he wears a red hat versus the black of almost all the others. I truly think we lucked out with him, our table was much more lively. In any event the food was great as well as the entertainment, totally worth the extra few dollars.

This place was rated as one of the best because of the lack of other places in this town to be compared. Theres nothing special about it, as a matter of fact it is generic. No well rated will sit you at an awkward table with high trafic by the door. At that it reek of clorox, when we lifted our menus off the table it was driping wet because they failed to dry it. Disgusted we walked out on them. Generic over priced food that is not grade A anything. They need to justify their expensive rent and are in desperate need of attention by patrons who dont know any different.

This place and its service sucks!!! we had to wait 20 minutes. The place was empty!!! As we waited at the bar a lady came up to the bartender and said "ive been waiting for 20 minutes and no one came" and left very angry. The bartender started talking crap and said "thats not my job" and laughed. When we finaly got escorted to the table we were seated in a place we didnt want to be seated and the waitress didnt want to sit us where we wanted. We decided we were not going to spend another minute in this place. Service sucks in this place and I do not recomend it!

First off, waitress was not pleasant or inviting like you would assume anyone in hospitality would be. And we were not offered straws when everyone around us had them. Secondly, I ordered my first bento box ever, for $20.00, and they could not even go through the effort of chopping fresh fruit for a fruit salad. It was your ordinary fruit cocktail from a can you grab at HEB for $.69. The chicken teriyaki was hard as a rock, you could probably break windows with it. Can definitely say I will not be returning. Would recommend the bottled beer, it was fantastic.

I cant believe Id have to rate this place 2 stars because of one jackass in there. This one lady, Japanese I presume hearing her accent, was a total douche. Very rude. Made me feel like crap at the end of the conversation. "Well if you found a better deal online then order there, ok?" was her last words before she hung up. Who the hell do you think you are? Ive been ordering from this place for a long time and this lady just ruined it. Just lost one of your regular customers. Great job.
