I dont write reviews often, but felt compelled do so after my brief experience on the phone trying to order pizza for my family tonight. We havent ordered from Promise Pizza for about six years, but in an effort to be more healthy decided to try them. I pulled up their menu online and there was a coupon in the margin for 2 large 2 topping pizzas for $20.99. Great right! I called and placed my order and the guy who was very friendly at first told me that coupon was only good Monday to Thursday and actually they dont even have that one anymore. Well, it does not say that anywhere on the page and I read all the other coupons off to him and those they still had. He was trying to give me a discount, but it just didnt seem fair and he was having trouble with the computer. I explained that this wasnt fair and shouldnt be so difficult. If its on their website it should be honored. He said no. So I said that I would just order from else where and he said that that is what I should do. So I did - I ordered from Austins Pizza. This is too bad, because we order pizza every Friday night for our family of five and often times for the kids friends who are over and we really wanted a new healthy option.

I just enjoyed some Promise Pizza delivered to my door, so I thought I would take a minute to show them some love on yelp. Promise Pizzas gluten-free crust blows Austin Pizzas out of the water. Its no contest. Promise Pizzas gluten-free crust is crispy and buttery. It tastes so good you forget you have a "special" crust. Meanwhile, the cheese was thick and stringy and wonderful, the basil was abundant and delicious, the sauce was just right. Ill also give props to the side salad I ordered with it -- this was no typical "bowl of lettuce with 1/4 of a tomato", it had grilled chicken strips, carrots, onions... Yum. My husband and I have been kicking around the idea of moving south, but the fact that theres no Promise Pizza there is a mark in the "con" column of that idea. ETA: Ive been informed that Austin Pizza and Promise Pizza actually use the same vendor for their gluten-free crust. In that case, Promise Pizza must be baking it up better, because I swear it tastes like a completely different (AMAZING) crust! :-)

What a rip-off. A 12-inch gluten-free pizza with 4 toppings (tomato, parmesan, olives, basil). I pick it up to go. It weighs a couple of ounces (well, maybe a few more, but not many). Pay the bill: $25! OMG! Yeah, its $10 for the pizza without toppings, then $2 per topping, then $5 for the gluten-freedom. Not even enough pizza for two skinny people eating like birds on a Friday evening. And the toppings: $2 worth of basil was a sprinkle of dry store-bought basil from a shaker; $2 of olives was 12 little olive rings sprinkled across the pizza surface. Same with the parmesan. I guess if youre Donald Trump, you love it, you buy 1 per pizza per person. But for the rest of us, living on planet Earth, its a no-go...

We ordered a pizza by phone and went to pick it up. When we tried to pay for it, the employees behind the counter said it had already been paid for. We told them that it hadnt, they again said it had been paid by a Visa (which we didnt even have on us). After repeatedly refusing to take our money, we took the pizza and left. Several hours later, the owner/manager called and said we hadnt paid and needed to pay immediately on the phone. No apologies, no nothing - apparently we had somehow committed the wrong here. Really rude, really unapologetic, hed rather accuse of us stealing instead of admitting his employees made a mistake. Also, the pizza was small, dry, and over-priced. Wont be returning.

Was in the area doing some shopping and walking back to my car, they had a sign for a special personal pizza with two toppings for $5. It smelled good from outside do I couldnt help but stop in. It seems to be family owned and the whole family works there, they were super nice and friendly. The pizza is made to order, you can see them getting the dough ready. There is some seating inside and outside. I took mine to go but was able to grab a sit while I waited. The pizza was done fairly quickly and it was cooked perfectly. It was delicious and a great value for your money. I would definitely pop in here again and grab a bit to eat.

I went in there with my girlfriend and at first it was empty but before we knew it they were packed with 5 to 6 orders back to back. Little to our knowledge Alex was by himself and apologized for the wait and after getting all the orders proceed to make the pizzas with great skill and speed. Within the 10 to 15 minutes he provided our pizza was out to us hot and correctly made. He informed us that his other employee did not make it to work but you wouldnt even notice with the professionalism he presented when taking orders and making pizzas. I cant wait till my next pizza we love pizza day!

Really great place! This is more of a take out type of dining experience, since their seating is limited. They have the option to get a wheat crust and a gluten free crust too! Which I really appreciated! Their sauce is good but their toppings is where its at! Lots of cheese and toppings on the pizza! It was so delicious! My boyfriend and I came here and ordered before running into sprouts next door. When we came back our pizza was ready to go! We took it home and enjoyed! We live around here so we will definitely be coming here again!

I am used to eat healthy food, and Promise Pizza is the best place for that. The owner has been very attentive and willing to make everything I need. The many options is fresh and healthy, I have tried the gluten free options, it is unbelievable how delicious the taste is. The owner and his family are adorable and they make gluten free garlic knots and calzone when I ask and I know these are not part of the menu in gluten free crust. I really love the owner and Promise Pizza has been the best place to eat for me and my family.

Have very mixed feelings about the pizza here. On the one hand, it is delicious, and the quality of ingredients is evident. On the other, the size of the pizzas isnt exactly generous, and getting any significant number of toppings can be incredibly expensive. I only eat here with the assistance of coupons and special deals. If you are in the mood for a relatively simple pizza, and maybe some delicious Jalapeno Poppers, its affordable. Keep in mind $2 per topping, it can be murder!

I just went to Promise tonight with my husband. The guys behind the counter were friendly and very outgoing. I ordered a large chicken & tomato. The chicken was cooked perfectly, with a hearty portion. The tomatoes were juicy and the basil in the sauce was sooo good. The crust was crunchy with just the right doughiness. Very casual and welcoming place to eat in, perfect little tables inside and out. So far, this is the best pizza place Ive eaten at here in Austin.
