How is Red Lobster under the "cheap eats" section on google? Its listed as $ instead of $$$. This location has been here since I was a kid but back then it was the special ocassion once a year kind of restaurant we all dressed up to go to. Over the years I noticed downhill changes like cleanliness, cheaper chairs and even the glasses went from a heavy glass to a cheap plastic. Its still the Red Lobster I remember when it comes to taste and price for the most part but with the downgrades n so much more seafood competition these days the price is steep. Especially when we live on the gulf n can buy locally fresh fish from other places for a better price. In the end to some it has more sentimental value with places like the Black Diamond Oyster Bar, Sterling Stockade and Panchos closing down after eating there throughout your childhood. ....I still want to set the lobsters free every time I go there though

We have been here before and the food is usually pretty good but today I hate to say was not the best. I ordered the Crab cakes topped with shrimp, well to my disappointment the crabcakes looked raw. They were not friend like they usually are. My son is an Executive Chef, we were both dining here, and he took one look at it and said the shrimp was just put on top of the cakes and "cooked in the salamander" which is used to broil cooking only the top. He wanted to call the manager but I said no after all the shrimp was cooked. It was a disappointment. On the upside the service was great. Our waiter was always making sure we were doing ok and seeing to it we enjoyed our meal. I guess sometimes the cooks dont care what they serve and if there is no one that complains, they dont get it, no customers, no job.

Not the red lobster I knew. Menus need to be replaced with untorn clean menus. Please dont serve salads in a hot bowl. Obviously unfiltered frying oil leaving everything tasting like some non-descript fish thing. My wife said some of the scallops tasted "off" The calamari appetizer was non descript and over fried , the majority of which were the bits of the breading. The lobster pot basically tasted like the salty sausage that was sliced up within it. The waitress was very cordial. She was wondering why we left a bunch of stuff and ask if we wanted a bag. I shook my head but someone was nice and said yes. So we probably will toss it when we get home. For the price I was expecting much better and certainly remember this location being exceptional in the past. Not too sure about going back now.

The food was great the service was excellent. And although the server did take what felt like a life time to greet us he was was very polite and friendly. I would have given the restaurant five stars if it wasnt for the hostess who was rude. The mintue we came in the look on her face was everything but welcoming. To add insult to injury the two that were there argued about who would take us to the table cuz neither one wanted to. It not only made me feel uncomfortable but like i was back in the 1920s. Its a shame and beyond sad that people get treated poorly based on looks or appearance. (Especially by other hispanics IN CORPUS CHRISTI at that)

Came here on Mothers Day and only waited 1 hr before we were seated. The have a very long bench where you can sit and wait. Normal wait during busy hours is 30mins. What i like about this particular place is that the food quality is very consistent between visits. The price can be a little on the high side for a chain restaurant. The service on this day was very good considering how busy they were. Our waiter was excellent. I will come back. My mom loves the golden fried shrimp here.

I have NEVER had a bad experience here!! For some reason on a particular visit I decided I wanted "blackened" seasoned scallops. I didnt see them on the menu so I asked the server if they had them he said he didnt know but he would ask the chef. He came back & said they didnt have them normally but would be glad to fix them for me!! They did & they were VERY GOOD!!! This restaurant REALLY knows what customer service is!!!!! :)

Have always ordered Walts fried shrimp plate because the shrimp were the best. Tried the plate today (01-31-10) and was very disappointed. The shrimp were small, thin, and greasy. They tasted like something youd buy in a frozen food case. Very disappointing..... Mentioned it to the help and was told, they now use shrimp that are brought in previously breaded and frozen. Yuk!!!

This place was great even during the water advisory. The service was great, our waitor William was helpful, knowledge and on point. The food was timely, hot and delicious. The atmosphere (in the bar dinning room) was cozy and you could actually have a coversation without interruption. Better value than other top rated restaurants. Definitely going back soon.

Service was horrible.... again.. It took 20 min just for someone to take our drink orders . I dont know if the waitress was new or if she just didnt know what she was doing because she kept forgetting things & taking forever with refills (it was slow no wait to get a table ) we gave it one more shot & that will be the last time we eat at Red Lobster

Maybe i am spoiled, but having worked for other restaurants, it was easily identifiable that everything this store has to offer is frozen. If you are looking for good seafood, try a local spot or go to Bonefish or (dare I say) Joes Crab shack. There is nothing noteworthy about this food. My family will never be returning.

My favorite place to go. The employees are friendly and helpful. My family takes me here every year for my birthday and I usually receive a gift card to be able to go at another time. My food is always cooked to perfection and there is plenty of it. The cheeder biscuts are the best in town.

Service is good and attentive. Biscuits are uniquely delicious and served hot. Serving size if calorie conscious can be shared, especially if your order comes with a salad and a side.
