I reserved a separate dining room made a reservation for a 50th Birthday party for my wife, about 20 guests, months before the event. About two hours before my reservation time, the Yoshi Mgr. called to say another guest had rented the room next to ours and that she objected to our having a room next to where they had a group of minors attending a birthday party. I spent the next hour, back and forth, on the phone with the Mgr. to assure I had a room for my 20 guests at Yoshis. I arrived to find that the other group, about 50 teens and a group of adults, had a DJ playing Hip Hop so loud that it was like being in traffic, sitting in our room with glass doors as a partition. Thanks Yoshis. Sorry honey, and guests. I would not use them for any event in the future, as I could not expect the proper consideration for my event, if it meant they could not rent to larger group, and not give me enough notice to change my plans. Yoshis used to be my favorite place to dine out. I have not been back since.

I went for lunch last week, and I was only slightly impressed. They have an enormous sushi list, but the rolls were a little loose, and the salmon was not the freshest. They were not very generous with the amount of seafood in my roll, either. The miso soup was watery, and needed more dashi/miso flavor. Although the place has a korean owner, their korean dishes were far from authentic. The meat was way too thin and tough, rather than sweet, grilled, and tender as it should be. The korean soup was so oily and filled with red peppers. I felt like my mouth was coated in oil after just one bite. These were obviously extremely americanized korean dishes. Perhaps dinner is better. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and they seem to have a full bar. At least I gave this place a try. Id rather go to Midori, though.

The food here is excellent and the service is deplorable. I drove 30 miles to eat one night and was meeting several family members here. I was the first of the group to arrive, the first one to order and the very last one served and we ate the same thing. They seated us in the back room and the wait staff paid lot of attention to the young people in our group and no attention to the seniors. If you are a senior and want to get treated like crap this is the place for you. To add insult to injury they added a huge gratuity even though we were seated at a different tables and the food was served randomly. I will never submit myself to this again.

Service in Corpus seems to be always slow. Servers are never in a rush. However, my server was quite attentive. I can forgive the initial wait since its a holiday. The hot and sour soup is definitely not worth it and $10 for an order of chopped & marinated scallops is far more than any upscale sushi restaurant in Houston. The special rolls are delicious as their sauce effectively compliments the rolls. However, the generic rolls emphasize how their sushi rice is not up to standards. (I believe the way generic rolls are done represent the quality) Main dislike: the menu is a book. It is in serious need of pictures!

The waitress accidentally spilled a sakitini in my moms $300 purse and the manager Stephanie has no professional skill or ability to handle the situation. She in fact said if you are gonna compla n about something happening then dont come back we dont need ur business. I asked for her manager and of course this person is never there and cant be contacted because he barely speaks English according to her. Then she hung up on me....do ur self a favor and dont go here. No matter how the food is the way you are treated as a customer is how much they value you and ur hard earned dollar. This business does not.

My wife and I enjoyed a few of there many rolls. This sushi place has more rolls than I have seen at many other places and their price is great. Coming from The Woodlands, good sushi will cost, however, this place has great sushi and great prices. Average price is around 8-14 a roll, which is fantastic. The flavor profiles are very defined and developed. This place is a great way to explore new foods and flavors! We had: Marilyn Monroe and Michelle(My FAVORITE) rolls!

I appreciate the friendly and attentive staff they have, also the variety in their menu. I am a picky seafood eater, if its not looking or smelling fresh, I wont even touch it... The food here honestly exceeded my expectations. Everything we ordered tasted great. I only wished the rolls were a little bigger for the price. The place looked clean and they played soothing music. Pleasant first experience, I will definitely be returning.

We had a great waiter named Michael. Very friendly, very helpful. I got the stir fry combination dinner which was great. The white steamed rice was great and flavorful, especially with my dish. My wife got the chicken yakisoba dinner. It was also very good. The only issue we had was that my wife asked for it to be 2 out-of 5 spicy. Will definitely be back to try the sushi.

Chef Tony and the Boys are amazingly friendly and talented! They can throw down on some delicious sushi! Epic rolls are our favorite to order, its the chefs way of being creative with rolls and eating something special off menu! Try the Kolbi Beef and Sweet n sour chicken of your not a fan of sushi. Ooo & the Thai Beef Salad...fire!!

The food was fresh and great, but the restaurant frequently seems understaffed and the service is, therefore, terrible. I once waited 15 minutes before anyone approached our table, another 15 minutes to get water, and 45 minutes before our salads even came out. Its not worth the wait.

Good service... but dont come here for the spicy seafood soup - big let down. This soup consisted of two ok sized shrimp, one scallop cut into three pieces, one clam, and a few chives, submerged in something seemingly similar to dish water. No spice. I hope the sushi is better.

One of my favorite sushi places in town, although in all honesty I would give it a 4 star rating. Im just giving it a 5 star rating since people unfairly rate based on things out of the restaurants control. Great food, dishes are Americanized but the rolls are great.

Ive been coming here for years and Im never disappointed. The sushi is always good and if you venture onto the entree menu, theyve got some really great dishes. Service is generally pretty good. Sushi can take awhile if its super busy but that happens anywhere.

Nice environment, very clean, friendly and professional wait-staff, good selection of alcoholic beverages, amazing sushi, and hands down the best tasting Asian cuisine in town. Dont let the negative reviews fool you, this place is awesome.

The service was weak. No gyoza on a Friday night at dinner time? Then they appeared so we ordered them. Frozen, yuck. Fried rice, bamboo garden blows them out of the water with price and flavor. Sushi tastes fishy.
